I usually don't come here, but the place across the street was busy. The brand new polish I brought in for her to use was applied super sloppy, and it's gel so I have to deal with it for two weeks. The place was dead when I walked in, one girl laughing to herself with headphones and a show playing on her device, and the lady I had received a phone call while she was doing my nails. She was talking and talking, and sticky, uneven nails that didn't cure long enough is what I get for $38. Just see my picture. All this could be resolved with just a little more respect and attention to the customer. Bad service all around. They simply don't care about quality here. Grrr, bad manicures make me angry. I hate paying for things that are not good. Don't go here - there are way better options for nails in the immediate area - but they're busier with customers. I got my nails done here because I got a gift certificate and it was the worst nails I've had done. To start the salon is not nice and very messy. I got a fill and was burned multiple times because the tool got too hot after I said something multiple times. My nails are so thick, I left with nail polish on my skin, it was so sloppy and I was there for over an hour. The price was outrageous for what I received. I will not be returning. read more

I hesitated to write this review sooner because the lady who worked on me was very sweet and clueless. Not an excuse but I see now that issues like this are not a one time thing. I want to save other people the pain I went through so here I go especially after seeing the other reviews. The customer service is good but staff needs better technical training. I went for a pedicure and the person that worked on me clipped off so much toe nail that she took off part of my flesh under the nails. She just went across quickly without checking my toes. It didn't bleed but one area formed a large scab and was extremely sore for weeks. I have not and will never go back. Ever since then I have anxiety anytime I get a pedicure anywhere because I am scared that it will happen again. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home. read more

While I was there, the price changed 3 times while I got my nails done. It's only been 4 days and the "gel" top coat is peeling off of all my nails. She was very aggressive and kept pulling on my hand. I had to get a removal and she ripped a few of my nails off harshly. I definitely said "ouch" every time but she didn't seem to care much. read more

I have never had my nails shaped worse. She didn't ask me what I wanted and filed them super short which is frustrating because it took me forever to grow them. The shape on the sides is totally uneven and it looks horrendous. The technician who did my nails pinched my fingers while doing it and was very aggressive, made me bleed and then instead of apologizing for her negligence -she blamed me. I typically choose to walk in after work since it's so close. I'm usually seen right away. If I can't be, they ask if I can come back or me make an appointment for another day. My mom and I went here after looking for a new place to try since the place we frequented for years went down hill. We decided on K Nails based on location and reviews. We called and made an appointment for gel manicures and a pedicure. They were able to take us. We arrived on time and they actually held the time slot of our appointment for us! There was a woman there waiting, and they helped us before her because we had appointments.This is like a first! Most nail salons take your appointment but then help walk in customer and then you're left waiting. The polish selection is good both for regular polish and gel polish. It is $30 for a gel manicure and $35 for a basic pedicure. The prices are higher than other places, but they really take their time. The ladies doing our nails did not rush and were very thorough. I appreciated that each pedicure bowl has disposable plastic protectors on them to prevent the spread of germs from patron to patron. I will be back to K Nails! I am in MN for only a few months and while I intend on trying every new thing possible, I have no interest in wasting time/money on getting my nails did right. Therefore, after scouring groupon/livingsocial for awhile and finding not a single place with more than 3 stars, I asked my roommate for her recommendation. Make sure you call to check for availability because right after i showed up, the ladies that came in after waited on avg 40 min per person.. To reiterate why i need a good manicurist... i smashed one of my fingers awhile back and as the nail grew back, there's a huge dip in the middle and its still now long enough to cover my entire nailbed. I've been to several manicurists who were unable to do much and have resorted to wearing a bandaid whenever possible to cover the nail... I came here with little to no expectations, and as i showed my nail to Amy, she said no problem, we'll cover it with a fake nail... Genius! She used acrylic and other methods to fix my deformed-half nail... and as i'm looking at it now, I can't even tell which one is the damaged one! (she didn't even charge me anything extra for all the work, so i made sure to tip generously) Long story short, i got gel nails + basic pedi for $55 (an extra $5 if you want french tip). Call before you go to avoid long waiting times, and tip well because these ladies are working hard to make you happy! Only thing i'd add is that it would've been awesome to have been offered some water to drink.. but it wasn't that big of a deal... All in all a 5 star experience! read more

I was visiting for my friend's 21st birthday from Boston and desperately needed a place to get my nails done. Based on the Yelp reviews, I decided to try this one. I was able to secure a same day appointment which got me instantly seated. I was also offered a mini water bottle which was nice. The salon is clean, the seats were comfy, and the girls were friendly. The owner came to do my nails and she was simply fantastic!! I got a gel manicure and a basic pedicure. She took her time and was meticulous even when she knew she had other customers. I felt super pampered and never rushed. I never write Yelp reviews but I thought this one deserved to be heard. I visited K Nails for the first time yesterday for an acrylic fill as they had an opening and I was also less than happy with my previous nail salon. I called and asked if they had availability for a fill and told them I could be there in 15 minutes if so, I was told they did and to come in. Upon arrival I noticed all the techs had a client (there was a group of chatty millennials getting their nails done) but I was fine waiting and just happy I could get my fill that day. The lady who did my service seemed nice but hardly spoke. I asked her to shorten my nails to match the length of one that chipped at the tip. It is still noticeably shorter than the others and I plan to file them down myself. I have almond shaped nails and was pleased that she was able to maintain the shape after shortening. The reason for my 2 star review is as follows. As a preface I should add that I am a former licensed nail tech who worked at upscale salons and spa so have full knowledge of what an acrylic and gel overlay service should look like. I was disappointed to see that the tech never cleaned her station after her previous client and there was still debris on the station. No towels or even a paper towel was laid down for me. Gross. Strike 1. I also noticed later in the service that she did not use a clean nail file on me. She first attempted to remove my color with acetone when I informed her it was gel polish. She then moved to her drill. While I always hand filed my overlays I am fine with an experienced tech using a drill on me so long as they do not damage my nail bed. She quickly removed my color and started the fill. I noticed she did a very quick and sloppy job applying the powder and relied on drilling to correct her errors, which would have been okay except she applied too much product that flooded my cuticles and attempted to correct with the drill causing her to cut at least 2 of my fingers. It hurt as she did it but I didn't notice they were actually cut until I left and noticed they were faintly bleeding. Strike 2. I had already decided by this point I would not be returning as a client in the future. After polishing my nails she never cleaned up the polish by the cuticles leaving a very sloppy line that looks very unprofessional and as if an amateur applied my polish. It takes only a minute or two to dip a small brush in acetone and clean up a polish. Strike 3. The final issue that I encountered was the day after I attempted to push back my cuticles (since she failed to do that as well but I've noticed most cheap nail salons fail to provide this service with fills) I noticed that acrylic was never properly cleaned along my cuticles and actually cover my cuticles with noticeable overhang. Since a few of my fingers are already cut I am unable to file it off until they heal and am also unable to request a soak off until they heal. Strike 4!! read more

