    Dry

Got some donut for work. Everything is bigger size than regular donut shop or bakery. Is bigger better? No. Taste kinda dry. Taste like grocery store donut but size is bigger.

I've been to Heritage Bakery a handful of times now. The staff is always friendly, and the place has that amazing bakery smell that pulls you right in. They seem to have a lot of regulars coming and going, which is a good sign. I've tried quite a few of their donuts and pastries, and while it's a solid spot if you're in a hurry or craving something sweet, some things could be better. The donuts often feel a bit dry, almost like they weren't made fresh that day. The Danish wasn't quite what I expected--kind of dry and not as soft or dense as I'd hoped, but maybe that's just my personal taste. It's not bad, but it's not the greatest either.

This is a great bakery. Very authentic Paczki. Friendly and speedy service. Worth the wait on Fat Tuesday!

This is another one of our favorite new spots for sweet tooth satisfaction! Today we got a few more goodies. The churro cruller was absolutely decadent!! We got a few more goodies for after leftovers later.

Craving an Apple fritter yesterday. At 10AM it did not seem especially fresh; nor did it seems to be a day-old pastry. It left an artificial sweetener taste that lingered for hours.

Dried out but suppose to be fresh Hallah bread.

The cakes are still fantastic but the Hallah bread is still dry. They gave me a free one because the first one was dry and hard but the one they gave me today as a replacement is also dry. However the cake I got today for my staff was so cute and moist.

My other favorite cupcake is the Vanilla Latte, it has such great flavor and just the right amount of coffee in it too! When we got there it was packed with customers at almost every table. The buttercream frosting they use for the cupcakes is the perfect amount of sweetness! You definitely need to stop by for a little dessert date! It's even a great place to go on a Daddy Daughter Date! They also serve lunch and dinner there as well. One of the images shows their cupcake menu! Why are you still reading this???? This was highly recommended by one of my besties who frequents Just Baked personally at least once a week. She tries to bring a new person in whenever she can. On this lunch experience she brought me in. This is black owned bakery and cafe. It was a pleasure to actually meet the owners Jannet and Martin Earnest (Kappa owner). Divine 9 representing for a dine-in experience. The menu is pretty vast with bagels, breakfast sandwiches, salads, ice cream, cupcakes, wraps, and yes my favorite, carrot cake. I had the Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich, chips, unsweetened tea and a carrot cake cupcake. Winning! Everything was delicious! Just Baked was voted best cupcakes in 2022. They also were voted the Best of Southfield for two consecutive years in 2023 & 2024. You can find them just a traffic circle drive across from the amazing Southfield Public Library. It's worth the drive!

The other treats, such as the cake and doughnuts, don't even taste GF, especially good for those starting their GF journey. Things that need to be improved: 1. $18 for a sandwich?! Either make it $15, or add a drink and/or side. Though the sandwich was the perfect GF meal on my long drive, the price vs value needs some consideration. I can easily go to Jimmy John's and get an Unwich for about half that price. 2. Freshness of product. Purchased a cherry cake slice, and part of me wishes I didn't. Definitely tasted old, like it should be sold at 50% off or not sold at all. Though I can tell from it their cakes are probably lovely, the lack of freshness was a turn off. 3. Doughnut choices: labeled matcha vanilla, though if you blindfolded me, I would say they tasted just like vanilla. Was it a good vanilla doughnut? Yes. But I bought it for the matcha, which was not visually present. Also shouldn't have to purchase 6 doughnuts! I am one person. 4. Ingredients. While I enjoyed the bread, I wish they chose avocado or olive oil, instead of canola. Looking forward to coming back and trying the pizza next door! And getting a fresh birthday treat!
