Best nail salon in Maple Grove/Plymouth area - and I've tried most of them! Jennifer & Emmy are both super nice to talk to, they do a great job at a fair price, and they're fast! Once or twice I've chipped a nail or smudged a pedi and they always fix it for free asap. I'm always game to try a new place when it opens but they never beat Sonny's! 10/10 recommend!! read more

This place is hit or miss depending on who you get. Hapi rules, and he deserves 4 stars. I've never had a problem with him. He is gentle, attentive, thorough, and fast. Some of the others are distracted, they leave bits of old gel polish on your nails, and have no problem grinding away at your nail bed and cuticles. I personally care about the health of my nails. Today I had a female and she just wasn't good at all. I had to ask her to file my nails better because they were crooked. I have a crooked French manicure too, and I spent $40 on this. It's going to bother me for two weeks! I also asked her to keep the length and she cut them down anyway. There is white polish on my fingers and my cuticles are dry since she had me wash my hands last. I've had enough manicures in my life to know the difference between a good one and someone who doesn't care. $40 every two weeks isn't cheap for something less than mediocre that probably won't last the week. I MG had a nail salon with a full staff of who understand true quality service. I was not relaxed at all. Frankly, bad manicures piss me off. read more

I stopped in and made an appt for a dip mani. I was told that the service I wanted would be "no problem". When I came back for my appt., Jennifer/Gennipher?, talked me into (more like insisted) that I try something that was so much better than dip. The new process was like putting super glue on my nails and was nothing like the mani I showed when I made the appt. When I left my appt she said if anything needs to be changed when you get home, just text me. I text her the next day and said this is nothing like what I asked for. She agreed to fix the manicure. When I went back she was so horribly rude to me that I let her do whatever, and left. She added another layer of goo to my nails on the 2nd try. I went back to my original tech that I have been seeing for years and she spent an hour getting the mess off my nails. I went to Sonny's because it was close to home. Never again. I don't care where my tech relocates to, I will follow her anywhere. $85 for a mani with gratuity, what a waste. read more

I was very excited to see that this salon had liquid gel fake nails (a lot of places say they have liquid and still use powder acrylic) the tech clearly didn't know how to use them or what she was doing or something cause my nails are sooo effed up. They are uneven, bumpy and THICK AS FUCK. On top of the fake nails being effed she didn't do any nail care before putting them on so my nail beds and cuticles look like shit. At first I loved this place but they've been really hit and miss lately. 2 out of the 3 ladies initiate no conversation at all and sometimes rush through the service. When I bring my teen here they skip things such as cuticle trimming and hand massage and definitely do a sloppier job on her. I have never been thanked once from 2 out of 3 of them either. I'll be driving back to Rogers to my nail salon I used to go for more consistent results. read more

No one even mentioned to me that they were about to close she welcomed me and stayed an hour after the store closed just so my nails would look good. My nails are EXACTLY what I asked for. Sheri sold the business a couple years ago and has continued to stay working there because she has so many clients & truly cares about them. Sonny's is my preferred nail salon. The staff are great at what they do and so nice! Rosa gives great pedicure massages. Nina does a great job at nail designs and gel nails. Sherri is friendly and helpful, always welcoming patrons with a smile. And Don is great to chat with during a manicure. The prices are affordable and it's easy to get appointments on short notice. I will continue recommending and coming back to Sonny's. Two Tips: they are not open Sundays, and they prefer cash tips on credit card transactions so plan ahead! read more

Nail tech was unable to remove dip gel by wrapping and was very rough with every step of the manicure. Refused to perform cuticle removal and left polish all over my hands even after I acknowledged it by asking for the paper towel she was using to clean. The seats, floors, counters and arm tests are all dirty making me question when any tools have been cleaned. First time I have ever not tipped. But I simply couldn't. read more

I went to get acrylic nails and the quality is horrible. Each nail has something wrong with it. Bubbles in the gel, air pockets under the nails, and uneven lines. After an hour of me getting them done one broke and when I went back to get it fixed they tried to tell me it wasn't broken and they couldn't fix it. For how expensive it was to do, I was expecting more. The women who did my nails spent all of 15 minutes doing them which is probably why they turned out so bad. I am originally for California and I typically spend $35 for acrylic nails and the quality would be 1000% better. This was not worth the $55 and I won't be going back. read more

So many of these salons change hands over the years and cleanliness is always a concern. This place has been open for over 10 years and I've been a client of theirs the entire time. Sherri and her husband have worked hard for their clientele and it shows. I moved away for 3 years and just recently returned. When I walked in, Sherri was in her same spot, looked up and welcomed me by name. She keeps an eye on the finished product and their employees are the same year after year. Had a very bad experience here last week. I called last minute to get an appointment and had never been here before. I've gotten acrylic nails many times before so it's clear they are not done well at all. There's bubbles in my polish, they did not do anything whatsoever with my cuticles not even push them back!! The one thing they did to my cuticles was roughly file them and make me bleed. I was asked to pay before I even had the acrylics put on all the way!! There was polish all around my nails and once they put the nail and glue on they only filed one hand!! I would have said something but I assumed it wasn't that big of a deal since the powder wasn't even on yet. The man who did my nails did them in a little over 30 minutes!! If you've gotten acrylics done you know that it usually takes over an hour! He warned me since I didn't get the gel polish that they would chip easily but I have gotten it before and it usually lasts quite a while before chipping, when I got home, I took a shower and they already chipped!! They didn't clip any hangnails whatsoever. I thought about going back to get them redone but didn't want to go back when they did so bad! read more

I came here for on my birthday for a pedicure after reading good reviews. The technician spent a large portion of my appointment trying to convince me to get something other than what I requested. When she asked if I wanted designs on my toes I respectfully denied, thinking she would add a top coat & I would be on my way. To my surprise, she continued to add flowers, which I was then charged for. My nails chipped the next day. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more
