A really nice small bakery in Commerce. I've driven past it several times and finally decided to check them out. They had quite a few desserts like cakes, cookies, cheesecakes to choose from. They don't have the worlds biggest selection so I'd go early in the day as it seems the run out of things often. It also seems as though they only sell certain desserts on specific days. I tried the Angel Fruit Pie, Cheesecake, Chocolate Cake & Strawberry Shortcake. Each item tasted really good, sweet, but not too sweet. It seems they're known for their specialized cakes as the owners seem to be able to make just about any request into a cake. All in all a decent bakery. I'm glad they're close!

Marble cake with raspberry filling.

Wonderful bakery! They made the most beautiful and delicious cake for my son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner. I gave them an idea of the colors and they exceeded my expectations! Highly recommend!!'

Got a low sugar birthday cake here. (Chocolate) it was excellent. Chocolate flavor was perfectly balanced with moose icing and filling. It was not inexpensive but everyone at the party loved it (evern people who did not prefer moose).

Such a beautiful cake for a beautiful wedding reception...

After eloping in New York City, my parents graciously hosted an impromptu wedding reception for my husband and I in my childhood home. They ordered a custom cake from A'Fondant because I requested a Japanese-style strawberry shortcake since I grew up eating those (my mother is from Japan, and I went to Japan regularly as a child). For those of you that do not know, Japanese-style cakes are similar to French-style cakes in that they are not as sugary as cakes commonly found in the United States and often use fresh fruit and chocolates as toppings. So despite tasting rich and delicious, they're not as sinful as the typical cakes you might find at the grocery store. As you can see from my photo, the cake was GORGEOUS! We almost felt bad cutting into it since it was decorated so beautifully with the butter/whipped cream frosting, chocolate covered fruits, and chocolate plate (the plate says celebration for those that cannot read Japanese). The sponge was mild tasting yet flavorful and the icing was decadent without being too rich. It tasted authentically Japanese in my opinion. And despite strawberries not being in season, those tasted great too! All 20+ of my guests that came to my reception LOVED the cake and begged to take some home but it disappeared too quickly! My American and non-American family all loved it. My husband and I are still raving about it and hope to visit A'Fondant too when we're back in town. In addition to the quality of the cake, the staff were absolutely amazing. They accommodated our request in such short notice because they know how important it is to have a tasty cake when celebrating a new marriage. While other Japanese-style bakeries rejected our request because of the short notice and it was near the New Year holiday, these lovely workers really went the extra mile to make their customers happy. Though this bakery is a located in Canton away from the Japanese restaurant hub in Novi, it is absolutely worth the trip and this business deserves our support. They care so much about their customers and make such quality sweets. Please give them a try!!

Awesome hidden gem in Michigan. Super tasty cakes in authentic Japanese style. Be aware they have cakes only on Thu, Fri and Sat.

Truly a jewel in neighborhood! Only it's not exactly in my neighborhood, but it's definitely worth driving 20 minutes

The cookies I got from there were extraordinarily dry, the sugar cookies with icing had no flavor at all. Neither did any of the other cookies I had. The only saving grace was the chocolate cookie as it tasted like a brownie. I'd be willing to come in person and try them myself freshly made. But until then my review will be one star. It sucks it seems like there was great potential here, I guess that's why you don't eat cookies from a friend of a friend.

From cookies to tarts, to cupcakes and cookies, their goods never disappoint. Most recently I purchased a one of their cream fruit cakes for my mom's birthday and I loved it. Light vanilla sponge filled with a vanilla custard type filling and more on top adorned with a variety of fruit. A lovely summer treat that didn't leave us overly full or buzzy with too much sugar. The cakes come in two sizes and I purchased the smaller of the two (it was 8 inch, I think? Maybe 6) which admittedly was still pretty pricey so I'd probably only reach for a full cake for special occasions but if you're in the mood for a lil' treat while you're grocery shopping grab yourself a cupcake or cookie from the bakery section.

When I'm in town, it serves as a good meetup location. Their mochas are still made similarly to Caribou, which I love! (And the comfy couches still exist, too!) They are out of jasmine tea today, had to get the fiery cinnamon spice, since they have no other green tea. :/ Ordered the Denver mint coffee with oat milk, dark chocolate, no whip cream, large and a medium fiery cinnamon spiced tea. $13.68 Staff is friendly. The hot tea gets separately brewed before being placed in the to go cup. It's scalding, needed an extra sleeve. The white paper cup feels hotter than their yellow / amber sleeve. Not sure why they have two very different to go paper containers in the first place. Was really wanting a Green tea, but spiced it is. The fiery cinnamon spiced tea is okay, too weak for the medium container, only a slight hint of cinnamon. Could have definitely used another bag to make it more flavorful. My hubby said the Denver mint was decent, he's not a huge fan of their black brewed coffees so much from past visits, their flavored is the way to go here.
