Getting back on the in person yoga bandwagon after what felt like an eternal COVID hiatus I find myself at Radiance Power Yoga. A welcoming space that is clean, nurturing and inspiring. My favorite classes here are the flow vinyasa, each instructor bringing their special sauce and magic. They also offer family flow classes as well as prenatal and baby and me. Weekday and weekend classes host a fun community of folks, many of which have been coming here for years. Highly recommend visiting this space. However, my experience with one of the managers, Kyle Donovan, ultimately led me to cancel my membership. When I reached out to inquire about a possible teacher discount and whether I could pause my membership during three weeks of travel in June, I was instead offered the option to clean the studio for 8-9 hours per month in exchange for my membership fee being waived. After doing the math, this arrangement would have resulted in compensation well below minimum wage. I shared this concern, but it did not seem to be taken seriously, which was disappointing. Additionally, I was told that my daughter could no longer sit quietly in the front room during classes, despite this having previously been allowed by multiple instructors. When I asked about a potential child membership option, I was told it was an "interesting idea," but no alternative solution was offered. While I want to note that most of the instructors are excellent and create a positive experience in class, my interaction with management left me feeling undervalued as a customer. Because of this, I have decided not to continue my membership.

Once you enter, it's a modern and clean open studio, with plenty of natural light that you can appreciate during your yoga practice. This is my husband's yoga studio of choice, and it's not hard to see why! Besides being a great space to practice yoga, the instructor we had for our Level 2 Vinyasa Flow class this morning was a wonderful guide through our very gentle practice. I also learned a new technique for practicing headstands, which is always fun. Having tried a number of intermediate vinyasa flow classes over the years, the one here was a slower pace than what I'm used to. This what exactly what I wanted on a Sunday after having a strenuous workout yesterday, but I just wanted to share this with my fellow Yelpers. What will definitely get me coming back here is that Yoga Junction allows the never-expiring punch passes to be shared among family members. Yes! True story. I got added to my husband's account and now I can just use classes from his pass. Muahahaha.

I look forward to it everyday. It is all because the amazing Shala teachers. Even though I have been practicing at Shala for quite a while, everyday every posture is like a brand new posture to me but with deeper experience. I love it! I have never felt bored! Our amazing instructors lead us to a different zone effortlessly when we are in the class. I consider this my spiritual practice. When COVID hit, the owner and instructor, Octavia and Tam, provided us with online classes via Zoom. I can't imagine how I would have gotten through that difficult time without their amazing support. Now we have many practitioners all over the states and others countries. In Boulder, We can either take classes online or in studio (the studio has most beautiful views in Boulder!). I live in Arizona.. but due to the pandemic, the classes have been on Zoom... and have been life changing.. I am mediating at least 4 or 5 mornings a week and doing 2 to 3 yoga classes... The gyms did open up but I am going cancel as soon as I get a chance... these teachers are so passionate and I have truly found peace and strength that I did not know I had.. I would recommend this to ANYONE.. specially if you are struggling.. depressed angry etc.. meditation is the perfect medicine... we have tools in us but this program helps bring it out of you.. with grace! I don't think one is necessarily better than the other, just depends on personal preference. The studio was very clean and had lots of props available for people to use. The instructor was very nice and fun and provided a good class. You could tell she a little bit of a newer teacher but made the class fun. We did some guided imagery meditation at the end which was interesting, not really my thing but maybe other people are into it.
