Fun place to get a good workout, listen to fun music, and be taught by energetic and friendly instructors. The parking lot is conveniently located, the bathrooms are clean and spacious (they have showers too!), and the waiting area is full of comfy seating and beautiful products and clothing to peruse. My favorite offering is definitely the sculpt class which can have quite a different vibe depending on the lighting, teacher, and music. There are a few different sets of weights to choose from to accompany your practice, and often a little more space between you and your neighbors than at their South Boulder Studio - which can be especially nice when the class is heated and high intensity. The vinyasa style classes (C1, C2) are also enjoyable, however due to some mobility constraints this practice and some of the transitions are no longer comfortable for me. It would be nice to see them bring in more restorative classes which I feel I saw consistently on their schedule a few years back. Today I showed up for class without my new yoga wedge (to ease the angle and weight distribution on my hand/wrist). Totally bummed out that they did not have even one in house. A staffer (not teaching my class) suggested I use multiple blocks in lieu of the wedge. I found this suggestion a bit strange as she did not ask for what purpose I was using the wedge for. I just smiled and thanked her then walked slowly back to the yoga room. If you are wondering, I used 8lb. hand weights during the plank poses/push-ups (when not on fists, or forearms). Darn that lateral epicondylitis! Overall I enjoy this location when my body is happy and able to participate in flow style classes and suspect I'll be in again soon. read more

This place gave me athletes foot. Not worth it at all. Instructor mark intimidated me when I tried to go at my own pace with a heart condition telling me to keep up with the class or leave. He mocked a woman for taking a sip of water. This place is awful. read more

This studio is beautiful and the yoga is brilliant. Jenifer's class is a great full body workout with delicious wind down.

It's been years since I did a Corepower and while I was excited to take a class again I was also slightly nervous. (The heat can be intimidating when you're not used to it) came for a Sunday morning C2 and had a wonderful class. The heat and humidity was perfect, I was never feeling like I was going to pass out or puke. The instructor was fun, inviting, and made you feel comfortable. I would totally come back to another class here read more

I love CorePower! There's always fun music when I'm doing my yoga sculpt and it always gets me pumped up!! I really appreciate the yoga instructors too, they always leave me feeling amazing after my final shavasna! read more

Rudest staff I've ever encountered. Had to repeat a request three times before the instructor listened. No ears rude. Then we we got annoyed she chewed us out. Common courtesy non-existent. Didn't even thank us for 200 purchase. Avoid this place read more

Take this with a grain of salt coming from a yoga teacher of 12 years. This review is more for the owners of the corporate chain of core power rather then the staff there. The studio is nice , staff is very friendly. The classes I took were with two lovely , bubbly , sweet , good intentioned girls teaching probably what they have been taught in their teacher training. And they taught a great fitness class!. I just hope beginners don't think this is what yoga is. If you are new to yoga I would never recommend coming these classes bc they are really fast , with very little alignment, to loud , cheesy club music. If you just want a great workout and to sweat your ass off then it's great ! Core power promotes fitness with "mindfulness ". There is NO mindfulness in this practice. No elements of yoga philosophy , breathe , chanting or meditation . Which I get is not everyone's cup of tea and they are trying to appeal to the masses. So pulling people into yoga with this appeal is a good thing I guess. It's always up to the student to explore deeper. I just don't think places like this should put the word yoga in their name at all. It's more like an Asana ( poses ) cross fit. What's sad is that corporate chains like this are taking over the smaller local studios that are really trying to preserve a lineage . I wish that the owners of core power would implement some kind of rooted , connected practice that actually has the ability to change the consciousness of people and better communities. Instead of fueling ego and making yoga all about body image. You can have an amazing workout with more classical styles and people don't know that. Again , the instructors were great for what they do! I give the girls 5 stars all the way!. But if you really are interested in getting healthy in your body and tackling the obstacles in your mind there are more authentic classes and studios ( not to mention safer ) so you can truly experience what yoga is all about. read more

I love practicing at the NoBo CorePower. All the teachers here are fantastic, and they work hard to create a strong, supportive community. I especially look forward to my Sculpt classes with Madison and Gini. These teachers are a force to be reckoned with. They inspire me to reach new physical & emotional heights during each class, and we have a blast together! Since my first C1 in '08, I've been consistently impressed with the high-caliber instructors this studio attracts. Bravo, and thank you to all! read more

