We had the penthouse which is the top unit the largest. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths large living room amazing fully loaded kitchen and HUGE deck with patio furniture and table and chairs. They have everything stocked - coffee, all the appliances, pita and pans, washer dryer, towels, soap, bathroom and accessories. My new family mother in law and sister in law rented the other two units. The front one has cute sitting area and the back patio. Everything about this amazing and we highly recommend if you rent all units for families, wedding parties, or couples. Bryon the owner or house manager is so sweet and attentive. I saw him the first day and he was so nice! We could not have found a better place. The owner, Lisa, and her husband Jon, are the nicest people ever. We didn't talk to Jon much, but Lisa is amazing, the kind of person you think, "I want to know her as a friend!" She's funny, gregarious, thoughtful, and truly a multi-talented person. You can book her to do Reiki or massage in your room, she's a CMT. She has so many interests and talents. She's also a vegetarian, so if you need vegetarian recommendations for the area, don't hesitate to ask. She makes you a breakfast of fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, croissants, jam, butter, and scones and leaves it on your patio. There is a kitchen in the cottage, with coffee maker, and she has Peet's coffee for you. She also includes thoughtful gestures, like milk and creamer, sugar, snacks, water, and a bottle of wine from their own vineyard. We opened the fridge to find brie and The Girl and the Fig fig jam, which went nicely with our wine. I liked it so much I went to the Girl and the Fig and bought more jam to take home. The cottage is a 1 bedroom, with a king bed, full jacuzzi bath and shower, pull out sofa, TV, DVD, cable, iPod docking station. I slept on the sofa, but knowing pullouts aren't comfortable I brought an aerobed and put it on top of the sofa, which worked great for me. You are next to a vineyard. A little one. So don't think you are stranded in the midst of a field, you aren't. There's grounds to walk, a bocci ball court, swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, and you are 5 minutes driving distance from downtown Sonoma. We went out to lunch or dinner, and the other meal got fruit, tomatoes, cheese, bread, and meats and ate on the patio. We also drank copious amount of wine. It was divine. It's quiet. You may hear a rooster, the donkey next door braying, but that's about it. You can see all the stars at night. This is a perfect place for a honeymoon, girls' weekend, anniversary, proposal...anything! I can even see a wedding here, with the vines in the background, and the couple staying here for the honeymoon. Lisa's hospitality and the beauty of the area need no further accolades. Stay here. Alexandra's Plaza Suite is a delightful place stay in the Wine Country…read more It's located just a block from the plaza at the center of town so very convenient to shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms and some interesting historical sites dating back to the 1800s. Despite being so close to the Plaza, the property is slightly off the road at the end of a long driveway, so it's very quiet and private. The property contains two living spaces on either side of a large garage. In the larger house live the friendly and gracious owners and hosts, Cathie and Gene. They give the guests complete privacy but are fully available should any needs arise. And if you visit the Mission San Francisco Solano on the Plaza, you might be lucky enough to have Gene as your docent tour leader! The suite is a small but well appointed one bedroom apartment, complete with an open area with a living/TV area, dining area, and kitchen. At the end of the hall past the bath is a bedroom with a big closet and a door. I mention the door since many places that call themselves "suites" have bedrooms without a close-able door! Outside is a covered patio with a roomy table and comfortable chairs, along with places to sit in the sun. The property is filled with fruit trees, flowers and vegetables. Cathie and Gene have put a lot of thought into comfort and aesthetics, with attractive and comfortable furniture as well as lots of thoughtful extras like a large supply of bed pillows with styles to suit every taste. The bedroom in particular is extremely quiet and comfortable; great for sleeping in if you're so inclined. You'll find books and games, snacks and drinks, toiletries and wine country information, all in a wide variety and in plentiful supply. The overall feel is that of a private home designed for the comfort of guests. With lots of windows and several fans, it's easy to be comfortable with purely natural air (which is my personal preference). For the occasional very hot day, there is a recently installed air conditioner that is both silent and efficient; this can be very nice after a day out and about in the blazing summer sun. The place is a great find, close to the square, and has everything you'll need for a weekend trip! We chanced upon this place on Google and decided to give it a shot. Cathie was extremely sweet and offered us an additional night for free. When we told her we'd be arriving super late, she left the lights on so we could check in on our own. The entrance had our names written out, and there was even scones and milk in the kitchen for us. We talked with them quite a bit during our stay, and they were great with their recommendations on things to do in the area. Gene even gave us a sampling of his wines AND a bottles to take to the restaurant and home. Now for the house - it is very well equipped with a living room, kitchen, and bedroom. The bed is comfortable, and they have a huge selection of pillows. The living/ dining area was perfect for two people, with a couch and dining table. Everything is super clean, and well thought out. I would not want to stay anywhere else on my future trips to Sonoma.

