Our waitress Kaitlin was awesome. She was on top of everything our entire visit. We went in without reservations which is not recommended. Staff is very friendly. Bread was good. Had the meatballs as app was not impressed with size or sauce. Wife's steak was no where near temp she order but she was able to eat most of it. I don't write negative reviews lightly, but this experience missed the mark across the board. The food was the biggest disappointment. Dishes arrived lukewarm and lacked basic seasoning, with textures that felt off--as if items had been sitting too long before being served. What should have been straightforward menu staples came out bland and, in some cases, borderline inedible. It felt less like a kitchen execution issue and more like a breakdown in quality control. The drinks were equally concerning. Multiple cocktails carried a noticeable fishy odor, wrong wine was served and my brother had to bargin with the service to get a full poor for his mixed cocktail all of which is not something you can overlook. Whether it was an issue with glassware, ice, or ingredients, it created an immediate lack of trust in what was being served. We ended up leaving most of the drinks untouched Service did little to recover the experience. Staff interactions were minimal and inattentive--long gaps between check-ins, difficulty flagging someone down, and no real acknowledgment when issues were raised. There was no sense of ownership or urgency, which made the overall experience feel neglected. Overall, between the poor food quality, questionable drinks, and lack of service, this was not a place I would return to or recommend. read more

My friends and I recently dined at Giada's Sorellina Italian Restaurant inside Hollywood Casino. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and inviting, with elegant décor and slightly dim lighting that creates a nice atmosphere. Our server was wonderful, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. We started with cocktails, which were delicious, along with herb focaccia bread and butter that we all enjoyed. Two of us ordered the Lemon Spaghetti Chitarra, while our other two friends ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Our entrées arrived quickly after ordering, which initially seemed like a positive sign. At first, my Lemon Spaghetti Chitarra appeared and tasted flavorful. The pasta was excellent, and the chicken had good flavor as well. However, after cutting into the thicker center portion of the chicken, I became concerned that it was undercooked. Using the flashlight on my phone, I discovered that the chicken was actually raw throughout much of the interior. At that point, my friend who had ordered the same dish was nearly finished with hers, but I asked her to cut into the thickest part of her chicken. Unfortunately, her chicken was raw as well. We immediately notified our server, who recognized the issue right away. Since I had barely eaten my meal, they offered to prepare another entrée, which I declined. The manager, Lisa, came to our table and apologized. My friend suggested complimentary desserts, but since I don't eat dessert, I requested that my drinks be removed from the bill as well. Lisa agreed to do so. What concerned me most was the manager's response when I explained that serving raw chicken is unacceptable because it poses a risk of foodborne illness. She stated that it was "not particularly" dangerous. As a professional chef with a food manager certification, I explained that chicken must reach an internal temperature of 165°F to be considered safe and that undercooked chicken can lead to illnesses such as salmonella. Her response left me feeling that the seriousness of the situation was not fully appreciated. I then asked whether the kitchen temperatures their chicken before serving it. Lisa informed me that they temperature-check their steaks but not their chicken. That answer was extremely troubling. While steaks can safely be served at varying degrees of doneness, chicken cannot. To be fair, our friends who ordered the Chicken Parmesan enjoyed their meals, and the restaurant did ultimately comp all of our entrées. However, compensation does not erase the fact that two guests were served raw chicken, and one of my friends became ill afterward. This experience was a huge disappointment. I expected much higher food safety standards from a restaurant associated with a high-end casino and a well-known culinary brand. While the service, atmosphere, drinks, and bread were all very good, the lack of concern regarding a serious food safety issue left a lasting negative impression. - Terrible Management the bafflingly poor customer service and management we experienced at Sorelle on a Thursday night completely warranted it. We stopped in around 8:00 PM looking to wrap up our evening with some dessert. Walking in, the restaurant was far from full. They had plenty of open, unreserved tables available, and at least half of the bar area was completely empty. Despite having more than enough capacity to accommodate us, we were told by the staff that we couldn't be seated for dessert. When the manager got involved, the situation didn't get any better. Instead of trying to accommodate paying customers in a half-empty restaurant, the manager was completely said they are full with reservations and wait list which didn't make sense. Turning away business when you have wide-open tables and an empty bar makes zero operational sense, A restaurant's management sets the tone for the entire establishment, and the management here is failing. We were told the only dish Giada has on the menu at all her restaurants is the lemon spaghetti with shrimp. The sauce was broken and the shrimp was mealy. Went here last Saturday 6/20 for bday celebration... there were 8 of us. Was really excited as I love her cooking show. Was so disappointed. Sadly. First they were out of so many things, from drinks to food. Second