Once upon a time, just to spoil myself I would buy some lunch with my meager savings. As a college student, I often brought my own lunch, but one day I thought hey, why not. s'ONO! first opened up on campus my last year of college. My first poke bowl and certainly not my last. It opened doors for me in the Poke world. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Poke. For the price, it was piled with​ vegetables​ and tuna. You can opt out the rice, but I love rice. At the off chance that I was looking for lunch ideas, I remembered S'Ono offered cooked foods too. I browsed through the menu and saw some basic items like loco moco and salads. I ended up ordering the spicy pork with a side salad and mac salad along with a side of kim chi. I'm not sure whose bright idea it was but putting mac salad and salad with cooked pork and warm rice is disgusting. Both the mac salad and salad were lukewarm from the heat of the rice/pork. Aside from this small mishap, the spicy pork (aka bulgogi) was tasty as was the rice. The salad dressing was also good too even though the salad was a bit wilted and lukewarm. I had leftovers today and letting the kim chi sit for a couple days brought on more character and that was the star of the meal. I didn't touch the remaining mac salad though. It took awhile to find S'Ono. If you're directionally-challenged like me, then you might take awhile to find it.. The location is inside the Tivoli building. It's on campus in the first floor food court area, which isn't convenient for non-University folks but, it's okay, there's plenty of meter parking nearby. My family and I ordered their volcano chicken, short ribs, and Jeju poke bowl along with accompanied sides of mac salad, glass noodles, miso soup, and a side order of spam musubi. My husband thought the volcano chicken lacked flavor but he said the spam musubi helped add to it. The short ribs were OK, nothing out of the norm. However, the Jeju poke was spicy, delicious, and tasted quite fresh! There were plenty of salmon and tuna chunks as well as fresh veggies too plus avocado. Sides all tasted as expected but the mac salad was slightly too garlicky and sweet for my taste. Spam musubis had a bit too much rice and fell apart quickly in our hands.. although still very yummy! I would definitely come back for just their poke bowls. Except I wish they had their own location that wasn't inside a college campus since seating may vary depending on the amount of students, professors, etc. dining in the food court. It seems most tables are fitted for two. So you may have to move chairs and tables if you're a larger party. S'Ono? So Yeah! Try it. Especially if you're craving inexpensive Hawaiian dishes, or poke bowls, where the portions are more than generous and filling. read more

I come here quite often due to me going to the Auraria campus and I must say every time I'm on campus I have to get my food here. Me and my wife usually order the island beef Shaka which is just the rice and meat. The meal is fairly filling for its price, but my main issue comes with the meat. It's not terrible, it's actually quite good, it's just that it doesn't provide that juicy taste. The sauce they add on top of it makes its slick and flavorful, but the meat itself doesn't provide that explosion of tenderness. Chewy but a good chewy I must say. Overall the place is amazing. I believe it's a good price for a good amount of food. Service is always on point too. Though if you are looking for a quiet place to eat around, then the food court will not be your place. I ordered their spamy eggs w/ chirashi sauce for breakfast - it's probably the best breakfast item I've had around this area. It's simple, good, and the taste isn't overpowering. Things that I'm looking for in a breakfast. From their lunch menu, the katsu chicken and spicy pork are great. I don't usually get raw fish but I'm willing to try their various poke dishes, which I'm sure they're well-known for. My favorite place to eat in the Tivoli!! It feels healthier than the Americanized Chinese spot and McD's, tastier than the sandwich and salad places, and less bloat-inducing than the pizza spot. Service is quick and friendly. The price point is really affordable (a shaka bowl is under $6 and pretty filling). Sometimes, i share a combination (protein, rice, and two sides) plus an extra side with a friend for lunch and it's PLENTY. I've had the short ribs, the chicken katsu, the curry (chicken), and the tofu curry. The loco moco bowl is a decent choice too, with a perfectly runny egg sitting on top of a hamburger patty, and a nice bed of rice. Do NOT forget to get some sriracha sauce! As for sides, my friend loves their macaroni salad and the potato salad. I think they're ok; I don't love mayonnaise. but I could eat an entire container of their glass noodles (jap chae). I wish they'd offer the jap chae with some of the different proteins as a regular menu item! I don't know why I"m being stingy with the stars. Maybe so that other folks don't flock here. Ordered via Eat24. Everything was a little weird. Got the fried shrimp lunch. The shrimp weren't awful, but weren't great. The slaw I got as a side was WAY off, to the point that I wouldn't eat it. It tasted a bit like fish that had gone off. Weird for slaw. The potato salad side was probably the best thing I got, even though cucumber in potato salad was way weird. The miso soup was off. Miso is miso, but this was funky. My side of curry was....soup. generic curry flavor (and, not much of it), with the texture of a thin soup. The fried dumplings arrived undercooked and barely fried, ice cold to boot. Overall, I get why Auroria campus students get excited over it - it /was/ a bargain. I got the mega poke this time and oh my gosh, was it good (and I took the extra 30 seconds to take a photo this time!). The bowl is piled high with hawaiian style ahi tuna, a spicy tuna mix, crab salad, lettuce, avocado, daikon mix, and seaweed salad. I opted out of the rice this time for a healthier option, but it looks like you can switch out the rice for a house salad (nice!). I was in town staying at the Marriott Springhill Suites, and came across this place on Yelp when I was looking for lunch. I love poke bowls and ordered the Hawaiian bowl online, super easy-peasy. Finding the place was a little tougher than placing the order; I didn't realize it was on the college campus, although I guess I should have been able to tell from the map. I walked around a bit before figuring out it's actually inside the student union. From the way I came, I had to go into the Tivoli building and walk down the stairs to get to the food court area. If you can't get to a lunch place in Hawaii, eat at S'ono. Now they've added Slurps! which has delicious, inexpensive pho. You get an amazing amount of delicious soup for just $8.25. Finding the two eateries can be tricky if you aren't a CCD or Metro or UCD student. They are in the downstairs food court of the Tivoli building on the Auraria campus. Come get lunch, then a pint at the brewery in the same building. Then walk over to the Emmanuel gallery on campus for some art. It's a cool date! read more

Just ordered some food and it was super late to arrive. Half of the items I ordered were lacking ingredients listed on the menu. The glass noodles do not have vegetables, the house salad was just lettuce and a small cup of dressing. Both items were supposed to have carrots, peppers and cucumbers but what I got had none of those things. The shrimp tempura was soggy as well. I contacted the restaurant to get my money back but the restaurant refused. Such a crappy experience. Waited a long time to get food that was half of what it should have been. Their Poke Bowls are actually pretty damn good. Out of the some 10 times i've been here, only had one bowl I complained about, and they promptly gave me a new one. Their shaka bowl combo is pretty good/cheap, especially the Short Ribs. I personally prefer getting a Combo, with Short Ribs, Kimchi(korean spicy pickled vegetables), and Japchae(also known as glass noodles). Considered a fusion restaurant, it has elements of Korean, Japanese, and Hawaiian cuisine. Their stew(I think it's called O'hana?) is pretty good too, albeit it might be a bit spicy for some people. Price range is decent, but it's what's holding it back from being a 5 star in my book. 13$ for a poke bowl is kinda expensive, in my opinion haha. Great for a quick luxury bite! read more