Not at all impressed. I went to support a friend who recently got her teachers certification via Core Power. My friend, bless her, was not that good. I am coming from about 10 years practice, off and on. I was really into hatha yoga and then ashtunga in college and after a couple years of searching for a great teacher, I found one who is hatha based and I love her. SO, that being said, I know yoga but do not consider myself a yogi or anything. My beef with CP is that the teachers just aren't trained very well. She had us doing chatarunga (sp?) with no instruction on how to transition in or out. And her overall confidence and pace was lacking. Plus there were weights in the room. WTF? Yoga is yoga and the gym is the gym. I still don't get why people think CP is good. Yes, they offer free classes but you get what you pay for and from what I can tell that may be a shoulder injury from poor guidance in and out of the asanas. I know my left shoulder is not very happy with me. Final note, even my friend refers to this place as "corporate yoga". Need I say more? read more

The amount of beautiful bodied, toned people with a body fat percent of probably 15% and under that frequent this studio amazes me. I had heard about Corepower since moving to Boulder and passed by the various locations on a regular basis. I finally decided to try the free week that they offer on their website. I tried a variety of classes, almost all of them consisting of one hour in length. The classes are physically demanding, and they all include a "core" portion that involves some sort of crunches in different variations. I am a yoga instructor, so from one yoga instructor to another I can say that all the instructors I had were excellent. My personal favorite was Richi Jai. I did think it was strange that in the middle of every class they started playing club type music. One class I was in played Eminem, I can't think of anything I would want to hear less in my yoga class than Eminem. The reason why I am not entirely impressed is because since I do study yoga in my personal life, I did feel how commercial this studio is. They advertise all different types of boot camps and trainings, yoga with weights, etc. which to me seemed like ploys to make more money more than anything else. Also, the classes are only an hour, which means that you cut straight to the physical part of the class, without having a really nice warm up or savasana at the end. I guess that's why they rely on the hot rooms. Almost all the classes are extremely hot. It reminds me of Bikram but without the 26 traditional postures and 30 minutes shorter. Corepower is a great studio if you're looking to sweat and have a decent workout in the guise of yoga poses. Also if you're busy and can only commit an hour, then you may like it. While I enjoyed my free week I could almost immediately tell that this was yoga-ized version of a fitness studio instead of a heart felt yoga studio, and going there for the week didn't change my mind. read more

Corepower Yoga is a franchise and therefore delivers on expectations wherever you find one: they offer multiple classes, either of different levels or of different focuses. (People who, for example, complain about taking a yoga class using weights can easily find Yoga Sculpt on the schedule and just not go.) I'm a fairly avid practitioner who's been doing hot yoga for almost seven years (both Bikram and power vinyasa), but I've never been to a CorePower studio. I dropped in for a CorePower Yoga 2 class, which wasn't as hot as my home studio but offered a similar sequence of asanas (although slowed down a bit, which was nice for positioning and endurance). The studio was quite nice: ample changing spaces, individual doors on the showers, common hair brushes and hair dryers, and even little hair ties in a container on the bathroom counter in case you forgot yours. There's a sizable merchandise section up front with clothing including lululemon, and a waiting area with candles and soft chairs. Essentially, it has the feel of a dark-walled spa with modern touches. Our instructor was Matt K, and he helped make the class a great experience: I felt right at home, which can be difficult to do in an unfamiliar studio when traveling. Being an intermediate class, people clearly knew what asanas he was referring to, but he did a good job of also either demonstrating or offering spoken cues even so. I didn't notice any hands-on corrections (I like to have them, but find that many instructors and studios don't do as much of that when it comes to the power vinyasa styles of yoga), so anyone who isn't comfortable with them will probably enjoy these classes. The flow was fun, and a good workout: he incorporated some poses that I'm not as familiar with, so I was able to both extend and center my practice. Overall, this was a very good studio experience! If I'm traveling in a city where one or more CorePower location exists, I'll be back since they have extensive schedules, lots of class options, and I'll have the expectation for another good class (hopefully with an instructor who's equally as encouraging, clear, and thoughtful). read more

I went to Heather's class last Wednesday morning at 6:30 am and it was beyond just a sculpt class. I don't know what it is but her class feels so tribal like to me. From the music to the visualization I have while in the class it is a trippy ride in my imagination as well as a hell of a good workout! It's EARLy but it's worth the effort to get up and experience her class. Gifted instructor who I consider a mentor! read more

I love that they have their schedules/teachers online. They offer a wide variety of classes for all levels. They even have a FREE class on the schedule so you can come and check the place out. Then you can do a FREE week! Any classes you want! I love the teachers. They are each so unique in their teaching styles, I look forward to each one. Some stick to a very strict flow, while others ask for ideas to change the class up or if you need assistance on any poses. Wonderful environment. My ONLY Con would be the bright lights on half of the class room. I prefer a dimmer lit setting, so I try to get there early and get a spot on the far side of the room. They have showers, hairdryers, lockers and ample parking. read more

