So, what we decided to do was to place an order for the chocolate ganache tarts a couple of days later, but while we were here, we'd try their Amandine tart, Sachertorte, and an Eclaire. Wow, I just had a bite of each and....daaaang, they were so so soooo good! So satisfying, so decadent, so next level deliciousness! ... perhaps a little sweet, but not overly so... thoroughly enjoyed just the taste of each. A couple of days later when we finally got to try their chocolate ganache tarts... wow... again! So obviously freshly baked, such wonderful density, flavor, and bite... with a butter cookie textured shell..... absolute heaven, and so difficult to just limit oneself to just one bite, but I managed. I'm sure we'll be back here again during our next visit.

The bakery itself is simple and clean. Be respectful of the place and help clean up after yourself. Not one customer made a mess there. Everyone are respectful to the sweet owner. The drinks itself are simple, reasonably priced on the cheaper side. Not sweet at all so ask if you want it to be sweeten. Quality and perfect desserts. Just semi-sweet so if you have a crazy sweet tooth, this is not your bakery. Again, prices are extremely reasonable and I see lots of locals who enjoy coming here. Prices are actually on the lower side of what I see throughout Houston. Passionfruit tart was my favorite, if you need someone to tell you what to try.

The first morning, a pretty big group of us walked in all at once, and I honestly expected a long wait. Instead, the two employees working absolutely crushed it. They got everyone's orders out surprisingly fast without sacrificing quality, and you could tell they were working incredibly hard. The pastry case alone is enough to make you stop in, everything looked fresh, beautiful, and homemade. I ordered the Texan Croissant both mornings because it was that good. It was easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The croissant was perfectly flaky, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the runny egg yolk took it over the top. I also grabbed a coffee the second day, and it was really good as well. My only critique is that both days we visited, there was a strong smell inside that reminded me of urine or maybe a mildew-type cleaning product. It wasn't enough to keep me from coming back (clearly, since I went two days in a row!), but it was definitely noticeable and something I hope they can figure out. Overall, the food was outstanding, the service was impressive, and I'll absolutely be back for another Texan Croissant if i'm ever in the area!

It was almost too pretty to eat... operative word being almost. It was so delectable! Not overly sweet, each bite was beyond scrumptious. I'd like to visit the bakery for a chocolate eclair or to purchase one of their loaves of bread. They are pricey though, so if anyone would like to buy these items for me, please be my guest. I love having and supporting bakeries that are truly artisinal and dedicated to expertly crafted goods. What a gem!

French style baguettes are perfect. The only problem is the pastries suffer from humidity of Houston and if not eaten fresh they can get soggy and lose their texture. I am referring to the mille fuille. The chocolate cake was really good and held up for a few days. I bought 4 baguettes, 4 mille fuille, 4 chocolate cakes and 2 boxes of mixed macaroons for $100. So not cheap but the flavor and presentation was nice. It's a must try in Houston. They do not suffer from a lack of business. So lines can be long. They are efficient however!! Bon appetit

Unfortunately, I left incredibly disappointed!!! While sitting inside, I saw a man who appeared to be experiencing homelessness politely ask a customer outside if they would buy him something to eat because he was hungry. The customer said no, and the man walked away. I didn't witness any harassment or confrontation. I decided to offer to buy him something myself. He said yes, so I went inside and ordered him a croissant and water. The employee at the register initially told me they weren't supposed to sell food if it was being purchased for someone experiencing homelessness. After I explained that I had already offered, she agreed to process the purchase "this time." After I gave him the food, the owner Frédérick Fortin approached me. He told me that this man had been coming around for several days and was "harassing customers" by asking them for food. He explained that it was frustrating from a business perspective because customers come and go and when they do this he is left to deal with the situation!!!! I told him I understood his concern, but what I personally witnessed was someone politely asking one person for food, being told no, and walking away. I made my own choice to help him. What I found most upsetting was being made to feel that I had done something wrong by purchasing something with my own money and choosing to give it to someone else. Once I purchase something, I should be able to decide what I do with it! I also explained that I had come to this shop because it was highly recommended to me. When I expressed my disappointment, the owner's response was essentially that if I didn't like his business, I didn't have to be there. So I left!!! I believe businesses can have boundaries while still treating people with empathy, respect, and kindness. Those are values I personally choose to support, and a business that doesn't reflect them is a business I'm not interested in supporting! Deff not coming back!!!

I like their milk buns, cocoa bun, egg tarts, and their drinks are pretty good as well. Their app is not the best but worth it if you go often enough to get points for free items. I think the staff at this location are friendlier than the others that I've been to in Houston, but their selection is not as good as the Bellaire location for sure. They sell out of popular items fairly often. And I went an hour before closing once because I happen to be in the area, there's almost no bakery items left by then. Good to know that it's selling out by the end of the day because that means it's fresh, but I wish they were better about restocking popular items at least midday. Overall, solid and reliable choice for Taiwanese bakery.

If you don't add coffee liqueur, you should at least use a good espresso. Without that, it's simply not Tiramisu. I was reading the ingredient list--way too many ingredients for a Tiramisu. They even forgot the coffee for the "coffee flavored ladyfingers." ‍ They should really take this into account or just sell it as chocolate cake.
