My wife and I love to people-watch, and I swear we saw the pastor chatting with parishioners, the mayor and his wife shaking hands with folks, neighbors catching up on the latest gossip, and the PTA crew laughing in the corner. It was all just too perfect. The food is cooked the way it used to be in the old days, and it really brings back memories. Don't get me wrong--the restaurant itself is a normal, modern stand-alone building--but the feel inside, with the vibe from the waitresses, the customers, and the food, just exudes this wonderful old-time country charm. Allyssa was our waitress the last two times we went, and she's absolutely adorable. She's got the sweetest country twang and a natural charm that makes you feel right at home. She's very attentive, too. We had the fried pickles, the catfish dinner, and the fried shrimp. The iced tea is always fresh. They close at 2 on Sundays, so get there early for the freshest food.