what food we did order, no one enjoyed anything except for their salad. The dressing was amazing!! Sorellina had only been open for a little over a week when we went last weekend, so lots of grace was given knowing it was a new staff, new menu and we would take that into total consideration in a review. We have been to Giada Vegas and her quick pickup in Caesar's Palace as well. The menu is very small but the dishes are all great, the three of us were able to taste each other's meals and get a good feel for the menu. We enjoyed every dish, I would honestly order each again. I feel like the pasta was cooked perfectly and the presentation was beautiful. The menu was really lacking a hearty pasta and more other Giada classics that might come around with an expanded menu that we are looking forward to trying. Our waitress was lovely but I overheard a manager really talking down to her and that was disappointing. We had a reservation for a party of 2 at 7:30pm and we're sat right away. Waters were brought to the table and the house bread. Personally, the bread was a little too salty for me but it was a nice size and warm. I did hear another table ask for the bread but without the extra glaze on top, so maybe that could be a future option. The reason for the 4/5 starts was due to the fact that they were out of nearly every speciality drinks on the menu they provided. Was a bummer. We started off with the meatballs, whichbwere just okay we both thought. Wouldnt get it again. We enjoyed that our waitress let us know the steak came with a little side of potatoes but if hungry we may want to order another on. So we got the broccolini which was delicious. The side portion was big. We could have just gotten 1 of those vs two. The steak was definitely the start of the dinner. We both asked for it medium. While one was a little more rare, it fit my husband's taste buds perfectly. The dessert was also a good way to finish the dinner. read more

Everything about our dinner at Sorellina was wonderful. They accommodated us changing our reservation at the last minute and treated us like royalty the whole time. It was our wedding anniversary and multiple staff congratulated us. The restaurant is beautiful. Our server was extremely professional, the cocktails, appetizer and mains were out of this world. We live in Chicago and know our way around a menu. Everything we ate was top rate. The best part of the night was when Manager Lisa came by to ask about our dinner and congratulate us on our anniversary. We told her we ate at Giada in The Cromwell in Vegas and wanted to try Sorellina. She told us to hold on for a minute, left, then came back with an autographed Giada cook book as a present. We had a fabulous experience at Sorellina by Giada! From start to finish, our evening could not have been finer. There were three of us dining (my husband and I, and a dear friend from out of town). The atmosphere was pristine and exactly what I was hoping for. Once seated, we were greeted by our amazing server, Ty. She described the various dishes and choices she might suggest and thoroughly explained each selection. Throughout our evening, she saw to our every request and had the most delightful personality. The next time we make reservations, she will be our server of choice. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We selected items from the various categories so as to get a sampling of everything. What we experienced was perfection! We began with the Salumi & Formaggi, which was our introduction to their beautiful presentations. From there we ordered several dishes from the Bacon Wrapped Dates, Chopped Salad, Scallop Risoto, Seared Salmon, their out of this world Ribeye (prepared to perfection), Lemon Spaghetti Chitarra, and sides of Broccolini and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes. Such a beautiful restaurant! I don't know why so many negative reviews?! Food was awesome and the service was great. Food came out quick and warm. The lemon butter that comes with the focaccia is so good!!! We tried all things lemon- lemon pizza, lemon potatoes, and the lemon butter with the bread. All so good! I was told this was one of the signature dishes at all the chef's restaurants. My husband ordered the lasagna, it was dry and flavors were off. The other person in the group ordered the filet, and of course it was good; hard to screw up a filet. Portion sizes were extremely small. I mean smmmaaallll. For the price, the food should have tasted better and served larger portions. My experience was a 10/10! My friend and I sat at the bar and were our for her birthday. The bartender, Kelly was an absolute delight. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested a few things for us to try. We had the shrimp appetizer, which was amazing... the sauce was divine. We also shared the chicken parm. It was my friend's birthday so they brought a cannoli cheesecake which was almost too good. The staff are very attentive, offering freshly grated parmesian for every dish and very friendly. The atmosphere was a 10/10. The only thing negative I can say is that we didn't try the pizza which looked amazing. We are going back this week to try it! You expect everything to be top notch and for the most part everything was. The food was outstanding, we had the Cesar salad, which had a crispy garlic garnish that really made it pop, the lemon pizza which was a unique experience, a white pizza with delicious crust, the lemon so thin it melted into the pizza, the spicy pasta and the cacio e pepe were everything we wanted in a pasta dish. Service was not bad but not at the level of the food preparation, an example, I wanted to place a partial order to stagger some of the dishes we ordered, was told not to worry that they could stagger my order, but everything was brought at once. The chicken was juicy and tender and the delivery system was impressive. Lemon pasta was a little on the salty side and it