Appreciation. Mindfulness. Body Awareness. These take on a new level whenever I go to Anne Spear's Baby and Me Yoga class at Soul Tree Yoga on Thursday mornings. It is the only time during the week when I get to quiet my mind of my ever-growing to-do list and (sort of) focus on myself. In the past when baby Maximus Rex (not his real name) started screaming because he needed attention, Anne has charitably offered to hold him so I could participate in the exercises. Another great thing about this class is that Anne checks in with all the participants to see what their focus areas are, and she changes up the exercises to address these focus areas. For example, Anne almost always incorporates exercises to prevent diastasis recti, which is something that is important to me. Of course, the class isn't just about the mommies. Sometimes we sing to the little ones and give them massages. Everyone leaves more zen! read more

I had an amazing one -on -one personal yoga class at Soul Tree with Jade today! She is very mindful of creating and guiding each movement to be comfortable in the body. Jade tailored my session to accommodate a hip injury I am working through. Chris Mitchell is giving an amazing, healing and gently strengthening class online or in studio on Sundays at 11:30 am. It's called Yoga for Longevity. I am going back to Yoga after many years and need a gentle start at 50+ years old. This class is perfect for me, no pain after, feeling stretched and gaining immediate flexibility. Locally owned yoga studio in Lafayette offering a variety of classes and workshops to satify any Yogi. I really like the space - clean, big room, with a mirror along one side so you can check alignment. It's not a heated room but you will sweat. Reception area has cubbies, couches, and a change room - checking in for class is a breeze 10 pack of classes is only $120 which is very reasonable. You can find their schedule on their website on the Mind Body app as well. Try their new client special so you can find the teacher that works best for you. I've really enjoyed Marin's and Shannon's classes. I've been to 5 or 6 classes so far and the room is large enough that you will not be on top of your neighbor. This lovely little pilates, yoga, and dance studio was recommended by a friend and I am so glad I went. This place is still pretty new and not that known so I'd love to spread the word. The space is, nice, clean and comfortable and they have a lovely selection of classes from yoga, to pilates, to african dance, to Nia and hip hop! What a cool little place right in Lafayette. I went to a core power yoga class and the instructor was wonderful and didn't not push you beyond your comfort zone (a pet peeve of mine). Also the drop in rate is only $10 which is amazing for the level of instruction. They also sell yoga wear, candles, and cool lanterns. Plus it is right in historic old town Lafayette. Open hearted, heart opening, welcoming, challenging, and fun-Soul Tree has it all. I came to Soul Tree after practicing a warm vinyasa flow in PA for several years and keep coming back. I've been attending Sarah's Saturday morning detox class, along with occasional Friday night happy hours, and today I attended their restorative class ... which opened my heart, that's for sure. The beautiful studio space often starts little cool, and I look forward to their growth and success so that they can expand their space. This place is so great! I've been lucky enough to go to three different Beginner Yoga classes with three different teachers-- each one was such a blessing. I've only done yoga once formally before and recently hurt myself. I was so worried that the teacher would be pushy about how each pose needed to be done (as was the case my last experience)-- but with every pose each teacher offered about three different variations so that we would feel comfortable doing what our body needed, not what we felt we needed to do. I cannot praise the experience high enough!!! read more

I had a full hip replacement in September 2019. Healing is slow work and I thank yoga for being an integral part of the process, both pre and post-surgery. I managed to attend 168 classes at Soul Tree in 2019, with 22 different instructors and many different styles. My favorite yoga studio I've ever been to! I think all of the instructors I've been to (Meg, Cori, Lori, Shelley, etc) all put on excellent classes- they keep things interesting with new movements and new challenges every time I go in there (which is about once a week for the last year). Each teacher has a bit of a different focus, either on fitness or arm balances or whatever, and I like switching it up to get the best of all worlds. The classes are low-pressure, as intense as you want to make them, but I pretty much always leave sweating and beat. Highly recommended for new or returning yoga people! I LOVE this yoga studio!! Have been coming for a few years now and just love the mellow vibe and excellent yoga instruction. The Pilates is fantastic too. Every teacher here is top notch. This is a wonderful yoga, etc. studio. The Tao Yoga Class is similar to Chi Qong where you work with the energy inside your body for healing. I love this class, even though it is not like a strenuous yoga class, I feel so wonderful after. The teacher, Angela is very knowledgeable, encouraging, present and very sweet. I have enjoyed any class that I've attended, especially Megan's Pilates class. She works our core! This studio also does a lot of outreach to the community. Love this studio! read more

I'm lovin' it!!! Almost enough to make me move. I work here in CO on a very part-time basis and found this charming studio. I've only been able to enjoy two of the many fine offerings but Flow with Megan and Forrest with Lori rocked. I love the idea they have of yoga with DJ in house and out after for socializing.Sorry I will not be around to catch that one. I'm taking that suggestion home to the local studio where I work/practice. I look forward to my next visit up and will definitely cruise by to enjoy some more of the fine teaching, friendly clients and the good vibe at Soul Tree. Soul Tree is a great place to practice yoga. The studios offer a variety of classes to suit the needs of any individual. There are flow classes that are a bit more challenging to classes that are more restorative and relaxing flow classes. And if you're not looking to go to a flow class then you can go to the Monday night Yoga Nidra class where you lay on your back and go through a guided meditation. In conjunction to the diversity of classes Soul Tree offers, all the teachers are great too. I've taken a variety of classes and have never had a bad experience. They all offer a unique twist to their teaching style and make the experience welcoming and encouraging. Soul Tree also offers a variety of cool workshops you can sign-up for. I did a sound healing class and it was a great experience. Finally, Soul Tree also works on bringing people together with the once a month Yoga Night Out where teachers and students have the opportunity to go out together and socialize.
