Extremely overpriced for the quality of the cake. We've gone here for many many years and with this newest ownership, quality has gone way down hill. Girl working was very rude. Try any of the other several bakeries in the area and skip this one! read more

Not the greatest of experiences overall. First, when I called i couldn't understand when the woman answered the phone because she said the name of the place so fast, I had to ask "Excuse me... Where am I calling?" Then I was borderline chastised for asking if they made marble cake, cakes. And then the grand finale.... I got an overpriced cake that was so DRY & DENSE I was embarrassed serving it to my guests. The "buttercream" frosting was the gritty/sugar style, the mousse center was mediocre at best, and again the 'cake' part was excessively dry and dense. Overall, I've honestly had better cakes from the Meijer bakery at 1/4 the price. read more

Super disappointed. My family has been ordering from Elite Sweets for over 20 years. From birthday cakes to wedding cakes to graduation or whatever event we had, we came here. I recently ordered the destiny cake for my mom's 76th birthday. The cake was filled with thick butter cream and not a lot of cake. Also, the raspberry and mousse filling contained only one layer. They even added thick buttercream layers within the cake structure which was gross. My family won't be ordering from here again. The cake had no flavor and neither did the raspberry or mousse. read more

We enjoy their cakes, but after an unpleasant encounter we decided to go elsewhere. At a nearby restaurant a few weeks ago, an adjacent table had a yummy looking cake that I recognized as being from Elite Sweets. They told me that Elite Sweets sells their cakes at half price during their last hour of business (between 4 and 5) on Saturday. The next time I stopped into Elite I asked, and the woman working the counter confirmed it. Fast forward to today. We were nearby at about 4:30 and decided to see what cakes were still available. A different woman waited on us and, when I asked about the cakes being half price, she scoffed and said "I don't know who told you THAT!" as if I was making it up. (Umm, it was the woman standing next to you.) So, either they changed their policy within the last week (doubtful) or the discount is given selectively; either way, her tone and dismissive attitude were very off putting. I wish businesses would realize that how you make people feel matters. I will certainly think twice before going there again. read more

I called first thing in the morning on a Tuesday and they were able to get me an amazing cake by 2:30 the same afternoon. The cake was moist, decorated beautifully and they definitely didn't skimp on the chocolate. Will absolutely use again and again!! read more

My sister bought me a birthday cake from Elite Sweets like she's done in the past, and this was the WORST cake that I've ever tasted from this place or any other place. It had more icing than cake (that was so dry) and had absolutely no flavor. We've been buying cakes from this place since my sister's wedding in 1992, and recommended them to a bunch of people throughout the years. If this is kept up, I'm afraid they'll soon be a thing of the past. read more

Niece getting married, her Dad and Mom ordered six different cakes from Elite Sweets. Sadly they weren't ready when we arrived to pick them up but no worries, Sara graciously offered to deliver them to the wedding venue when they were completed. Sara had the cakes to the venue in time, the cakes and cake table looked delicious during the reception and the guests loved all six cakes. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again- excellent service, fantastic cakes! Pro Wedding tip- bring assembled cake boxes to the venue so remaining cake can be packaged and sent home with guests! What a treat the cakes were the day after the wedding! Well done Elite Cakes! read more

Elite Sweets - Six Cakes (l to r): White Raspberry, German Chocolate, Banana Nut Rum, White Alpine, Lemoncello, Grand Marnier. - Bakeries Near Me - Livonia, Michigan

I had recently ordered a custom cake from Elite Sweets of Livonia for my granddaughter's first birthday. It was in the shape of a castle with a carriage and a few little friends of the princess (like a squirrel, bunny and a fox) in front of it. It was a tiered cake, and I wanted two different flavors in the two layers. One flavor was Strawberry Shortcake and the second was a custom flavor that the owner Sarah created for us, because I wanted a bit of white chocolate and a bit of coffee in it. The party had many toddler guests besides adults, so we didn't want any alcohol in it. The flavor Sarah created was called "Chocolate Chiffon with Coffee Soak and White Chocolate Mousse (no alcohol)". Both were super moist and outstandingly delicious! Sarah gave the cake personal attention and despite a very busy schedule that day, she delivered it personally. We had over 100 guests and everyone was raving about the cake! I would strongly recommend Elite Sweets to anyone looking for a beautiful, delectable cake and great service to anyone living in and around Oakland County! read more

Just confirmed sold to new owners it's been one year and this was by far the worst customer service we've ever experienced. When we called earlier to confirm if they had any white raspberry cakes, they advise they would be making some, and when I came in no one greeted me, and, they were on their cell phones. They were all teenagers working looking t said they didn't know if they were making any white chocolate and I asked her if she could go in the back and she looked annoyed and she came back and said they were only making chocolate cake, we used to get a cake here for every birthday. We will never be returning after this poor customer, service and attitude from their front of house staff. read more

I've been getting special occasion cakes from Elite Sweets for many years. We've tried most of their flavors with my favorite being the Strawberry Shortcake. This cake was so light, moist and delicious topped with bright red strawberry glaze and fresh strawberries throughout the layers. So yummy!! NOT ANY MORE!!! The cake we picked up this week was a complete opposite of the yummy cakes of the past. After one bite I could tell that something had changed. Totally different taste, texture and not fresh at all. Check out pic of gray strawberry. We called to ask for refund and they will only give us a different cake. We'll just take the $50 loss because I wont eat anything from this bakery ever again. read more

