We love the ambiance of this downtown local restaurant Friendly people, homey decor, and yet eclectic at the same time. Service was top notch, Weordered the "Three for $13. and couldn't be happier. The chicken veggie soup was truly amazing with the consistency of a pot pie. Homemade and very flavorful. The "Londonaire salad was outstanding. Fresh local greens, freshly cooked bacon, hard boiled egg and finely shredded cheese laced with pickled red onion & the homemade dressing was a huge hit. The half chicken salad sandwich was plum full of chicken a nice slice of tomato & greens on fresh grilled bakerwas also a winner. It's a couple miles off the freeway but the drive was well worth it.

Very good brunch. Great selection. Prices are high but it's all good quality delicious food. The wait staff are extremely knowledgeable and nice. Coffee selection is not great. You can get drip coffee or you can get drip coffee. No espresso machine. Normally that's understandable but in a higher-end brunch like this, I expected to be able to order a cappuccino. We still had a wonderful breakfast/brunch.

Wow!! I was super impressed from the moment that I walked in. I loved the decor and ambiance. The brunch menu has many options and everything looks so good. I ordered the Country Club Omelette with Gouda cheese. It came with the most delicious shredded potatoes. The local meats were excellent and I can't say enough about how much i loved the meal. I will drive down from Lexington just to come here. I can't wait to try more things on their menu. The owner was very busy and very friendly and came by the table to ask how our food was. What a great place!

Adorable little spot off of Main St in London. We were looking for a place to stop for lunch on our drive down 75 and this was perfect! About 8 min off the highway in a quaint little town square. The food is fresh and well seasoned with lots of good menu options. We had the chicken and dumplings soup and the Londoner salad as well as the Power Bowl with chicken. The service was quick and friendly!

In the area overnight for work, and thrilled to see such a high rated place on Main Street. Service was superb, and the manager/owner made his rounds to every table to say hello. Their smoked old fashion was quite lovely as well. I ordered the grilled chicken entree. The chicken was dry. It was so dry that my hand cramped up when I tried cutting into it with my knife and fork. Mashed potatoes were also dry. The flavor was there. A ton of herbs, garlic and salted really well. It was just so dry....

What a disappointing experience for dinner tonight. We made reservations considering the holiday weekend. We arrived early. We were Sat timely, but noticed that the host was also bussing tables and was regularly behind in both duties. We ordered several appetizers for our party of just 4 people, myself, husband and two sons. The shrimp and Brussels were divine, cooked perfectly, and crispy. The spinach dip lacked severely. It was so dry with the amount of Parmesan and little cream, it was like a crust less quiche. I am so glad I ordered a half salad, the Londonian was marvelous and had everything I could ask for, it was savory and cheesy, the croutons were sweet which was actually delightful. However, we waited. And we waited. And since our seating at 7:40 pm it was now 9 pm. Our waitress had finally cleared the table of appetizer plates and asked if we were ok. Sure. We've been waiting forever for dinner but please don't delay it further. Too bad. While waitstaff also bartended, they forgot to put in our ticket for dinner. Needless to say we had it boxed up and left, our two children rarely have 2 hour dinner events. Upon arriving home with our packaged dinners and two free desserts, btw I had a cheesecake waiting for me at home, so that was senseless. I was pretty disappointed in the dinner, the boxing was thoughtless as the purple mashed potatoes were rolled into the green beans, no separate containers, along with the peaches that coated the pork chop. The pork chop was tender enough until the middle which was dry. The geeen beans would have been nice if not for the tornado disaster of packaging. Vegetable goulash is not a preference of mine. I want to add that the lighting in the back needs help. You have a gorgeous bar with nice warm lights and directly across are two tables with bright cool light that gives off migraine vibes. There's such a nice selection of music in the late evening, but you may get distracted with two tv's on the wall, one is playing SNL reruns. It feels like you're trying to please everyone and no one at the same time. Bathroom was clean for the ladies room and well attended to. I want so badly to ask one thing. Where was the manager on the night before Mother's Day? Not only are your customers frustrated but you totally neglected your staffing issues.

Thank you Adam for the great recommendation! What an amazing local gem! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and explained everything. The food came out fast and hot. The vegetable gnocchi has loads of flavor. We were not planning on dessert, glad we decided to get the beignets. They came out warm and the sauce was super yummy. This is in an old frame shop. Some of the frames are part of the decor. Make the trip and stop by, you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in for brunch when returning to Nashville from the Red River Gorge. It's located in a neat historic downtown and was an unexpected find. Great atmosphere, service and food!

    Manhattan
    Fat Man Reviews K.

The Fat Man recently went out of town for a work conference in London, KY. While I was there, I stopped at Local Honey for lunch. Local Honey says their food is made with love and fresh ingredients, especially for you. I had the Local Honey Bacon Board, which comes with hand-cut smoked Lardon, Sourdough toast, house jam, and soft cheese. This was dusted with powdered sugar. The bacon was thick-cut with a nice crunch and a good chew with an excellent salt level. I got a nice crunch with the toast, which was buttered well. The house jam was an elderberry jam that was sweet but not overpowering. The cheese was creamy with a hint of garlic tagging, and the chives were slightly bland but paired well with the salty bacon. When you put all the components together, it reminded me of a Monte Cristo sandwich. For my meal, I decided to try the Manhattan. This was prepared with slow-roasted beef, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes, and brown gravy and served on Texas toast. The green beans and carrots were blanched and cooked with a little crunch but lacked seasoning. The roast beef was dry, chewy, and under-seasoned; however, I also detected a slight sweetness that was unfortunate. The gravy was creamy and smooth, with a good flavor and texture, but there was still sweetness. The mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly and had large chunks of potatoes, giving texture to the dish. The toast on the bottom had a good crunch, and the amount of bread went well with the serving size. Combining the toast, potatoes, and gravy in one bite offered an okay bite in texture and chew, but the dry, flavorless, sweet meat and gravy took away from the experience and made the meal unable to be finished. Local Honey offers a full bar with a brunch and dinner menu. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was neat for the space. The Fat Man says that Local Honey is NOT Fat Man approved.