I love this place. I have been to basically every yoga studio in Boulder you can imagine to try them out, and CorePower hands down has the best hot yoga class. The one at Yoga Pod is pretty good too, but has not been consistent as far as temperature control and sometime lacks the intensity that I want in a hot yoga class. CorePower has definitely structured their class perfectly. I also love their Hot Power Fusion class. They have so many options here that there is definitely something for everyone, and I LOVE that most of their classes are heated because I am a complete hot yoga junkie. The instructors are all very competent and friendly and the bathrooms are clean and have a good amount of showers. read more

I had a wonderful experience at this location. Took CorePower 1: Intro to Power Yoga with Alex J. I'm a new student, having taken only a handful of classes of Vinyasa at another studio. I felt very welcome and at ease in Alex's class. He was attentive to all students, ensuring proper posture. But we also got a good workout and broke a very good sweat. It was the perfect balance of the spirituality and athleticism. Others in the class were more advanced (some in teacher training), yet they modified moves such that they also had a very strong experience. Thanks, Alex! The facility is no frills, which doesn't bother me. Nor does the retail out front - I appreciate the convenience of being able to pick up new items. read more

CorePower is LIFE. I graduated From Boulder and had to move home to New York, haven't been the same ever since. CorePower was a huge part of my life and yoga is now something I take with me wherever I go. I usually went to the Hill studio and it was my sanctuary. Favorite part of the day was getting out of class and going to yoga. It's the kind of place you can't find anywhere. Each studio in Boulder gives a similar vibe. Very homey, relaxing, you sort of feel like you're walking in to heaven and you never want to leave. Shout out to Sarah Bonsall, Janelle, and Tunde for teaching me yoga and making it such a huge part of my life. Miss you girls and all the other amazing people of CorePower xoxoxo Patiently waiting for a CorePower to open in New York or else I'm going to move back to Boulder because I need this place in my life!!! read more

Corepower North is a great yoga studio. I've taken classes at several studios in Boulder, and even though it's corporate, Corepower is very good. They have a great selection of classes, the studio is lovely and clean. A great environment for practicing yoga. I have really enjoyed classes with Stephen, Angela and Suzanne. The instructors are pretty varied and I liked some more than others. But, I think that's a great thing about a yoga studio with lots of offerings, you get to experience a lot of different teacher's styles and see who you like best. I would definitely recommend Corepower. I've referred several friends and they have all enjoyed it as well. read more

If you are into trendy and overcrowded chains, then this is the place for you. I signed up for a free week, because hey, who doesn't like free stuff? Well I'll never go back. The teacher, which I had three times, was not helpful AT ALL. I am used to Yoga teachers (even in intermediate or advanced classes) guiding you through the positions and being supportive. This guy was just calling out the sanskrit names just as if everyone had been doing this style of yoga for a while, and there were plenty of people in this class who were there just for the free week. Also, the room was the smallest yoga studio I've ever seen, and it was so overfilled that you had to be aware of your neighbors body parts a lot of the time. If you want a free week of yoga, then by all means go, because yoga's a good workout anyway, but there is so much yoga in Boulder (and better) that if you're going to pay, take your money elsewhere. read more

Depending on who you have as an instructor, the experience may not always be the same. I have been to many studios in the Boulder area and feel like there might be other options worthy of exploring. I have had severals classes at this specific Core Power and here are my thoughts: I felt like more than one instructor phoned in the class and that they were not helpful in providing feedback in correcting a posture. One instructor didn't seem very happy to be there and casually just mentioned a posture as a means of instruction-"downward dog, savassanah". This studio is very much motivated in selling memberships versus punch passes or affordable monthly passes--and a drop in class or even a one month membership may not be affordable. Their hot power classes are not as restrictive as BIkram and there is more flexibility in how you can make the posture work for you. Some classes have music which can be fun. Parking may be difficult and come of the classes have felt crowded. One benefit to having a CorePower membership is that you can go to different locations and are not just limited to one local studio. read more

I have gone here a variety of times over the years. They are increasingly crowded, to the point of practicing on someone else's mat. I think they started off on the right path, however now they just focus on selling their teacher training and the focus has shifted from yoga to sales. read more