I've only tried Hazelnut Cappuccino Cake from this place and nothing but, but the cake I tried was amazing. Oh my goodness, I really highly recommend this cake. This delicious cake consisted of repeated layers of chocolate chiffon cake and mocha cinnamon mousse loaded with hazelnut bits. The chocolate chiffon cake was nice and moist, but the star of the show was definitely the mousse layers between those chiffon cakes that were very smooth in texture with slight and pleasant crunch from the hazelnut bits in them. The mousse wasn't too sweet, it was just perfectly made and delicious. I also really liked how the whole cake was frosted with buttercream that wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. If you're ever in Livonia area in Michigan, I highly recommend trying this bakery. read more

AMAZING! We sent photos of a cake we had seen on Pinterest and Elite Sweets recreated it perfectly. They were great to work with and very affordably priced - we paid $200 and the cake was HUGE - 1 14 inch layer, 1 9 inch layer - easily enough for our 60 people. I'm very glad I took my daughter's suggestion to do the characters in fondant but use buttercream frosting - It was ABSOLUTELY delicious. read more

Amazing bakery. Kind and helpful staff. Have ordered from them for wedding showers, birthdays, family celebrations of all kinds.

We've only ordered this one cake so far but, we wil be returning customers. They were very easy to work with for a sheet cake for my son's birthday. I sent them an email including the image I wanted on it and what was to be written on it. It was a chocolate cake with with white chocolate creme in the center. It was most and delicious! Not same owner as in the past when the cakes were delicious. They might look similar but will not taste the same.

I am very disappointed ! I've been ordering cakes from elite sweets for a while ,I won't be any more the last few white Alpine cakes I've ordered had way too much chocolate mousse Center.. more mousse then cake which makes it too sweet ,my family members even agrees the last cake I ordered I want in person not ordering over the phone so I can Specify I would like a thin layer of chocolate mousse Center not heavy . Which she wrote down on my order sheet..well It didn't help !! as you can see from the picture ....they also need to improve customer service all the ladies work seem very unhappy and are rude which other reviews also said the same .I'll be ordering my cake from Iverson in Deerborn much better tasting cakes .it's a half hour away from me but worth the drive. read more

I ordered my very first cake from Elite Sweets. it was for my daughters baby shower. I was very nervous because I never had any of their cakes. I purely went on the flavors they recommended. Perfect wedding cake for our small wedding. Elite did a stellar job and the cake was not only beautiful, it was so very tasty. Definitely a highlight for our big day. They really worked with us, designing something that pleased both my dessert snob husband and little old love any sugar but hate fondant on wedding cake me. I knew I did not want fondant but I still wanted simple yet elegant looking featuring James' as usual spot on pick of fillings and they really stepped up to the plate, so much to choose from. The chocolate shavings here that decorate so many of the cakes add a lot to their designs, they are not stiff perfection or out there. I think of their cakes as more down to earth truly tasty type elegance. We love ordering their tortes for parties, so many wonderful flavor combinations, we usually end up trying a new one every time. I adore the cherry hazelnut torte, yellow chiffon cake, split and filled with hazelnut mousse and cherry filling covered with buttercream decorated with maraschino cherries and chocolate. I also really love the Bailey's Irish Cream torte which is chocolate chiffon cake, split four times and layered with chocolate Bailey's Irish Cream mousse, finished with buttercream and chocolate wedges. The fruit flavored cakes here are out of this world. The banana rum is a bit of a misnomer, it is more like an uber fresh banana cream pie in cake form. My dad's favorite cake here by far is the strawberry shortcake and it is quite dreamy I will admit. You even cannot go wrong with the simplicity of white alpine or it's opposite cake, autumn leaves. Really though I have not had a cake from here I did not love. They have so many to choose from and they all never fail to impress. fresh, delicious and perfectly done. read more

I have ordered cakes from Elite Sweets for years. They have always been my favorite bakery until recently. Ut seems they have a change in ownership and quality has gone down. I was introduced to this bakery more than 10 years ago. My favorite cakes are Bailey's Irish Cream and Cappuccino. When I was getting married I ordered from Elite Sweets, of course. We had small and intimate wedding reception so we ordered perfect two tier wedding cake. We chose Black Forest and Mocha Kahlua with butterscotch frosting. Our cake looked fantastic and tasted even better. Fresh, not too sweet, just right.Perfect. My husband and I were really happy. Our guests too. As good as it gets? You bet. read more

Been buying their Dynasty and other cakes for over 20 years. Even when we lived 45 minutes away. Even though customer service always sucks. It used to always be with it. Last week we bought what will be our last cake from them. Since our last purchase about a year ago, for some reason the quality is way down. The hefty prices (and even a long drive) really used to be worth it. But the dry (dry) cake and egregious amount of cheap white cream they now put on rather than the more expensive ganaches and chocolate shards left us more really feeling cheated. Bummed out. read more
