A must stop along the way. This cute couple has been running this place for almost 4 decade now. We got the Apple fritter and carrot cake. Both were delicious, however, that carrot cake! So delicious We arrived shortly after they had opened so plenty of options still available. The owner was so sweet, I forget her name, she was telling us their story which was really cute. Love supporting small mom and pop shops.

We stopped here on our way from Santa Fe to Sedona. We are on a road trip, and I was sick of fast food already. We took a chance on the good reviews. This place honestly seems so unassuming from the outside and the town it's in. Upon entering, we met the friendliest lady working there. Even the patrons were friendly. The sandwiches were excellent and so filling we made two meals of them! The apple fritter is as big as your head and every bit as delicious. The kids loved the donuts. When people say "hidden gem" nowadays, it usually isn't hidden but some viral thing, but this is a true hidden gem!

Just delivering great food at a great price, and served up with a smile.... If you're looking for a great sub sandwich, ditch the truck stops fast food joints and pop into this place. Super convenient access from i40. check it out, and tell them Robert recommended it ! OH AND DON'T FORGET TO TAKE AN APPLE FRITTER TO GO....

Came across this looking for some coffee - Dunkin' Donuts is over 130 miles - I would highly recommend a gas station - best of luck

Home made fresh bread with ample meat. This turkey sandwich was delicious!

Family owned for 40 years. Friendly staff as well as owners. Doesn't look too appealing from the outside but don't let that discourage you! These mom and pops are a dying breed on Route 66. Support local! Donuts good, sandwiches are great! Fresh bread made in house. Plenty of turkey on our sandwich. What a pleasant surprise! Eat here instead of Taco Bell etc....

You guys.. YOU. GUYS. Hands down, best sandwich I've ever had in my life! My family and I are traveling in an RV through states, and we got lucky passing by this Donut & Deli restaurant. They make their breads from scratch which means no preservatives. It was absolutely amazing. You can try any of their sandwiches and they all have their unique flavor. The employees and service was just as amazing, definitely family oriented and SO caring! The ambiance is nice, not hard to find, there are tables and chairs for you to sit inside. They even have baby chairs! This business deserves more than 5 stars, wish i was able to stop by more than once here, but guess I just got to visit Texas more often haha!

The place is nice. It is run by an old man that does it all himself. I got some donuts and a burrito. I'll let you know what I think of it. Opens at 6am, homemade breads, doughnuts, and coffee Not much to say except the place seems like a good local spot for a sit down

La Barraca Restaurant - Enchilada and tamale

Stopped at La Barraca in Gallup, New Mexico, for lunch while driving to Santa Fe. For some reason,…read moreI overlooked the 3.5-star rating, and I'm glad I did. This was my first trip to New Mexico and my first real experience with New Mexican food, and this place set the bar pretty high for the rest of my 4-day vacation. I ended up eating a lot of enchiladas on this trip, and in my opinion, these were by far the best I had in New Mexico. The red enchilada sauce had so much flavor, especially with the ground beef, which was my favorite. The tamale was also really good--not dry at all, just right--and the beans had great flavor. The rice was just okay for me, but to be fair, I found out on this trip that New Mexico-style rice just isn't really my thing. It's a little heavier and pastier than what I'm used to, so I'm not going to knock the restaurant for that. Service was quick, everyone working there was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Definitely glad I ignored the 3.5 stars and gave this place a try. Great first introduction to New Mexican food! 5 star

As I mentioned, the Chili Rellenos are darn good. If you stick to those, you'll be fine. Try to stay away from the uninspiring enchiladas. You'll be stuck with the rice and beans. They come with pretty much everything. Quick Tip: When I was there, I was approached on four separate occasions by ladies trying to sell jewelry, candy, and paintings. Right there in the restaurant! They went from table to table. I've never seen that in a restaurant before. That practice left a bitter taste in my mouth..... separate from the beans and rice.

I had a cheese enchilada, refried beans & rice. Had a side of chips & salsa. Husband had Jerry's open-faced burger with red and green chili. Both meals came with sopapillas. Everything was fabulous! I don't believe they have a parking lot as we only found street parking. We arrived around 11:00am. There were about 4 parties ahead of us but were seated within 15 min. Janelle once again was our server. She is so friendly and efficient. Despite every table being filled, she finds a way to give attention to everyone and ensure they have everything they need. I decided to order Miguel's Delight again since I loved it so much last time. Chili relleno and chicken enchilada smothered with green & red chile and cheese and comes with a crisp beef taco. Served with rice, beans and sopaipilla & honey. $12.20. It was tasty and the price is very reasonable for all you get. I thought the chili relleno was a bit overcooked this time but it was still flavorful. We took the sopaipilla's home and they provided take out honey. They do have Coke Zero which I enjoy much more than Diet Coke. Another great stop. Staff is so friendly and the food is delicious comfort food.
