Some of my favorite childhood memories are walking in and being hit with that sweet, warm smell of fresh donuts and seeing the cases stacked with every kind you could imagine. It felt like magic as a kid. The donuts themselves? Classic, no-frills, done-right Detroit goodness. Soft, fresh, and generously glazed or filled -- the kind of donuts that don't try to be trendy or over-the-top. They don't need to. They've been holding it down for generations. That's the beauty of a true staple: consistency. You always knew exactly what you were getting, and it was always good. If I'm being honest, the only reason I'm not rushing there now is because I had SO many of their donuts growing up that I might have maxed out my lifetime quota . I asked if there could be one that was made and not sliced (as we have decorations for the cake) and I was told that if I wanted that option, it needed to be ordered one week in advance!!! How "fresh" are these cheesecakes if ALL I wanted was for one not to be sliced?? Very random and also ZERO flexibility from the person I spoke to one the phone. I'm flying in from DC to Detroit to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday... Last thing we need is terrible service and an inflexible business for something that is a minor request!

Their vegan ice cream is out of this world ever since they changed their base from rice milk to coconut and pea protein. It's so creamy and the best vegan ice cream I ever had. Follow Treat Dreams on social media where they post their updated weekly flavors. Occasionally they have bizarre flavors like Lobster Bisque, Lemon extra Virgin Olive Oil and Bacon. Lol. They are most famous for their Kookie Monster flavor...a nostalgic blue color that's favorite of both kids and adults. You can find their food truck at various events in the area, food truck rallies at the Royal Oak Farmers Market and Urbanrest Brewing Co.