We arrived first and even though it was a little after 12:00 noon on a Saturday, we were promptly seated. Our server Desseray greeted us promptly, and we ordered iced teas while we waited for the son to arrive. It was a pleasant surprise to hear that both the peach and strawberry flavored teas came in unsweetened and sweetened versions! Hubby ordered the unsweetened peach tea and I enjoyed the strawberry tea. Both were delicious and thirst quenching. Hubby had the garlic tilapia and shrimp with a Caesar salad and red beans & rice, while I had a vegetable plate with the baked potato soup, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, and Southern green beans, and the son had a top sirloin steak with a Caesar salad and French fries. The Caesar salads were eaten before I could get pictures taken! All of the food was delicious, but I had to bring home the green beans and mashed potatoes for another meal. A piece of carrot cake went home with the birthday boy!", while Hubby and I brought home glasses of tea. Our server Desseray checked on us frequently, refilled Hubby's tea a few times, as well as offered to-go cups of tea, and overall provided great service for our experience. The deduction of one star is due to how the HVAC vents are positioned in the bar dining area such that air blows on diners in the booths, and the air felt cold today even with the heat on. It's not the first time that I've been cold due to this situation, but today Hubby sitting next to me instead of across from me blocked some of the air from hitting me, and I kept my scarf around my neck to block more. However, this problem is due to the design of the building and not the staff of the restaurant.

It's one reason I don't go out for breakfast ~ I can make a pretty good breakfast at home. No use paying someone to do something I can do. So, going into Jackson's restaurant, a mom and pop restaurant specializing in home cooked style food, I had my doubts. Walking up to what resembled a school cafeteria lunch line only furthered my doubts. And, seeing the sheer number of different options sitting out behind the glass window only furthered my suspicions. Look, I was wrong. The food here is really good. The service is super friendly and helpful. I was so overwhelmed by all the choices I just told the lady behind the glass counter to pick me something. She obliged with a kindness that made me think she knew me somehow. She chose the chicken and dumplings, beef stew, apples, and two different types of corn bread. Now, I thought initially, and she even admitted, that the chicken and dumplings/beef stew mix was a little unorthodox, but that they were both so good I had to try them. Both were fantastic. The apples were awesome. I liked both types of corn bread. When I got up to leave, she called me over to the counter and said that since it was my first time there, I'd get a free dessert. You all, I was too full to even try. The food here is both tasty and filling. I was in Richmond for a conference at Eastern Kentucky University. So it was really convenient to stop by. But I'd say that even if you're remotely close, it's worth a visit. Don't, as I did, judge a book by its cover.

We stopped in on a Saturday evening right after opening time, hoping we would be able to get a table. The place was mostly empty, but WOW was it gorgeous! So much decor, and not a speck of dust or cobwebs on any of it. Looked like a victorian era mansion inside the dining room they took us to. It was all autumnal decor, so beautiful! The place is probably an old department store or something with many different rooms, each with its own decor theme; lots of space for special events. Some families were seated in private rooms. I walked through several of the other rooms and they were all decorated for different holidays, Christmas & Halloween mostly. Although those rooms had a lot of kitschy decor, they were also very beautiful. There were giant carved fireplace mantles, grand pianos, a hall of mirrors, and gorgeous carved wood antique furnishings everywhere. We were coming from a family reunion & a trip to Cumberland Falls, so I feared we would be underdressed (and felt we were a bit), but the staff was very welcoming and we had no problem being seated. Several other diners were dressed very well, and others were wearing jeans and t-shirts. It appears to be a very popular date restaurant, and it would definitely be a great romantic spot for a special dinner. The server was quick, efficient and friendly and made good suggestions. We ordered side salads which arrived quickly and were beautifully arranged. Super fresh ingredients, and delicious dressings. My husband kept exclaiming it was the nicest side salad he's had anywhere, so he was apparently pleasantly surprised. I had the chicken piccata, and my unadventurous husband had a burger. He liked his burger, and ate most of it. My chicken piccata was excellent! The generously sized two pieces of chicken were a bit thicker than usual for piccata, but they were cooked perfectly. Crispy exterior, and very tender and flavorful on the inside. The sauce was a bit thicker than normal piccata sauce but man was it good, and they did not skimp on the capers, which is my favorite part of the dish! It was served over a delicious rice blend which went so well with the sauce and served as a nice foil to the rich saltiness of the chicken. I ate way more of it than I even intended to and was stuffed. As much as we ate for dinner, unbelievably, we forced room for dessert and got an amazingly good chocolate cream cake of some sort which had thick layers of whipped filling between layers of chocolate cake, all topped with ganache. It was like a homemade hostess ding-dong, except way more moist. We ate most of it, despite our full bellies. My husband also raved about this cake, which is unusual because he usually hates things with whipped fillings, but he loved the cake & we had it eaten in no time. Finally, when it was time to pay the bill, it was actually a lot more reasonable than many other places that aren't half as good. Server did a great job. We were super happy with our dinner experience, and both of us agreed that Seasons is a major blessing for downtown Corbin. We will definitely stop in again without hesitation. We walked off our meal by meandering around town in the beautiful evening weather, ending up a block or two away at the pinball museum, so we had a fun date night, all in downtown Corbin!
