It took awhile to find S'Ono. If you're directionally-challenged like me, then you might take awhile to find it.. The location is inside the Tivoli building. It's on campus in the first floor food court area, which isn't convenient for non-University folks but, it's okay, there's plenty of meter parking nearby. My family and I ordered their volcano chicken, short ribs, and Jeju poke bowl along with accompanied sides of mac salad, glass noodles, miso soup, and a side order of spam musubi. My husband thought the volcano chicken lacked flavor but he said the spam musubi helped add to it. The short ribs were OK, nothing out of the norm. However, the Jeju poke was spicy, delicious, and tasted quite fresh! There were plenty of salmon and tuna chunks as well as fresh veggies too plus avocado. Sides all tasted as expected but the mac salad was slightly too garlicky and sweet for my taste. Spam musubis had a bit too much rice and fell apart quickly in our hands.. although still very yummy! I would definitely come back for just their poke bowls. Except I wish they had their own location that wasn't inside a college campus since seating may vary depending on the amount of students, professors, etc. dining in the food court. It seems most tables are fitted for two. So you may have to move chairs and tables if you're a larger party. S'Ono? So Yeah! Try it. Especially if you're craving inexpensive Hawaiian dishes, or poke bowls, where the portions are more than generous and filling.

I come here quite often due to me going to the Auraria campus and I must say every time I'm on campus I have to get my food here. Me and my wife usually order the island beef Shaka which is just the rice and meat. The meal is fairly filling for its price, but my main issue comes with the meat. It's not terrible, it's actually quite good, it's just that it doesn't provide that juicy taste. The sauce they add on top of it makes its slick and flavorful, but the meat itself doesn't provide that explosion of tenderness. Chewy but a good chewy I must say. Overall the place is amazing. I believe it's a good price for a good amount of food. Service is always on point too. Though if you are looking for a quiet place to eat around, then the food court will not be your place. It is on a college campus after all!

IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA | Hands down my favorite lunch spot to go to when I am attending classes down at The Auraria Campus. When it comes to the food, there are so many options! You know I love options. Some of my favorite things to order is the Hawaiian Poke Bowl- "Ahi Tuna, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, Avocado, onions, chili pepper, sesame seeds & poke sauce". By far one of the best Poke Tuna I have had in Denver. There is also great lunch specials where you pick a 'protein" plus two sides! I usually order the Island Beef with Steamed Rice and a side of Glass Noodles & Mac Salad. The portions are great as well! Trust me, you have to try it! I come here at least twice a week when I'm on campus!

The curry tofu and glass noodles

*this place is great. Just avoid the tofu curry. The beef was delicious! Nice and tender with a adequate amounts of sauce and rice. The glass noodles are full of flavor and veggies, mostly onion.. don't know if you are into that or not. The coleslaw is some of the best coleslaw I have actually had. It is definitely worth a thought as a side on their combo plate. The curry is another story... Sadly it was bland as hell. Just kind of spicy with a hint, I'm not joking, a Hint of curry flavor. The tofu was almost watery, it was firm, just as though it had been put into be kept hot in tap water, no broth. It was definitely not kept in the curry... The potatoes were good though.. though!

You can try to park at the free parking, off the street or on the street. It was Sunday 3 pm and parking was no problem. Ambiance. Very Japanese like feeling with knick knacks every where with banners, akachõchin. Sushi bar takes one side and also a small bar to the back. Drink menu featured several imported Japanese bottled beers on top of the common ones at reasonable price. Ended up getting the house salad, chicken yakitori, spicy tonkatsu ramen and yaki ika. All tasted good, no complaints. Spicy tonkatsu ramen had rich broth, chatsu was grilled and plenty. Repeat

The menu leans classic izakaya--small plates meant for sharing--but everything comes out with care and confidence. Skewers are grilled properly, not rushed, with just enough char to matter. The ramen is rich without being heavy, and the broth tastes like someone actually paid attention to it for hours. Even the simpler dishes feel deliberate, which isn't always the case with izakaya-style menus. The atmosphere hits a nice balance: lively without being chaotic, cozy without feeling cramped. It works just as well for a casual dinner as it does for lingering over drinks. Speaking of drinks, the sake and Japanese whiskey selection is thoughtful and well-paired to the food. Tatsu doesn't try to reinvent Japanese cuisine--it just executes it well.

Uncle makes me want to move to Denver! To start the ambiance is really chill and inviting with warm lighting and offers countertop as well as table seating. Our server was amazing and explained the menu well and made some recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. All of the sushi was fresh and had excellent pairing of accompaniments. The only dish that I remember being a miss was the soft shell crab buns. The proportion of bun to interior was off and there was way too much mayo. Everyone got their own ramen which they seemed to love. I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi per our servers recommendation and I am still thinking about it weeks later. It was a curry/ramen mix and had big chunks of trumpet mushrooms in it and the perfect amount of spice that I love. Denverites I am jealous you have Uncle and anyone visiting make sure to add it to your list!

When I walked in, it felt more like a club than a traditional restaurant. The music was loud, the energy was high, and the crowd was definitely on the younger side. Honestly, I've never really experienced anything quite like it--part restaurant, part nightlife vibe--but it was kind of cool in its own way. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered sushi along with a seaweed salad and an Old Fashioned. The food was actually really good--fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot after the show. That said, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing dinner, this probably isn't your place. But if you're open to a lively atmosphere and something a little different, it's a fun experience. I enjoyed my food, soaked in the vibe, and left glad I gave it a try.

We also got the fried rice, it is served with the staff, mixing the yolk of an egg into the dish at the table in front of you. This made it so rich and delicious, and felt like a show. I was really impressed by the rice itself too, nothing simple about it. The flavors were so dynamic, and everything was cooked to perfection. We also had the black miso cod, this might have been the highlight dish. It was so tender and supple, melting at the touch of a fork and even better in your mouth.