So, I'm a bit apprehensive when people tell me they won't be there to let me in - that I can just follow the instructions! Yet, it was as easy as they explained. So, thank you Gayle for answering my repetitive questions! We saw a living social getaway and decided to jump on the opportunity. I' glad we did. The cottages themselves were charming, spacious, and clean. They came with a number of games and books. Even though they don't have anyone on site, getting in and out was really easy. The size of the cottages would actually facilitate a family really well. Unfortunately, we couldn't figure out how to work the tv, but weren't there to watch it anyways, so no worries there. The deal came with a bike rental and percentage off on one item in the store. While in theory it's great to bike around Sonoma, I would note that Napa Street is a pretty major thoroughfare into town (one of those that say the speed limit is 25 but everyone drives 40). It might not have been a big deal had the bikes we got been road bikes instead of mountain bikes and were in better shape! I'd also recommend getting some new locks that don't stick and teaching the staff in front to be a little more helpful. Alas, we did take advantage on the first day to bike around town. Definitely a good way to get around, even if getting back is a bit harry! Overall, a good experience. I'd definitely consider it again on our next trip to Sonoma.

Cottage Sonoma agreed to a longer rental as they knew we were in a bind, but I believe they are normally shorter term vacation rentals. The house is wonderful. It is the most prepared and stocked vacation rental I have ever been in. The owner's have tried to think of everything that could improve a guests experience. A kitchen you can truly cook in - and we love to cook. The house gets a ton of natural light and has a warm feeling to it. It is located about a 1 minute walk from the Sonoma Square so the location basically couldn't be better. The back yard is gorgeous, private, and the hot tub works wonderfully. Would definitely rent again!

There is a nice and comfortable bedroom in a little alcove and a lovely comfortable bathroom with a clawfoot tub. You have your own private deck with a table for picnics and lounge chairs for reclining and reading. They also have a private tennis court that you can play on if you bring your own racquet and tennis shoes. They also have bikes you can borrow, even if they are a little old and dusty :) The place is beautifully decorated and kept up impeccably. It's about a mile and a half from Sonoma Square, but we walked there without a problem (as long as you're up for a walk). A really lovely, romantic and secluded spot.

The Inn had contactless check-in and out, which gave it such a nice, secluded ambiance. The inn is literal steps away from downtown Sonoma Square. When I say they thought of everything, they thought of everything! There's a sweet little coffee and refrigerator alcove with a dining table, water, milk, utensils, extra towels, and toilet paper just outside the rooms for you to grab when needed. The rooms were completely spotless and fresh and clean. When it was raining they put out an umbrella by our door which was amazing because w forgot to bring one! The breakfasts each morning were so beautiful looking and delicious, I personally love sweets so I did not mind the pastry, fruit, and yogurt/granola every day delivered to our patio. The rooms also include tea, a hot water kettle, dishes, lots of towels and a large closet for clothes, and a tea candle lit fire place which was super cute. The bathroom had a HUGE tub/shower and a shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser which was nice! And our room had its own patio with chairs to sit at. Our stay began on a Thursday and had the place to ourselves the whole evening! We didn't hear any guests arriving/leaving from our room also. We will be back!

The location of bungalows 313 is also perfect as it is 1/2 block from the Sonoma Square. We enjoyed strolling around and in the square, especially checking out the shops and the Rose garden. We also enjoyed some very relaxing time in the courtyard of the bungalows, where there is comfortable seating, a fire pit, a pleasant fountain and a bocce court. We highly recommend.
