What I love about Plaza is not only their selection of beverages, it's the fantastic staff that works there. I feel comfortable asking them any question when it comes to locally brewed beer, Arizona wines, and distilled spirits made in and around Tucson. I ended buying some locally made vodka, my father-in-law loved. Plaza has a quirky vibe I appreciate and everything is always labeled clearly with interesting descriptions. There seemed to be two employees working and doing a tasting in the back. I was greeted and then given a couple of moments to come in and have a look, before I was approached and offered assistance. I like that. Let me come in and check it out before you jump on me. I was also quickly offered a sample. They had a few options to choose from and I was given a tasting in an actual wine glass, offered any assistance, and then allowed to wander. There were three of us who would be enjoying it, I was looking for a red, not too dry, and with a screw top. Because again, we are at the hotel. It is a small shop, but it had a lovely selection. Not just from the usual suspects either, I don't know much about Chilean wines, but they were well represented. And what I ended up picking out. I do come to Tucson from time to time, I have a niece who goes to school out here (Go Wildcats!), and also for work. I will be coming back to find another gem, at George.
