Boulder is lucky to have this new gem in the yoga community. Owner and founder Gina Caputo is a…read morewoman on a mission. Her vision is to bring the deep wisdom of yoga to the masses by training a peaceful army of teachers empowered to innovate and make their offerings their own. After owning and managing studios in Kansas City and L.A. and then teaching elsewhere in Boulder, she's finally opened her own school. If you're considering attending a public class here, GO. You won't be disappointed! The space is beautiful, and the quality of the teaching is top-notch. You can choose to pay a little more and have your class fee fund scholarships to help yoga reach disadvantaged communities. The teachers here are super-welcoming to beginners and all body types, especially Gina. She's the teacher I always bring all my friends to if I want them to try yoga out and not be scared away, but just have a really fun experience. And I've done yoga with A LOT of teachers in Boulder. Meanwhile, I just finished the first 200-hour teacher training the school offered in this space, and it was truly one of the most transformative and empowering experiences of my life. In training teachers, Gina focuses first and foremost on physical safety, and gave us just the right amount of easy-to-digest anatomy knowledge to make wise choices in how to protect our students' bodies for the long term. Her evolutionary sequencing framework taught us how to create classes that progress intelligently toward the peak experience of the day. I can't emphasize how rare that knowledge is in a 200-hour training; most trainings stop at giving students a particular sequence to memorize, and don't empower them to create their own. Yet don't think CSOY is all about the physical body: We spent plenty of time on understanding how a yoga asana practice can and should fit in to a deeper spiritual practice, including meditation, and how to help students experience something more than just a good workout. The continuing education workshops they're offering here are awesome too, and a great value. I participated in the first Buddha's Bootcamp meditation workshop and even though I already meditate every day, I learned a ton. But again, you don't need to already be experienced to feel welcome here. Bottom line: I couldn't be prouder to have spent my hard-earned time and money on becoming part of this community and joining Gina's team. Whether you're just looking for a place to do yoga once in a while or are thinking about a teacher training, you won't find a better community anywhere.

Having frequented their two other locations in town I was happy to check out this one. The free…read moreweek of classes didn't hurt either (they emailed me a 'we haven't seen you in awhile' message). Just a short drive from downtown boulder i arrived sooner than expected (always a good idea to arrive early for preferential mat placement). The parking area was small-ish but I was happy to find a spot. The folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful and there was a little bowl of granola bars for after class snacking. The locker room was larger than expected, super clean, complete with showers and loads of lockers to chose from (bring your own lock if you wish to use one). The sinks aren't so conveniently located (not much space between them and lockers) so if it's post class don't be shy to squeeze by those changing so you can wash your hands etc. The class I indulged in (twice so far this week) was Sculpt - my favorite class they teach. Our teacher Noelle was awesome and provided helpful guidance as well as encouragement during the class. She also impressively remembered several of us newbies' (to this location) names. The music was bumpin and kept us on pace for the class. The retail area is neatly organized and had a sizeable sale rack - awesome. Can't wait to return for more classes.

These items are fairly expensive, especially on the high end, and management should be less Cavalier regarding this situation. At least that was my experience today as the employee really had no system to work with other than "mats in back". When someone takes the time to call, their name and phone number should be recorded and linked to that mat. It's just good business.
