My husband and I went yesterday to get their limited edition fish sandwich and peanut butter and chocolate shake. They were not listed on the drive-thru menu, but when asked, the cashier informed us that, yes, they had the items. When we got to the windows, we were told that, no, they were out of fish and we could go to another location to see if they had the items. We opted to get a burger instead along with the shake and fries. They could have informed us prior to getting to the window (we observed the cashier taking items out to customers behind us while we waited for our order), and should have had us pull over to await our order. Literally the slowest "fast" food place. Dont go here if youre in a hurry or starving. The employees could be seen just messing around while we waited. Our order was said to be ready and we got it nearly 20 mins later. And when we finally got our order, the employees who gave it to us was being rude. The drinks and shakes are still good! This is where sonic excels. I will always love the cherry limeade. The food is mediocre at best and the service is poor. I keep on giving this particular Sonic a chance to do better, but honestly it's only worth an occasional trip through the drive thru for a cherry limeade. I believe a lot of the Sonics in town are pretty old and they are in desperate need of a refresh, but I don't think the economy has much room for Sonic anymore. The amount of spots available to order by car have decreased by more than half and those that have a working ordering board are holding on by their last frayed wire. The service is slow and the food does not come out piping hot. My tots were room temperature as was my burger. I didn't get the usual prompt for whether I want ketchup or mustard and was not given any napkins. Sonic used to be a great place to go for drinks and fast food, but I don't know how much longer this chain can hold on. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience tonight. We waited nearly an hour and a half just to get food, and when it finally came out, it was cold. Three of the four employees appeared high, and the situation inside was complete chaos. Customers were literally arguing with employees because the wait was so long. Orders were constantly mixed up, missing items, and when food was handed out, no one seemed to know who it belonged to. Employees were aimlessly walking around and moving incredibly slow, clearly not concerned about the growing line of frustrated customers. At one point, I watched through the window to see what was taking so long, and an employee actually got angry at me for watching. When we asked for a refund, they didn't even know how to process it. They called someone for help and still couldn't figure it out. This was hands down one of the worst fast-food experiences I've ever had. This Sonic will definitely not be getting our business again, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're out of business soon. There should be an option for 0 stars. read more

Whatever is going on with this place needs to be investigated by the owner. It seems most of the time they are understaffed, the drive thru line is a 45 minute wait, which is actually faster than parking and ordering, the milkshakes taste like they are made with spoiled milk, lite ice on drinks means extra ice, out of cup holders, etc. I want this place to succeed but honestly someone from Management needs to step in and assist/support the employees. Cars literally leave the drive thru because the line doesn't more. You are losing money at a high rate and losing customers because eventually it's just not worth the hassle and wait to get your order. This is beyond an employee issue. This is a management issue. Store is open till midnight. They close kitchen at 1130 which as a door dasher is a huge problem for me. Delivery ordering is still open. I drive some distance to pick up only to be treated badly and told the kitchen is closed and they cannot make the order and only drinks are available. Not cool. read more

This place just needs to close down and board itself up. Half of the outside ordering areas do not work. You can sit there for a period of time, and nobody acknowledges you on the order screen. Even if they see you sitting there, nobody comes out to tell you it's not working. Either that or you are being ignored. Ended up pulling up to the drive thru to place our order. We informed the drive thru that the outside stall we were at for 10 minutes doesn't seem to be working as no one came on to take our order. We basically got brushed off, as her response was "oh". That was it. Nothing further. The service at this Sonic has gone downhill over time. Close your doors and just be done with it. read more

Ordered a chicken sandwich meal. Got half a container of over fried in old oil fries and an over microwaved chicken sandwich. You know when you over heat bread in the microwave and it becomes hard and stale? Well that's what happened. I also think they might have taken it out of the trash and reheated it. Very disgusted. Unfortunately, we have not had a lot of great experiences when eating at most Sonics. We love their hamburgers and tater tots, but the service has been lackluster. Today we had a very surprising experience. When we pushed the little red button, a very kind sounding voice immediately responded. I know our order was somewhat of tricky a order because my wife and I like our burgers differently. The young lady, taking our order, was extremely kind a patient with me. She listened to exactly how we wanted our order and repeated it back exactly. Her voice was just very kind and accommodating! When the order came out the girl who delivered it had that very same kind voice. I asked her if she took our order, over the intercom. She confirmed that she did. I told her that she made a very positive experience for us. We saw that her name was Ravin on our receipt. So just wanted to say Ravin made our past poor experiences, with Sonic customer service, more positive today! read more

I am giving this establishment the one star for the ONE employee who actually attempted to get our order correct. Otherwise, If I was able, they'd get Zero stars. We went yesterday to order 3 bacon cheese burgers, a double WITHOUT CHEESE and only ketchup, mustard and pickles, and a foot long chili dog. Everything else was right, but the One burger we specifically asked for "No Cheese Please" they got wrong. So we let them know and they "remade" it. This time it was a single with Everything Except Cheese. Not gonna work, since we paid for a double, so I sent it back Again. I heard the young man who brought our food Specifically Say, as he walked back into the kitchen, "It's a double, No Cheese with only ketchup, mustard and pickles". It's a drive thru, as we all know. Don't expect servers with roller skates anymore, cause they took that away a long time ago. Decent menu, they have lots of choices for shakes and specialty drinks. Their chili is good, not a big fan of their onion rings, for me it's a bit too sweet. And the one thing I was disappointed about was their french fries, they gave us old french fries and that's the one thing I am looking forward to having when I go to fast food restaurant. In an age of covid where employees don't show up to work and companies run out of things constantly, this place does a great job. I typically come in the morning and they treat me like family. Always efficient and friendly. If they are out of something they are always cool about it and offer other things. They seem to care about their customers which I find pretty rare. I love Sonic! The food is almost always fresh and hot. They have a wide range of burgers and in my opinion is much better than McDonald's or Burger King. Only draw back is since they cook most of the food fresh to order the wait time can be a little longer. And the drive through can back up during busy times. But if you're willing to wait a few extra minutes for hot, fresh and better food than some other Fast Food places then Sonic is a good option. read more