Super disappointed. I've been doing yoga for years and when I finally convinced my boyfriend to join me, we went to a level 1 class. Level one yoga is a very fragile thing that involves a very knowledgeable teacher who can properly cue poses and most importantly make sure injuries are prevented. My boyfriend was lucky because I was next to him to make sure his posture was safe. The 19 year old college student that taught the class was clearly new and unknowledgable. Having a level 1 class do advance backbends should NEVER happen unless the student is aware of safty concerns and proper alignment. No to mention my yoga mat was stolen. It could just be in lost and found but I've emailed and called the person responsible for lost and found but no one has answered my calls or replied to my emails. I give it one star because the studios are everywhere and scheduling is easy. I'm starting yoga pod tomorrow. And if the person in charge of lost and found reads this and knows where my black lulu lemon yoga mat is, it would be nice if you respond to any of my emails! read more

As an on-and-off gym nut, I was never really excited about the idea of yoga. I am the kind of person that only thinks that exercise is worth it if you are left feeling like dying by the end of class- so when my friend begged me to do a free week of yoga with her at Core Power, I was a bit skeptical. How anti-Boulder is the idea of Core Power? And do I really want to waste time just laying on the floor and breathing and stretching when I could be out hiking a trail, or burning 700 calories/hour on the treadmill? Well, I was wrong for the third time in my life (just kiddddidng). I fell in love with the way that classes were taught and could not believe how sore I was the day after. the corporate model was perhaps the hardest part for me to get over at first. As I mentioned before, this is pretty anti-Boulder, and I looked into joining different studios. But I have many friends that live in Denver that practice yoga, and I quickly realized how great it is that I don't have to put up with some studios' incredibly limited schedules. Since there are three studios in Boulder, it is more likely than not that a class I want to take is offered within the next hour or two. If I am on campus in Denver and want to go to a yoga class, easy, I can head over to Grant Street or the Highlands. If I am at the mall and get the urge to get yoga, well, Broomfield has two studios. When I am traveling to see family in California or Chicago, I don't have to worry about finding a local studio to practice at. The variation in class offerings are consistent across studios, so I am never afraid to go to an intermediate class at a different studio- I know that they are pretty similar in difficulty. the iPhone app is great too :) The teacher variation is the reason why I gave this place four stars instead of five. Some teachers are incredible hits- Raj/Diane in North Boulder, Kirk/Crissy/Dave over at Highlands, etc. And some teachers are just horrible- one teacher that I am not going to mention here was so bad that I just left in the middle of class. You just have to go to different instructors and see who works best with your style. I am very honest and when I get a bad instructor, I make sure to leave feedback and never go to that person's class again and I've had management address the issue with me personally. Another up or down side is that the teachers definitely notice the regulars. When you're a new person, you don't get as much attention unless you are completely screwing up. When you go to a certain teacher's class more often, they spend more time modifying you, complimenting you, and giving you these amazing mini-massages at the end of class. Good for the regulars, not so good for those that are just starting out because they probably need the most encouragement. Try CorePower out, and if you have yogi friends that are members, ask them who are good and who just flat out sucks. Take it for what it is- if you like a flexible schedule, find two or three teachers that just mesh well with you, then the convenience is amazing. If you're a little more snooty (for the lack of a better word) about yoga and want to be a part of a very independent, private studio, then CorePower may not be the best place for you. read more

So, I have been a diligent core power member for over a year. Although their classes are good, their staff is missing something. There is just a sensitivity chip missing and I do think that they are more about the buck than the service. I decided to end my membership with this company and honestly I feel really good about it. At first they're really sweet and nice but the minute you sign up....NOTHING! It's all about the numbers. Sad! read more

I haven't written a review for this studio yet but I feel like should because it's such a nice location. The teachers are great here and it's a nice large studio. There's also lots of parking which is great. Highly recommend core power if you're looking for a yoga studio in Boulder read more

I've been going to corepower for 2 years now on and off. I've gone to Boulder North, Boulder South (not really liking that location it too much) and the one in Broomfield. I'll talk about Boulder North because that's the location I'm most familiar. I like this studio but not an avid fan (meaning, if I found a better place I'm happy to switch). I suggest to people who want to try this place out to really take advantage of their one week free. Your experience is based on your teacher and I have had good and bad teachers. I've mostly had good teachers (thank goodness) but there was this one male teacher who I'm not so fond of his teaching style or vibe. Fortunately, he's mostly at the South Boulder studio. The parking here is great but the rooms/classes do get filled. My pet peeve? When people come really late and I have to move for them. Not really a happy camper there and I came to yoga to be peaceful. read more
