Looks like these are my new favorite chicken tacos!! I came here 3 times while on vacation. Soooo flavorful!! It's a permanent food truck with an outdoor area complete with benches and other food trucks. Everyone in our party was able to find something to eat..plus there is a bar a couple spots over. The band was warming up...but we were leaving so I can't vouch for them. Service the first time was amazing. The guy was sooooo nice and helpful. He has patience explaining the menu. Beware...service the next 2 times wasn't all that friendly from the women who work here. Buuuut...that won't stop me from returning. This was a disappointing surprise. A friend whose palate I really trust told me this food truck has some of the best quesabirria tacos in town. But I think whoever was in charge of the birria that night (at the dogwood location) forgot to skim the fat off the top? The consommé tasted and felt like a cup of grease. And every bite I took of the tacos launched more grease onto my plate. I was at a drag show going through napkins like crazy wiping all the grease off my hands and face. I had to go back and get even more napkins because I had soaked through my first 3. I have ordered many birria tacos in my life and I know they don't have to be this way. Ordered birria nachos- which consisted of Costco corn chips (the rectangle kind) smothered in orange canned queso & about very little meat. Gone is the white queso I used to love on their salads and tacos, gone is the value (there was literally 1/2c of meat on the plate), gone are the squeeze bottles of their sauces. (For context, I asked for some hot sauce and the gal who took my order said it "cost extra" - because i didn't order a "full meal" this is just stupid. And she was quite rude about it. Savory and tangy marinaded pork, thick handmade corn tortillas (purple and yellow) topped with fresh pico and served with lime and salsa verde ... chef's kiss! Had their tuna salad during a visit to Rivers Place. It was so good. Very fresh ahi and avocado. Serving size was very generous.

The staff was polite and the food came quickly. I ordered: Shrimp Ceviche and chips $15 - As you can see in the photo there is barely any shrimp in there. They came with a bag of Mission brand tortilla chips Taste was decent but my expectations were higher for $14. Carnitas Burrito $14 - The burrito was big. The carnitas was good. It only comes with beans, rice, meat, and a little salsa. For $14 I was disappointed but the taste was decent. Came with two different sauces. One was straight up Tapitio. The other tasted like a bottled salsa as well. Overall it seems like most of their food is simply done and not a lot of scratch made items. For $29 plus tip this was incredibly underwhelming. Oh my gosh! first off, bring your appetite! We ordered the Burria tacos and the Chile Rellano burrito. The burrito is massive! Gorgeous, but we are saving it for later because the tacos came 4 to an order and they weren't tiny street tacos! We ended up splitting that for dinner and saving the burrito for tomorrow. OMG. Everything is amazing. Soooooo good. Birria stew is off the hook. Soo tender, soo flavorful. Compliments to the Chef. Pastor is light and tender but the chipotle and the roasted hot sauce makes it pop. The sauces.... OMG the sauces. You have got to try them all. The Serrano was deeply flavorful, the chipotle is out of the world amazing good (straight up they need to bottle that). The avocado sauce is the perfect counter balance to the heat of the tomatillo. You just switch from hot to cool like the chef engineered this to work that way (you know they did). The veggie bowl is amazing. NOT Boring. Its has deep flavors. We got it as a bowl with no rice and wifey was like, "Where has this been all my life. ?????" She was stoked. The feta in this dish make it transition from authentic Mexican to mediterranean infusion for a mouth-full of love and ambition making you crave every single next bite.
