It was just a 4 min walk. How could I resist. Walked in and you get the smell. It's great. The bakery case is not huge like in Ann Arbor it's about 1/4th of that. You can smell the fresh made coffees. And there are some places to sit toward the back. It's a long space. Not big. I honed in on the mango pastry and banana pastry. I have seen these on-line and was dying to try them. They basically look like the real fruit but it's pastry with mousse and the fruit on the inside. Other bakeries do this too I think it's like a fun trend. I got both and brought them home to Ohio. My partner and I cut them in half and tried them. They were both good. Each tasted like their respective fruit. I think the mango was slightly better. But I'd get both again. They are light. You'd might not think so but they are. You can eat one and it's not sickening sweet and heavy. The opposite light with a touch of the fruit sweet. Really good! Now I am curious how other bakeries do it too.

Due to a food allergy I didn't want to style the tart myself. I contacted a number of local bakeries as well as Plum Market, Whole Foods, Zingermans and more. None could accommodate my specific request. Finally, I came across sweet dreams and they were able to make me a beautiful raspberry tart to use for my images, based on the appearance, I wanted and in a timely manner. I spoke this information to a very nice older lady who prepares the gift baskets here. Although she was busy doing other tasks, she walked me through the store and hand picked each item so the basket wouldn't be overly expensive but still have quality and eye appeal. She assured me that she would make the basket beautiful and that she did! When I came back a few days later to pick up the basket, I was blown away! She did an excellent job and add a few little extras that I wasn't expecting. My friend loved her basket! I forgot the kind lady's name and she wasn't there at pick up but I'd like to thank her for her excellent work.

The cake was outrageously expensive and it looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the cake was extremely dry, and we found a hair baked into the cake. They did give us a refund, but I felt it was necessary to warn people because I don't think this was a rare happening. the employee that waited on us when we picked the cake up, had notable hair from an animal all over her uniform, which we talked about when we left after picking the cake up, only to find a hair baked into the cake. This tells me that they are not being as cautious and careful during the baking process. We will no longer be purchasing cake from this location. The price does not reflect the quality anymore. A family member took the picture of the hair and the cake and I will be posting that as soon as I get it from the family member.

All the pastries are in the refrigerated case or sitting atop of the counter for you to ogle and salivate at while you patiently wait to give your order. Everything we've tried has been delicious, almost too decadent from the cakes to croissants to sandwiches. We've also had their coffees and hot chocolate. Can't go wrong with a handcrafted beverage to warm you up or cool you down. They do provide a water carafe on the house you just have to go up and get water yourself either way the cups provided. There is a side register near the exit, not sure if that's just for coffee or pickups. Haven't investigated that yet. They have some seating inside of tables and bar seating but nothing more the a 2-3 seats per table, not a place for a large group. Outside on the patio they have large umbrellas and heat lamps depending on the weather. It's also better luck to find a table that can accommodate 4 outside, although the tables are small cafe tables to it's a little cramped for 4, perfect for 2-3. They have low and high top tables available. If you do have a larger group, there is a park a block and a half up Eton that has picnic tables and benches so you can always take your treasures to go and enjoy some people watching at the park. Ample parking is available in the lot just make sure you go in the correct driveway at the north end since it's a one way in/out situation.
