It sucks it seems like there was great potential here, I guess that's why you don't eat cookies from a friend of a friend.

Light vanilla sponge filled with a vanilla custard type filling and more on top adorned with a variety of fruit. A lovely summer treat that didn't leave us overly full or buzzy with too much sugar. The cakes come in two sizes and I purchased the smaller of the two (it was 8 inch, I think? Maybe 6) which admittedly was still pretty pricey so I'd probably only reach for a full cake for special occasions but if you're in the mood for a lil' treat while you're grocery shopping grab yourself a cupcake or cookie from the bakery section.

Due to a food allergy I didn't want to style the tart myself. I contacted a number of local bakeries as well as Plum Market, Whole Foods, Zingermans and more. None could accommodate my specific request. Finally, I came across sweet dreams and they were able to make me a beautiful raspberry tart to use for my images, based on the appearance, I wanted and in a timely manner. Let me explain what I received. You hear garlic bun and think savory...nope. I was a delightful bread bun (about the size of a bao bun) stuffed with a sweet cream cheese and sprinkled with cooked garlic. Now I know you're thinking, garlic? Yes garlic, but it was sweet and tender and not at all like garlic. The Hodduck croffle was a croissant stuffed with cinnamon sugar and nuts and then crisped up in a waffle iron. It was amazing. Now the surprise add on item, what I lovingly call the "bag of bits", was I'm guessing pieces of the croffle that were trimmed off or didn't fit fully or just cut up croffle and put into a bag. These were fantastic little bite sized bits that are totally addicting and if not already, should definitely be on the menu. My suggestion, RUN, don't walk, to try this delicious place!
