Amazing is my first thought. My second thought ohhhhhhhh I am sooo stuffed! With that being said you now know what to expect. Some other things you can expect is $9.99 all you can eat ribs (wet or dry), pulled pork, sliced ham, turkey leg and chicken. I went 2 times in 3 days. First time I got the ribs both dry and wet. I liked the wet better. Given you are able to make anything wet with the sauces that are sitting on the table. The ribs are fall off the bone, meaty, and very lean. For my sides I got the baked beans. Which were very hearty and bbqy. I am pretty sure they stole them from my grandmother or g-ma used to work here. I'm going with the first one! My other side I was the cole slaw! The slaw was terrific. Day 2- i though I would mix it up a little and I got the pulled pork. It was seasoned very well. Just enough spice to compliment the meat. The pork was very tender. My sides this time were corn on the cob and mac and cheese. The corn was out of this world. The kernels on this cob were ginormous! The mac was super creamy. Drinks- It was a dry town so no booze! So that sucked! I did have ice-t. None of that sweet shit either just good ole ice-t. Everyone looked at me like I had 3 heads. Sauces- They have 4 sauces. Mild, Sweet, Sweet Sizzlin and Sizzlin. I Personally love the Sweet Sizzlin. It had more of a vinegar base than ketchup like the others. The mild was very bland and just sucked! when I get to the Mason-Dixon line I start looking for Sonny's BBQ signs. I know I can't find them until after I hit Louisville Kentucky but boy oh boy am I ready when I get to that shop in Corbin Kentucky. This particular location has been recently remodeled and is absolutely gorgeous. The servers are very friendly and always stopping by to see if you need something. They will always offer you a taste of something before you order if you've never had it before. I suggest trying before buying that way you make the best choice. For me I have to have that chicken breast or I will sometimes get the beef brisket. the smoke the smoke the smoke if I could capture it and put it in a bottle I would take it to my house. One thing I always buy is two bottles of that barbecue sauce because one will never last long enough until my next trip. Try the smoking sweet sauce for a pleasant surprise. I am a man that loves BBQ. I have an unhealthy love for my smoker at my house. That being said, Sonny's has some of the best smoked meat on the market. The ribs are tender but still has that competition bite . The chicken is firm but juicy. The brisket....don't even get me started. If you like appetizers, try the redneck egg rolls. You won't be disappointed. I've tried duplicating them at home and don't quite come close to it. Stopped here on our way to Tennessee from Michigan- fantastic food! Fried pickles had a great ratio of breading to pickle, large portions of food, huge drinks! Hubby and I split Sonny's sampler and it was PLENTY FOR BOTH OF US - great way to sample all the options. Multiple BBQ sauces available- spicy was good flavor without being too hot, the other three were all moderate to low spice (I could eat them easily even though I have acid-reflux). For some reason, this particular time, the food was the worst I have ever had at any Sonny's over the years, especially the bbq beans and corn, which were more pepper than vegetables. Service was ok, but not great. Disappointed, but hopefully they do some quailing control. Stopped in at this place on our way back from Gatlinburg, Tn. I hit the bathrooms right away and they were horrible. I prefer not to describe it. Told an employee it was horrible and proceeded to my table were the other two of my party was seated. Normally I would have walked out. The employee said they just had there church rush. Service was good. Prices were reasonable for the amount you get. Food came extremely fast. Maybe to fast, because it was just luke warm, almost cold. Tasted good though if you like cold food. The other two in my party also had the same result with their food. On our way out I checked the bathrooms again and it look liked all they did was just emptied the trash. One paper dispenser was totally empty and the floors looked like they were pead on. I doubt I would stop at this location again. read more

Stopped for takeout on way home from camping. The coleslaw and beans pushed this from a three to four stars. Both stood out from others if you like saucy beans and fine grind coleslaw. My hubby and I both had the pork trio. Pulled pork was super good with nice brown charred BBQ bits. Big lean chunks. Perfectly done. We had both dry rub and sauced ribs. Mine came with five sauced ribs with tons of meat on the bones. Three dry rub ribs had just as much if not more meat. Both were yummy. The third pork we mostly fed to the dogs because we were getting pretty full and it was not as good as the other two. And the sauces were good and also distinctive. Saved the corn bread. Food quality was two stars, while service was five stars. The server was very friendly, prompt, and professional. The food did not meet our expectations. While my baked sweet potato was perfect, my pulled chicken was dry and cold. My husband's pulled chicken was better, with a few dry pieces dispersed throughout. His steamed broccoli was very good, but our son's broccoli was salty (the only salted broccoli at the entire table). My MIL really enjoyed the salad bar, but could barely lift her water cup. Having lived 7 1/2 years in southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida Sonny's was a staple. We always love to find one when traveling. We miss the salad bar, but most places have not had them open in the last 19 months or so and understand. I had to have my sweet tea which was just as food as I remembered! We had an order of fried pickles my husband liked that they were lightly coated and not so much breading, I liked they weren't spicy hot. I went with my go to smoked turkey with tater tots and green beans. The turkey was moist and delicious, the tots were good and crispy and the beans were nicely seasoned. Since we're from Ohio this is the only Sonny's we've been too but let me tell you this is by far one of our favorite restaurants ever. After a hour drive I look forward to stopping here for great meal. The sweet tea in the very large glasses are refreshing. I've had the pulled pork and pulled chicken both great. The ribs are delicious! The choices of BBQ sauce in the table make it easy to get what you want. Their cole slaw is sweet and amazing. .then theres the cornbread omg! Wow. ...or you can select garlic bread if cornbread is not your thing. The staff is always super sweet too. The only thing ill say is if your stopping on a Sunday expect a wait from the after church crowd. But totally worth it. This place will remain in our yearly travel tradition. read more

We ordered food for 6, including pulled pork, ribs and some chicken. The food arrived a little late, and during our wait, our waitress explained to us that they were out of spare ribs (this is like McDonalds saying they are out of Big Macs). They had baby backs left and added them to our plates (but no discount and we paid full price). The bill w/tip was nearly $90.00, but very tasty.
