So let me start by saying, you pay a ridiculous amount of money for their cakes, I was "very detailed" about what I wanted because I had (3) other places that were willing to make this cake for me. After visiting the store, showing photos, and giving explicit details, they assured me they could do exactly what I asked for. Come the day of the event...the cake was NOTHING that I ordered! They chose to completely ignore anything I asked for! Beware!! Just a note of extreme caution! Owner Monica is extremely rude, and I would caution anyone who is looking for anything specific! I love the level of service that Sorella's gives to each customer. I stopped in when I was in town to talk through the details of my event and to determine the perfect cake. While I knew a little about what I wanted (buttercream and vanilla cake) they asked about layers and colors and a range of things that made the perfect cake. And they assured me it would be ready on time for pickup and it was! Know that they need at least a couple of weeks as all of their cakes are customized so don't wander in the day of your event and expect to get a cake. And what was even more special was the look on my mom's face when she saw the cake and we all gathered around her to sing, "Happy Birthday". The moment was priceless. We've been coming to Sorella's for most of my life, and when it came time for my wedding cake, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. It was very easy to set up an appointment to meet with one of their wedding cake consultants. He asked the basic wedding questions as well as pictures from Pinterest or anything else he could use for inspiration. They absolutely captured what we were looking for in a wedding cake. Their tasting selections were easy to set up as well. We were able to get a good variety to see what we liked. They set it up so that you take it home and eat it whenever you'd like. It worked really well for us. We would also occassionally have a question or two leading up to the wedding, and they always responded to our questions promptly. We opted to pick up the cake ourselves for the wedding, and they made it quick, easy, and safe for us to do on our own. For context, we had our small two-tier wedding cake and 150 cupcakes. They were all securely packed, and we didn't have any trouble. Also, did I not mention that the cupcakes and cake were DELICIOUS? Because they were. We got a lot of compliments from a variety of our guests and couldn't be happier with our experience. On the plus side, they give you a free six inch cake on your 1 year wedding anniversary. Very disappointed in the quality of the cupcakes I received for my engagement party. My mother asked for Tiffany blue and sent an inspiration picture for clarity. Not only did we receive Cookie Monster blue instead of Tiffany, but multiple of the cupcakes were decorated with someone's terrible handwriting (see picture). The craftsmanship was horrible. I cannot believe they handed these to a paying customer. I called the bakery to let them know of my disappointment and I was told I'd likely get a refund and then I received a call that it would just be store credit. I said that wouldn't work because I won't be a customer again and so we settled on a check to be reimbursed for some of the payment. I believe a full refund is necessary to make up for their lack of professional cake decorating skills. Very unfortunate this was the only dessert at my engagement party. We were set to get married this past August and checked everything off the list except the cake. We spent a whole night googling place after place. The first person we met I believe his name is Jason, (the nephew of the owner) omg what a sweetheart!! He was so patient with us! We were so excited but had not one clue about the idea we wanted or anything aside from pictures we literally googled hours before our appointment. He was so helpful in breaking everything down for us! Monica's amazing! A whole vibe!! Very laid-back, super easy going. Made the process super smooth and very fun with her dope personality. All three of use laughed all during our appointment. The delivery was great! The cake arrived in pristine condition on our special day. They set everything up for us. The communication was great. The response to emails was timely and they provided full details about what's required to moved forward and keep things on track. Very organized and thorough with everything from detail gathering to the in-person consultation/discussion and it all centers around your personal wants/needs. The cake!! MAN!! Sorella's is a great bakery that I found via a discount voucher. I initially went because of the voucher, but have returned over and over again because of the consistently delicious baked goods. I have purchased a couple of cakes from the display case. They come in two sizes: 8" and 10". Pricing is reasonable at $20 and $30 respectively. The buttercream icing is sweet and rich in flavor. My favorite is vanilla cake with vanilla icing. I've tried the sinfully chocolate virai bites and individual cakes (just enough for 1-2 people to eat). It is more of a milk chocolate taste and includes a moist chocolate cake with chocolate cream. They are big for weddings as each time I've come in a bride is selecting a cake. Maybe one day I'll be that lady getting ready for the big day. In the mean time, I pick up a cake when the craving comes. They do custom cakes also. I needed a birthday cake and showed them a picture of what I wanted. They were able to complete the cake and had the fondant that I wanted. The cake was a hit at the party. The cake required to be refrigerated (the icing would melt in the heat). Overall, I am a fan of this bakery. TIP: Come with cash. They accept credit and debit cards, but they assess a small fee to cover the charges they get on the back end. What a wonderful bakery! My now-husband and I got our wedding cake there, and as you can see in the photo I uploaded, it was beautiful! They really made our teal and orange colors pop. It was also delicious -- and though they have a sign in the store saying "Good cake isn't cheap / cheap cake isn't good" in the store, it *was* quite affordable, at least as wedding cakes go. My sister got her wedding cake from a bakery that marketed itself in a much more upscale way, but our cake was every bit as delicious and beautiful. So moist! So flavorful! People loved it and ate it up. Because our cake was set to serve precisely the number of guests we'd have, we decided to get a bumpy cake to go along with it. (We had a lot of out-of-town guests who had never heard of bumpy cake before and had been intrigued.) Here I can only report that those who got to it before me and demolished it said it was delicious. As for the wedding cake itself, as the groom had a wheat allergy, we ordered one layer with gluten free chocolate (and peanut butter mousse). He wasn't expecting much, so he was pleasantly surprised that it tasted so great, as were the guests who didn't have to eat GF but wanted the chocolate/peanut butter. (Our other two layers were cherry chip with Bavarian cream and vanilla chiffon with white mint mousse. All fantastic!) Hi my name is Kristin and I'm a dessert snob. My husband and I were thrilled to find out we were expecting and wanted to do a gender reveal cake to reveal the gender to my family. SO after seeing the GLOWING reviews as any sweet lover would do, I decided to check this place out. The owner was very lovely to speak with, and she was just as excited as I was about the arrival of our little one which made the experience that more fun. After discussing some options with her I decided to go with a chocolate cake with a colored buttercream frosting (depending on boy or girl) with pink, blue, and yellow question marks on the outside of the cake. We LOVED the cake! It was so cool to reveal to the family that we were having a little girl through the deliciousness of cake. They also have these crazy addictive deserts called 'little bites': fudgey chocolate cake, topped with chocolate mousse, covered in a chocolate shell, with a dollop of buttercream on top. OMG.
