Not the best Sonic I've ever been to, but not the worst either. Obviously there is no bathroom. I think the only Sonics I've ever been to with bathrooms are the ones with play places, and those are few and far between. The area itself is a bit sketchy. My toddler son accidently sat on our truck's horn and a homeless man started screaming at us from the Dollar General parking lot. The ordering screen worked, but you couldn't actually pay from it. Do they even still wear roller skates? Cause I didn't see anybody in them. None the less, the food came quickly and it was hot! I ordered a double cheese with bacon and I gotta say, that burger was better than the damn "famous" Laguna Burger I had back in Albuquerque. It actually looked like the picture! Toppings were fresh, lettuce wasn't wilted, tomatoes were good, and bacon was crispy. The cherry limeade I ordered was just okay. Needed more cherry, but you can't win em all I suppose. I wasn't super impressed with this particular Sonic. I stopped here to use the bathroom and grab a quick bite, but they didn't have a bathroom so I had to walk next door to the Dollar General. It was also difficult to hear the speaker to order the food. The food itself was just okay, and normally I really like Sonic,especially since I can't get it in Los Angeles. The staff forgot to include some of the sauces I ordered too and the restaurant looked kinda rundown and uninviting. It was just a meh experience overall :( read more

None of the screens work, had to go to three separate ones to get an answer, the broken screens say press red button, yet the red button does nothing. Service is slow. Do yourself a favor and head a little further down the road for just about anything else read more

Unfortunately this and the other two sonic drive ins in Gallup have very slow service. Their drive in stations are closed due to pandemic so all business is being conducted through drive through only. With drive through being main hub for orders, expect to wait in line for an hour. Sonic app or online orders do not go through. Gallup sonic needs more work and better customer service. read more

NEGATIVE 10 ZERO STAR!!! On 12/02 @1:02pm we were waiting at the speaker box for over 20mins and kept saying hello and no was answering so we went to the window we waited an additional 5mins and the older lady came to the window we told her we were waiting at the speaker box for a long time but no one was answering she just slammed the window close and didn't address our concern or EVEN take our order. Had to push the button a couple times before anyone answered. The red light would blink, then go solid then go off. Once they answered and we ordered we were informed that at 8pm on Saturday their ice cream machine was broken. After finding 2 other Sonics closed by 8pm then no ice cream at the only open Sonic we went to the Dairy Queen next door. Enjoyed it very much. read more

Sonic Drive-In - No Nerds! - Burgers Near Me - Gallup, New Mexico

FTR foolios!! Long story short: Good ol' Sonic Drive-In, you never fail me, even in the middle of nowhere. Long story long: On my roadtrip out to Kansas City, we had drive several hours through Arizona and were now in New Mexico. It was about 2:30-3 in the afternoon, and we were full enough from breakfast to not have stopped for lunch, however I was starting to get hungry. We decided to pull off the highway here in Gallup, New Mexico and check out what was available in terms of food. The town itself was pretty much nothing, just a few hotels and motels (some of which were abandoned and condemned), a few fast food restaurants, and a couple gas stations. Driving down the main road, we saw Sonic and decided to go in. I asked if they had a restroom, in which I basically had to go past their kitchen, past their dry storage area, to a small little lavatory. I came back out and we ordered, both getting the Sonic bacon cheeseburger. We both got it with tater tots and I got a strawberry limeade. A few minutes later, our food arrived, and instead of eating in the car, we decided to sit down at a table. It was quite warm out, but we managed. Oh goodness that burger totally hit the spot. I LOVE Sonic's tater tots and their limeades. You seriously can't go wrong with either of those. I just love Sonic in general and to be honest, in the week that I've been here so far in Kansas City, I've gone to Sonic 3 times already. That's what I get for having it so close to my house. This is by far the worst Sonic I have ever been to. Easy order, tots (cold), grilled cheese (barely grilled), cherry limeaide (bitter lime and not much cherry) So in too of the crapy food, they guy couldn't quite get the order right and when he brought it out he forgot the drink. Best advice, head down the road a few miles and check out the new location you'd probably have better luck there read more

After years of living in areas with no Sonics, we were excited to stop our cross Country moved. The whole reason we stopped here was for cherry limeades and malts. Very disappointed they no longer sell malts. read more

If there was a way to give negative stars I would!!!! This is got to be by far the worst sonic ever! The manager/owner... The person you're supposed to go to with problems... is the worst one!! According to his staff, he is the reason that they don't serve ice water, he charges for every piece of extra fruit you put in ( and is very rude when explaining to you that he will charge you)... and that place should not be called fast food!!! I ordered ONE Large drink and waited 25 minutes to get to the window to find out they messed up my order!!! Don't stop at this sonic. There's another in town. So...we drive through Gallup quite often. Went to this location about a year ago and didn't have a good experience. Went through the drive through. Took forever and the whole order was wrong but we were already on the highway. Decided to give it one more try because I wanted a limeade and we were near. Drive through again, 15 minutes. Asked for no bun, and I think that's where I went wrong, because it confused the whole place. I got a ripped up patty with veggies in a hotdog sleeve. A cheeseburger with no bun is a bummer, but no cheese or mayo and what's the point. So I went back told them they forgot the cheese and forget it. Guy grabbed my burger took the cardboard boat out of the sleeve no gloves, hands covered in cherry syrup, the cook threw a piece of cheese on it and the guy put it back and handed it to me. not appealing or ok to handle someone's food like then. Then I was told I confused everyone by not wanting a bun. Husband wouldn't have it so he drove me back through and asked them to make me a new one, which started another ordeal. So long story short, get a drink here or maybe a shake but skip the food. I know I will never come to this location again. read more