The staff here are genuinely friendly, the salon is clean and the equipment all looks new. Even when Amy learned I'm from out of town (therefore, not a returning customer anytime soon), she continued to do a meticulous job on my cuticles. Also, the mini massage was so relaxing. With the new ownership they do not honor appointment times. Our first experience was when we made pedicure appointments for four and when we arrived we had to wait 20+ minutes and then they only had three people working. Today, again, we had two appointments, and again, we had to wait 30 minutes before service began. We are long time regular customers but will be looking for a new salon. read more

Very happy with my nails. Nothing too fancy but it was only $30 for a gel manicure. They use a type of wax that they dip your hands in (I was skeptical at first but it was kinda cool) and then they let it dry and remove it while massaging your hands. Happy with my manicure. I think I have given this place plenty of chances. I feel like it's the same thing every time I go in . It's funny how the prices change every time I go there . If they know you are only doing regular powder they up the price on you . The reason I am not going back is because I'm really sick of getting asked EVERY TIME if I have cash when I go to pay . It's 2018 and I personally do not carry cash and I think it's very rude for them to ask . Even the last time I went she asked if I had cash and I said no I dont carry cash and she said ok next time you bring cash . Plus the post notes on every station saying they would prefer you to pay cash . Let's be real , you don't want to claim your tips OR pay your taxes . It's horrible customer service !! I did not have a good experience. The lady who did my nails was super rough & she was rude. I dont remember her name but she sits at table 6. I kept telling her it was very painful when she was trying to remove my nails, but she kept saying just hold on it's okay. To the point I had to snatch my hand from her. My nail started to bleed and she put this blue solution on it that burned to high hell. She filed my nails so hard that I have red sores on the side of my nails. I can also see bubbles in my white nails from the acrylic. She kept speaking in her language & I could tell she was talking about me. They also charged me before they even started my nails. I did not have a good experience at all. The lady was very rough and hurtful with my nails I was wincing and holding back tears in the chair. there were a bunch of bubbles in my acrylics and she also told me to just hold on and wait until the end. this took more prodding at my nails which made me question if I should just leave. I think she knew that she wasn't doing a great job so she suggested putting sparkles on my nails even when I was more than hesitant to do so. she cut them way too short and upon asking if they're good I said "well is it too late to say I want them longer?" and she said "yes it's too late" so then I reluctantly said "yeah they're fine I guess". The headlamp was in my point of view so I wasn't able to see how my nails were coming along. When putting my nails in the gel drying machine she kept bumping my nails into the sides which made them smear. I cried leaving the store. When I got home I instantly tried to pry them off as all of the sides were rigid and snagging on every object I held. This bothered me so much that I tried to to cut them off. I called back the next day asking for a refund but all they could offer me was removal of the nails. I reiterated how dissatisfied I was with the whole experience but their reasoning was that the service was already provided. I am not happy with how they handled the situation and I am upset with how much money I spent on this experience. I will not be returning whatsoever and will take it upon myself to remove them. read more

I called the day before to make a special appointment for me and my daughter's at 5pm. We showed up on time and she told me two of her workers didn't show up so it would be a few minutes. We were on a tight time frame. After 15 minutes of waiting she said it would be five more minutes. We waited another 5 minutes and noticed that the two workers weren't even close to being done with the other customers. As we were leaving she said it would be another five minutes. I read the reviews and thought I would give It a try for a pedicure. Cindy took care of me, I got the mid level pedi which came with your standard features, but Cindy encouraged me to set my phone down and just sit back and relax and enjoy the experience. They know some customers by name they appear to have a many repeat customers. Everything looks clean and well cared for. I picked a very light iridescent polish color and Cindy made sure I knew that it would be very light when applied to insure that I would be happy with my end result. They did a fine job on nails but customer service needs major improvement. I brought the 10 year old girl I nanny to get a mani and pedi at 10am on a Thursday. They told us to pick out colors, then when the 10 year old chose one the worker told her that color wasn't cute and she should choose a different one. Um what? If a 10 year old wants sparkly green nails then she should be able to without being told to choose a different color? I also got a pedicure and I left with nail polish on my toe, a burn on my big toe from the gel polish drier, and uneven nails that weren't shaped or filed to be even. The workers also seemed to be making fun of the colors the 10 year old chose and the manicurist tried to swap out her color choices without telling/asking her.
