Yoga Junction is the quintessential oasis away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. It looks homey and inviting on the outside, much like many of the other businesses situated on Main St. of old town Louisville. Once you enter, it's a modern and clean open studio, with plenty of natural light that you can appreciate during your yoga practice. This is my husband's yoga studio of choice, and it's not hard to see why! Besides being a great space to practice yoga, the instructor we had for our Level 2 Vinyasa Flow class this morning was a wonderful guide through our very gentle practice. I also learned a new technique for practicing headstands, which is always fun. Having tried a number of intermediate vinyasa flow classes over the years, the one here was a slower pace than what I'm used to. This what exactly what I wanted on a Sunday after having a strenuous workout yesterday, but I just wanted to share this with my fellow Yelpers. What will definitely get me coming back here is that Yoga Junction allows the never-expiring punch passes to be shared among family members. Yes! True story. I searched for a local yoga studio and found Yoga Junction's class offerings to be exactly what a quality yoga studio offers. Something for everyone. Prepaid for $300 worth of private yoga classes, and the owner Mykel has ghosted and hasn't responded via email or phone for 2 months. Seeing now they're closed and phone goes straight to voicemail. Scammer of a business owner. read more

Great Yoga studio! I went to Yoga Junction for the first time today and it was a breath of fresh air. The class catered to all levels, the instructor was great and the class had a wonderful flow to it. I don't take a lot of yoga classes because it's out of my comfort zone but I felt very welcomed and encouraged at this studio. read more

Yoga Junction is my "home" studio, being just a few minutes' drive away. But having experimented with the many other local and sometimes bigger studios (not to mention franchises) I appreciate the lower-key intimacy of YJ. I seek challenging classes and personal attention to my form, which are reliably provided. I'm also bored easily and work odd hours so the cadre of excellent instructors, with their varying approaches and class times give me the choice to practice the yoga I prefer every day. It's not a scene, and there aren't many frills, like showers, but the environment is thoughtfully composed, with murals instead of mirrors and calm, quiet space to focus on the work. I went to a yoga class yesterday at 6 pm. First off I'm glad that they provide many all level classes. I absolutely loved the instructor, she was great going through the different poses, holding them long enough where it's hard and flowing great with the breathe. I absolutely will be back. I'm excited to try the sunrise yoga class, I think that will be a great way to start off the work day. Also really appreciate having availability of classes before and after work hours. The room was very comfortable, easy to see the instructor and what she was doing and I didn't feel cramped which I sometimes do at certain yoga classes. I love this studio! The space is friendly, open, and warm, and the teachers are spot-on. I love the fact that the instructors aren't too "handsy" (I actually had someone injure my back by trying to push me into a more extreme position at another place). What hands-on instruction I've gotten has been very gentle and respectful. I also highly recommend the vinyasa classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. read more

The yoga classes at Yoga Junction are rock solid. The teachers I've had who led their classes (I've experienced 6 of them) are amazing. And the studio is aesthetically stunning with beautiful hardwood floors, quaint environment and excellent location. Where this studio loses 2 stars from me, and my business, is in their lack of professionalism. Here are some examples: Students are permitted to arrive to class as much as 10 minutes late, which causes disruption to everyone else. On two occasions, I've had teachers not know how to handle class check-in and one asked me how to adjust the thermostat. Lack of response to questions via email is the one that eventually sealed the deal for me with this studio. I have an app that tells me someone is opening my emails, so I know they're getting through, but clearly no one cares enough (or is too overwhelmed) to reply. As much as I would love to love this studio, I don't, and that's why the franchises win my loyalty. read more

I was not into yoga just two short years ago. Now, I can't get enough! I have Yoga Junction to thank for this. I live in Louisville and love that the studio is conveniently located downtown. I often grab a coffee or a bite to eat after class. Going to Yoga Junction is my retreat after a busy work day, but I also love to start off my Saturdays and Sundays with a morning class. I primarily take their Core Fusion and Vinyasa classes because they wake me up, get my heart pumping, and make me feel great. They also fit with my evening schedule! I occasionally take Align & Flow, too, when I need a gentler class that focuses on the basics and form. I've come across some really great teachers and never find the classes to be intimidating. I also recommend their CommUNITY classes, which tend to offer a good variety at a discounted price ($8). There's a popular $5 Happy Hour Yoga at 5:30 pm on Fridays. Be prepared for a very full Happy Hour class! I have to be in the right mood for that class, but it seems like a great introductory class, especially if you're new to the studio or want to check out a different teacher. Yoga Junction offers punch cards or you can just drop in for classes, too, but I have signed up for a monthly pass that lets me take any 12 classes in a month. I like the convenience of this. They have several monthly options. I took yoga classes at several places in the area before I happily landed at this studio. The studio is inviting, the owners are great teachers and are always friendly, it's affordable, I am always meeting interesting people, and I just feel comfortable taking classes here. read more

Small intimate space, no mirrors or loud music. All the instructors are professional, well trained, and caring. I am a beginner and have never felt pushed to go too far into a pose and hurt myself, but am encouraged to improve with praise and humor with each session. The instructors are always watchful to help guide you to the proper stance and alignment to ensure your safety. The atmosphere is welcoming, the clientele all encourage each other. It is a place of peace and thoughtfulness. I would recommend to anyone. Yoga mats and props are available for those who don't have their own yet, you just have to bring yourself and some water. read more
