Kaiut Yoga is the first thing that has truly made a lasting difference. Not only has it significantly improved my back pain, but it's also relieved the everyday aches and stiffness throughout my body. The instructors are absolutely incredible, and Kristin is phenomenal. Every class is welcoming, intentional, and leaves me feeling stronger, more mobile, and genuinely restored. I've practiced yoga and Pilates for over 15 years, and I can honestly say Kaiut Yoga is unlike anything I've experienced. It focuses on restoring the body, improving joint mobility, and helping you move better in everyday life. It has a restorative quality that no other workout or yoga class has given me, and I leave every class feeling better than when I walked in. I can't recommend Kaiut Yoga enough. I've been to many Pilates studios and classes from here to the east coast and am happy to share…read morethat this is the real deal! The studio is easy to access (from any direction in town) and has a large parking lot. As it's just off the beaten path traffic and parking constraints are not an issue. The studio is sparkling clean and there are always refreshing beverages to enjoy if you forget your water or tea at home. Sometimes there are treats too! Forgot your socks or want a stylish new top or leggings? They have those available too! Bolder Pilates has also been known to have fun events over the years - some in studio and some in local parks. Hooks near the entrance as well as an area for footwear lend a homey feel and let you stow your stuff nearby when attending class. While my first and fave instructor was Lexi I have met many others over the years. The owner, Donna is also a wonderful, knowledgeable, motivating and welcoming instructor. The group classes I've attended had about 5-6 students. Being in a class of this size ensures not only wonderful personalized instruction but also our safety which is very important and often overlooked at studios that just pack em in like sardines. Instruction is clear and the knowledge and expertise the staff have of the musculoskeletal system is evident. Incorporating Pilates into my wellness practice gives me a better sense and strength of my center, posture, and peace of mind. With an improved posture I feel on top of the world and ready to tackle whatever life throws at me next.

As I approach 60, I know that taking these classes is one of the most important things I can do to keep me on my bike, on the trails, and living my best life. I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly and welcoming the staff was when I came in to get information and was really looking forward to taking class. With that said, the following day I took a pilates reformer class and although it was fine it wasn't a traditional class like I expected. The reformers are old and to do side lying leg series and bridge, the instructor passed out throw pillows for us to lay on which I found a bit strange. Only about 50% of the time did the instructor queue with pilates terminology and it didn't seem like there really was a "flow" to the class. Seeing as it was a holiday week, the instructor kept leaving the pilates area to go to the front desk and help customers which I found frustrating and distracting. I do realize that Body Dynamics is geared towards an older crowd who may not be as familiar with traditional pilates but everyone should expect to get their moneys worth no matter what age. Am I glad I went? Sure! But for $22 a class, I would expect a little more...

The parking lot is conveniently located, the bathrooms are clean and spacious (they have showers too!), and the waiting area is full of comfy seating and beautiful products and clothing to peruse. My favorite offering is definitely the sculpt class which can have quite a different vibe depending on the lighting, teacher, and music. There are a few different sets of weights to choose from to accompany your practice, and often a little more space between you and your neighbors than at their South Boulder Studio - which can be especially nice when the class is heated and high intensity. The vinyasa style classes (C1, C2) are also enjoyable, however due to some mobility constraints this practice and some of the transitions are no longer comfortable for me. It would be nice to see them bring in more restorative classes which I feel I saw consistently on their schedule a few years back. Today I showed up for class without my new yoga wedge (to ease the angle and weight distribution on my hand/wrist). Totally bummed out that they did not have even one in house. A staffer (not teaching my class) suggested I use multiple blocks in lieu of the wedge. I found this suggestion a bit strange as she did not ask for what purpose I was using the wedge for. I just smiled and thanked her then walked slowly back to the yoga room. If you are wondering, I used 8lb. hand weights during the plank poses/push-ups (when not on fists, or forearms). Darn that lateral epicondylitis! Overall I enjoy this location when my body is happy and able to participate in flow style classes and suspect I'll be in again soon.

Besides being a great space to practice yoga, the instructor we had for our Level 2 Vinyasa Flow class this morning was a wonderful guide through our very gentle practice. I also learned a new technique for practicing headstands, which is always fun. Having tried a number of intermediate vinyasa flow classes over the years, the one here was a slower pace than what I'm used to. This what exactly what I wanted on a Sunday after having a strenuous workout yesterday, but I just wanted to share this with my fellow Yelpers. What will definitely get me coming back here is that Yoga Junction allows the never-expiring punch passes to be shared among family members. Yes! True story. However, my experience with one of the managers, Kyle Donovan, ultimately led me to cancel my membership. When I reached out to inquire about a possible teacher discount and whether I could pause my membership during three weeks of travel in June, I was instead offered the option to clean the studio for 8-9 hours per month in exchange for my membership fee being waived. After doing the math, this arrangement would have resulted in compensation well below minimum wage. I shared this concern, but it did not seem to be taken seriously, which was disappointing. Additionally, I was told that my daughter could no longer sit quietly in the front room during classes, despite this having previously been allowed by multiple instructors. When I asked about a potential child membership option, I was told it was an "interesting idea," but no alternative solution was offered. While I want to note that most of the instructors are excellent and create a positive experience in class, my interaction with management left me feeling undervalued as a customer. Because of this, I have decided not to continue my membership.
