One of the half-dozen Starbucks in Gallup, it was the only one open this morning at 5:30. It's 45 degrees outside in October and I needed a warm place to do some work and charge up electronics. Drive through was open and slightly busy. The dining room was empty except for one crew who was on break. Therefore, quiet and I had my choice of spots to set up. My "mobile order" of bagel and coffee (gotta earn those stars!) was prepared very quickly and my name shouted a moment later. Coffee? The blonde roast is the only one I can tolerate and while it had a good flavor, it was only warm. Unexpectedly not hot. Bagel was very lightly toasted but good flavor. I think Starbucks has lost its charm with its ongoing domination of the coffee wars. If I could have had #LocalCoffee this morning, I would have. Again, the only place open before 6am. This is a good Starbucks to walk into and order, instead of waiting in the long drive thru line. We stopped here 6 weeks ago while on our road trip. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision in stopping here to use the restroom and order a macchiato and an iced tea. This standalone Starbucks is very close to I-40, and we weren't off the interstate for very long. The parking lot that surrounds Starbucks is small; however, the big parking lot for the shopping center behind Starbucks can be used, if necessary. I guess a lot of Starbucks customers thought it was best to stay in their cars and drive through the drive thru. It was the last week of June when we came here, and this location was dressed up in Pride colors, which I thought was great! There was a little chalkboard instructing walk in customers to go to one side, and customers who came in to pick up on the other side. There was a short line inside for people ordering. R got in line and asked what I wanted so he could order while I went to the restroom. I wasn't in there long. After I came out, I didn't see R (who was in the other restroom), so I went to the counter, and, WOW! My drink was ready! I confirmed the drink with one of the employees, and it really was mine, so I took it and sat down at one of the nearby tables and started drinking. R's macchiato was ready by the time he came out, and he said it was good. The quick and efficient service, support for equality for everyone, and clear and concise hand written signage instructing customers where to go for their orders made this a good experience for the both of us. read more

There are so many things wrong with this place. First the staff is incredibly rude. Especially that jerk of a manager. They always mess up my order and when you ask them to fix it they are argumentative. They never fix it. Do you want a nice hot coffee? Well sorry it will more than likely be room temperature. The bathrooms are absolutely vile. As soon as you go to the bathroom you are almost knocked over from the smell of urine. I'm contacting Starbucks corporate and reporting this. This is my fourth time at this location. I stop by at this location every time I pass through this town about twice a year. Their service is always fast and friendly. This place is super clean with super cool and comfy furniture. It's so busy here but the drive through and lines move so fast. Come to this Starbucks location. You will not be disappointed. I couldn't agree more. Today was no different. Manager gave me fake names. Called three times to ask for district and regional numbers for a formal complaint, only to have been hung up on. Manager was extremely argumentative. Terrible customer service. So not empathetic. I suggest the east hwy 66 or Safeway locations. This store is horrific and always dirty. I was torn between two, went with one at the grande level, and they blew me away. Traveling through from California, it was heaven to go to a Starbucks after driving until 2 am. This Starbucks was very annoyed with my son and I. My son who was very extremely tried to order a coffee but didn't know how ( he don't drink Starbucks much) so I canceled the order and reordered my usual without hesitation and just doubled the order. The drive through guy was so annoyed with us. He did his " Navajo attitude" sigh like it was a huge inconvenience to disrupt his day because my son does not know his drink. I've been to this store twice since it opened. Each time my service has been great. No complaints. I try to go when it's not busy but it never fails, I always end up there when it's during rush hour. I like the concept of a Navajo inspired location and the decor is great but the staff and service do not remotely provide any friendly or professional service. I was in the area for a week and was routinely overcharged and lectured on protocols that were not in line with all other Starbucks store I have frequented. The bathrooms are unsanitary and had no toilet paper in either of the two bathrooms. When told about the status of the bathrooms no staff bothered to address. After I complained my drinks were mislabeled and put under another name. I was also told to wait for my bakery items for an inordinate amount of time. The same for my drip coffee which they charged me extra for creamer and refused to use my personal cup. This location needs a manager to oversee rude employees doing the bare minimum. They seem to choose who to serve and have no concept of Navajo hospitality which is a part of the culture. Starbucks has a higher standard. read more

This Starbucks wasn't as great. I understand there was only two workers working, but I ordered a vanilla cappuccino. I paid almost four dollars and I only got a third of the cup full of coffee and the rest foam, and the taste was very dark and bitter instead of a sweeter taste.