had a light lemon taste. Preview night. They were serving most of their menu items. Tried them all and everything was fantastic. Couple standouts were the steak, lemon pizza, pasta, seafood tower, and desserts. Service was great, Giada came around to the tables, took pictures, and signed cookbooks which they handed out. Main dishes we got Lasagna not a fan, the lemon spaghetti was super small portion size and the filet (was pretty good). The waiter we had was very friendly and nice! Scallop risotto with asparagus and peas. Each element prepared perfectly. Lemon spaghetti with shrimp and crispy capers. Same perfection and great flavor. Complimentary rosemary foccicca seved with lemon butter was superb. Manager Kelly checked on every table and we appreciated the great conversation. She asked us to try the the lemon cream pizza. You got two small scallops, 2 1/2 pieces of asparagus on a bed of risotto and cream sauce sprinkled with a few peas for $28 no salad no soup oh, and some bread and butter the service was terrible. For a Friday night 3 weeks after the grand opening, the restaurant is not filling all their tables so that's a plus. No reservation needed so you can walk right in and get a table. If you want to order a cocktail from their drink list, good luck getting the drink you actually want. From the 9 specialty cocktails on their menu, 4 of them are not available and you will not know unless you order because no one will tell you off the start and it's not marked off the menu because that would be tacky, right? Need to uphold that classy image for Joliet. That's when the bartender will tell you "Oh no sorry this one and this one and this one AND this one are not available." And when they do serve you a drink, they're reading the ingredients right in front of you as they "mix" it. No presentation, no straw. Just here's your drink in pint glass. Oh and it's an $18 cocktail too. What a rip off. Complimentary focaccia bread load was sour. If it's meant to be a sourdough focaccia, great then I didn't know. But this was not focaccia I'm used to and I've had homemade made from actual Italians that blew this focaccia away. I can't imagine many people actually liking the bread we were served. Not good. Our appetizer was served in the most unusual way. "Hey guys sorry for the bad presentation. We messed up and it was supposed to be this way but it's not but anyway, here you go, bacon wrapped dates!" -- ummm what do you even mean?? Did you drop our food on the ground and put it back on the plate? Nothing says appetizing like being unsure of what you're eating. The sauce on our bacon wrapped dates was COLD oh and very oily. We didn't bother with the rest of the menu. Yes, the restaurant itself was very aesthetic and chic, no doubt about it. For a "celebrity" chef to put her name on this restaurant, it's embarrassing. We drove to Hollywood casino just to eat here. However, we were unable to eat here since the hostess told us reservations only. I took another look at their website and there is nowhere to make a reservation. I then chatted online with their customer service and the chat person said you don't need a reservation. We then went back and now there was a long line at the hostess station so we left. Don't let them tell you that a reservation is required because that is untrue. As a side note, this casino takes all your money very quickly. Go to Rivera casino. They have Hugo's, take reservations, and it's definitely good there. read more

Last minute decision to go and gamble at the casino on 10/25/25. When we walked in at around 4:30 pm. I stopped to see if there were any openings for dinner at around 7:00 pm. Informed they don't have anything until 8:30 pm. I understand, it's a Saturday night. I asked about bar seating and was informed it's 1st come 1st serve for the bar seating and they don't take names. We finish our gambling at around 6:45 pm and stop at the host desk. I ask if they received any cancelations. This time I am talking with who appears to be the head hostess. She said right now nothing is open at the bar for 2 people. I asked how about a table. She said the next reservation is at 8:30. She stated that if we see seats open at the bar we can just seat ourselves. I asked if she could just take our names for the bar. She informed me no, you have to watch for something to open. While waiting 3 seats open up. We start to head over and the other hostess stopped us. This was the first hostess we talked to when we first got there at around 4:30 pm and said that those seats are for a reservation. I said, we were informed by both you and just recently your boss that there are NO reservations taken for the bar. She stated it was done by the other hostess. I said the one who just informed me that there are NO reservations done for the bar or names taken for the bar. I got no reply and she walked away. About 5 minutes later 2 seats opened and we were able to seat ourselves. The 2 servers at the bar, Brittany and Kelly were AWESOME and very accommodating. Pizza was fabulous. 5 stars for both of them and the food. This was the 1st time we ate here. This was the 3rd time we have tried. The 1st two times we had issues with the hosts. It's like they don't want to accommodate you to get seated. The host is the 1st impression of any restaurant. They need to look at getting individuals that are service friendly at the entrance. We had dinner on 9/11 and the check was incorrect. They said I would get a refund of $14 on my credit card, and I never received it. The check number 1407. We were overcharged on the drinks we had. The food was fair, and the service was poor. I understand they have not been opened for a period of time. They gave me an excuse they could not give me a copy of the refund which I thought was the most ridicules thing I ever heard. They also told us we could not make reservations because they were booked. When we got there the place was empty. read more
