This place has been somewhat of a hit or miss for me at times. I've been going here for the past year and some, and for it being so close to my home it has been really convenient to walk to. Why a hit or miss? It depends on who I get sometimes. I have had nails done where they were beautiful and gotten lots of compliments on and lasted for a month... and others were when they grew out they would latch easily onto my hair when I showered.... no bueno. However, prices are fair in comparison to places in the malls. With tip for my fills, I usually go for around the $58 dollar mark. Tip: call ahead of time and book an appointment. I have had times where I did book an appointment and still waited close to 30 minutes with me arriving on time. I've just gotten into the habit off calling half an hour in and being "hey, how busy are you guys" and walking in if they say they are free. read more

We've been coming for years for Mani pedis. The service is always prompt. Massage chairs, hot foot soak, leg scrubs and massage makes it a very pleasant experience. I love getting my nails done here. They are wonderful, professional and thorough. I had an ingrown toenail that Anna dealt with gently and easily. The store is always very clean, incubator on hand. No lunch dishes in the washroom (I have seen in other places) It's the little things like hot towels after a leg massage and the fact the ladies are always kind even though I rarely come the same staff have been here for years. I have tried lots of nail shops in Edmonton but never took the time to write a review. In all honesty none of them were worth it till now! This location is very new. The location is small but the place is so clean. My nail tech was so detail orientated and her tools were spotless. I feel sometimes reluctant to use fast drop in nail salons but this one is very well maintained. No nail dust insight. I got a gel removal, manicure and gel polish. My nail tech was so thorough and got every piece of cuticle and buffed/shaped my nails perfectly. I will not hesitate to go back in fact and rebooked for 2 weeks from now! read more

I wasn't sure about this place but decided to try it because my friend goes there all the time. I was not disappointed. Prices are amazing, staff is very friendly and I got a really nice set of bio gel nails that looked amazing. I decided to go back to treat my daughter and myself to pedicures. My aunty and I were here before and were happy with our service and price so my aunt returned again for the same service since it was a good experience. The second visit they asked her a lot of questions of where we were from, what we did and what kind of payments we make (very strange business practice). They were obviously fishing for information and when she check out the price increased significantly even though we got the same service as before. My aunt felt discriminated against, I was upset since I was the one who brought her there the first time, so we will not support or return to a place where they discriminate where we come from and who we are then are charged even more money because of it. This is my go-to place to get my nails done. It's nothing fancy but they're quick and do an efficient job. I tried a couple other nail places in Edmonton and the polish doesn't hold up to Sophie's. I don't have to worry when I go away on vacation for a few weeks that my nails will chip - didn't happen yet anyways! They talked a lot of vietnamese and like 70% misunderstood what I was talking about. I made appointment and came on time, but they made me wait for half an hour in the line. What's the point then to get an appointment?

Decided to try this place today, I had a read a few reviews and they were pretty good and it's close to my home! Overall it was just a okay experience, I got a mani/pedi with shellac. It felt very rushed and now that is showing on my nails. The edges look like they're ready to peel off and they're not overly smooth. The lady said maybe 10 words to me the whole time making the whole experience boring and awkward. I paid $90 total with tip and I'm not very happy. All the staff in there weren't very friendly either. To say the least, i wouldn't go back and it'll have to do the trick for my upcoming trip. Go somewhere else if you actually want good quality. read more

The water for my pedicure was too hot. I had to ask twice for the staff to add cold water. The Technician cut so deep in the inside of my nail bed, I started to bleed. When I went to leave after paying my bill, there was 3 Police vehicles waiting outside looking at me. read more

This is my new favorite place. For a few reasons. It's close to my house which is always nice. My nails are damn near perfect! The technician didn't cut corners and she listened to exactly how I wanted them. And it was inexpensive. I am defiantly going to be a regular here. They only thing I'm going to complain about is the salon felt dated. I'll recommend this place to anyone looking for a inexpensive nail place. read more

I really like Sophie's Nails!! I used to go to a more upscale, more expensive nail salon, which was great but the girls were too hard to get into. I had to book months in advance, when in reality I want to go in when i'm sick of my nails looking like crap. Tried a couple different places, but now i've found my spot! Started with cold water for pedicure. When I pointed it out staff only added hot water but not enough to really be warm enough. Terrible massage of feet, or rather shins oww! Candy wrappers at my seat from past client and as I looked around I could see a layer of dirt coating anything close to the floor, as if cleaning or dusting is not done on a daily bases. Normally I absolutely love this place but I went yesterday and it was the worst experience I have had in my life. The nail tech kept stabbing me with her nails around the edges of fingers so badly that my fingers now hurt the next day. She did 5 coats of polish and the today it's literally peeling off and sticky. It is really frustrating when you pay $$ and expect a good quality service. And it turned out like crap. No reason it should be peeling and sticky the next day. So disappointed. I gave her a $2 tip she didn't even deserve that. Normally I would tip $5+ but it was awful. I went here for an acrylic fill. They were able to get me in right away, which was the only good thing about this place. The nail technician was not friendly at all. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. Halfway through, the shape wasn't even close to what I had shown so I asked her if she wanted to see the picture again. She snapped at me and said she knew what she was doing and would fix it later. After painting it, I checked my nails and the polish was uneven, they were crooked, and she had put part of the nail on my cuticle/skin. When I asked her to fix it she said that was just how my cuticle was. ?? I had to get my nails redone 5 days later because my thumb nail broke, and every time I ran my fingers through my hair, the nail would catch and pull some of my hair out! Obviously, I went somewhere else to get them fixed. Save yourself some time, stay away from this business. read more

Went there recently with friend for pedicures, I took my own nail polish, but noticed only got one tub of water for entire pedi, and girl used only one towel throughout! Very disappointing practice as other places u get much more water changes and towels, as well NO paraffin treatment, was very rushed! BOTH Nail gals asked far too many personal questions of us and never even introduced themselves, When my friend noted her gal never cut or cleaned excessive skin her gal got argumentative with her! I wanted another half leg service and bikini clean up and asked for a deal as hardly any hair to remove MGR said 60$ I said no I will be paying for 2 pedis 60.00 10 'in max job she would not cut a deal, MONEY GREEDY CUTTING STEPS IN PECUS WILL NOT EVER BRING ME IR FRIEND BACK PLUS WE WILL SPREAD THE BAD NEWS TOO!!! So my mom, my sister and I went to get our nails done. My sister and I shellac mani pedi and my mom gel nails only. The place seemed rather clean and well kept; my issues were that not one of the workers spoke full fluent English I tried to ask my technician a question and they were all scrambling additionally I was given a towel for my lap and I'm not at all sure why I was wearing a dress that covered everything important. They also had no designs that I'm aware of, asked for them 3 times and gave up, the rhinestones are reasonable at 50 cents each. Cost me 220 for it, I was expecting our mani pedis to be 35-40 and my mom's gel nails to be 60 which he asked if it was ok to begin with. Will I come back? Not a chance my mother's gel nails were uneven, blotchy, sticky and full of bubbles not to mention took 2 hours, my pedicure was fine but one of my fingernails bubbled as well, looked like they were already growing out from right after i had them done, my stisters pedi was also ok but her fingernails were chipping the next day and when we went back they said they could remove or do again they wouldn't give a credit or money back. I also called to talk to a manager or the owner and they just basically said not our problem not available.Stay away from these guys. They increase prices without telling you do a poor job and basically tell you to go screw yourself because they get lots of customers unbelievable. read more