The food was not great. Burger patty was dry and had no flavor. Asked for lettuce and the amount given was shocking, hardly any. I used to love going to Sonic when I lived in Colorado but the Sonic location here on Thornydale is very disappointing. I ordered a simple 3 piece chicken fingers with fries and a cherry burst drink. My boyfriend ordered a burger, pretzel with cheese and mozzarella sticks. We ordered togo and went to pick it up. The lady who brought out our food was very rude and just unfriendly. While he got his entire order all I only got 3 pieces of very sad looking chicken strips and no fries. I was very frustrated to say the least. The chicken strips were small and thin. I don't recall them being that way at the locations in Colorado. Unless we're eating there again in person I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Sonic is a family favorite and I'm very happy this one is so close to our new house. When I ordered, the person taking my order was really friendly and knowledgeable. But she did tell me to enter my card in the slot, and when they brought my food out said the machine didn't even work. Sonic, you need to fix that. It's a bit of an inconvenience for customers. . I go there because it's close & food is made to order. The tots, were cold really salty & those also had been cooked and sat. I put them in a paper bag and tried to shake off the salt. It didn't work once heated they were a soggy mess. I'm more conscious about prices and food as everything is so darn expensive. I just will not go back since this was the 3rd time. Meh. Seemed like the perfect place to go for social distancing - you order from your car, wait for your food and eat right there. All under a nice canopy to keep the sun off your vehicle. Everyone else had the same brilliant idea, the place was packed and they were clearly overwhelmed. Took about 10 minutes to place our order and maybe another 25 minutes for the food to come. Long time for a cheeseburger (see photo) and a hot dog. The bright spot was the cherry limeade - pretty good! I don't know what they did to my cheeseburger, but as is visible from the photo it looks like it got cooked in the wrapper, the way the foil got all burned. The lettuce got pretty cooked too. Maybe too long under a warming light? The hot dog was pretty good, tons of pickle relish. It would have been nice for them to provide extra napkins or something for the diners to prevent their lunches from plopping into their laps. I hogged the empty bag for a tray, but my wife's hot dog...oh well. Oh, and the credit card reader on the ordering stand (see photo) didn't work. I tried repeatedly, no go. Paid cash, which fortunately I had on hand. Maybe we'll try again when they are not so crowded - some of their ice cream deserts look pretty good. read more

My neighbor and Ally stopped at the sonic for lunch. We ordered double chili cheese burger with green chili. No lettuce, no tomatoes and just catch up. We ordered the meals and ask for large size lean for tater tots and soda. Also got a cup of ice cream for my neighbors dog. The total bill was $25.33. We took the meals home since we live 15 minutes away and to our surprise we open the bag. The burgers we received were single with cheese and green chili. They also had lettuce and tomato on them . Needless to say we were not going to drive 15 minutes back to argue with the location. Boy did we get ripped off. Your honor I'm here because I would like to see some type of response from sonic management on this Miss justice. They do not deserve anything but a disgusting review. read more

Going to this particular Sonic franchise is always a gamble. Sometimes everything is great; but more often than not, you leave disappointed. Something is always broken, being worked on, they are out what you order, or just can't make what you want. Generally, it is not an issue -- I get a cash refund and we are on our way. This last visit, however, was the worst service I have ever had. I made a mobile order, checked in, and an employee came out quickly with our food. We were informed that the fryer was being worked on and they could not make the mozzarella sticks we ordered. I was hangry, so I was frustrated; but this was completely understandable -- things break, or just need to be maintained -- all I ask for in return is my money back. When I requested my refund, the employee -- very curtly -- responded that I should call the number at the bottom of the receipt. I Called the number to no avail...ended up emailing, and after some time I was given an apology and a free order of mozzarella sticks *with purchase*. But, WHY would I want to pay to get a free item that I had already payed for and not received? I responded to their "offer," and have yet to hear anything back. I am a fan of Sonic, their ice cream and snacks are delicious, but this interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. If you ever get a craving for Sonic, at the very least, I suggest not going to the location on Thornydale. read more

The metric to measure fast food service isn't a high bar, but we really enjoy the tots and coney dogs... tonight we waited for 20 minutes for service and received some sort of vague ambiguous denial of service. They simply couldn't take our order. In the event that this is a result of understaffing I hope this review is heard from the management operators, in the event that this was some one-off refusal I just don't understand that position at all. There's a reason this is entry-level and it should be paid entry wages however there's an expectation of a consumer to an establishment to be accurate. Something as simple as a normal menu item recipe should not cause constant issue.
