4 stars for the milk shake deserved a 5 but those corn dogs were tight out of the frozen food section of a grocery store. The staff was polite. There is a wait especially on wknds but it was worth it. We parked and ordered. Planning on going back this wknd and perhaps trying a burger this time. read more

The wait for 2 milkshakes took over 45 minutes. This is sad. This place needs new management immediately. Either shut down the stalls and only do drive through or vice versa. Located off the 17, when my husband and I are in the area, we always try to make a pit-stop here before we go back on the road. Try to come here between 2 - 4 PM, where all the beverages are 1/2 off. I ordered a Route 44 Cranberry Limeade, and it was super fizzy and didn't have an overwhelming amount of syrup. The drive-thru was quick and efficient, and the staff is always friendly and speedy. Came here for lunch on 4/8, also so we could get the eclipse glasses. We did the online order and updated the info with the bay number when we arrived at 1pm. We pushed the button around 125 asking for a status. The girl said she didn't know as she had just gotten there. We waited until 140, and i got out and went to the door to ask for a refund because we had somewhere to be by 2pm. She was walking out with the food as i got to the door. We inspected the food, and discovered everything was lukewarm or cold. I brought all the food back to the door and asked for a refund. A girl in a red shirt told me that the bottom of the bag was warm. I pulled out a piece of the popcorn chicken and the fries we ordered which were cold and put it in her hand. She then asked me if i could see how busy they are. I wanted to ask her if that was an excuse to give out cold food... but i didnt. I just asked for a refund again, and she told me to do it through the app. We kept the drinks, then found hair in the drink after a few sips. The concept of Sonic is okay, but I don't know how the employees could keep up with orders of every parking space & table was full. This was a nice departure from other fast food chains. There is a larger variety of sandwiches. There are also a lot of different sides, including onion rings and pretzels. The slushees have seasonal flavors. The prices are competitive with McDonald's and Burger King. The employees bring your order to you. The building has bathrooms, even though you can only sit outside. Bonus points for having marinara sauce as one of the self serve condiments. read more

So as other reviewers mentioned this place is right off route 17, over by the Lowes. I think I've been to this location before I decided this was a good midway point on my drive to Richmond to get breakfast and a limeaid. The staff who came and brought my food out was very friendly even made a second stop to see if I needed ketchup or extra napkins. Now with sonic the food to me is just ok nothing to write home about but the drinks is where they shine. My personal favorite is the strawberry limeaid, also their shakes are really good. I'll certainly be back if passing through this area on I-95. read more

Pay with the app. Once there, check in and tell them which stall you pull into, or go through the drive thru. The service is fast that way. This is was our first time at this particular Sonic. I am not a regular customer at Sonic restaurants because you never know if you are going to get a good meal or not. My visit to this location only reinforced that negative opinion. I got their Philly cheesesteak and my wife got their foot-long Coney hotdog. The Philly cheesesteak was NOT hot and the meat was very dry. The cheese on top was only slightly melted. The whole sandwich begged for a sauce of some kind, but other than the meat and cheese, it was completely plain and had virtually no flavor. My wife made the same observation about her foot-long-Coney which is a genuine Sonic staple; that it had very little flavor. Sonic needs to watch the movie on Ray Kroc; the founder of McDonalds. They might learn something about quality control and how deliver a reliable product to your customer every time. read more

Constantly gets order wrong; if I ask for a drink with no ice, I get ice. If I ask for cheeseburgers with lettuce tomato and mustard, I get plain cheeseburgers with nothing on them. This has happened multiple times even when brought to their attention, next visit, something is wrong again. Stopped in around 5pm on a Monday, they weren't busy. Ordered a #3 Bacon Cheeseburger with no lettuce for myself and a Kids Meal Jr Cheeseburger for my granddaughter. Got home and sat down to eat. My burger was piled high with lettuce. I picked the lettuce off and took a bite, it wasn't fresh at all. This thing tasted as if it had sat around since early this morning. The tater tots were cold and soggy. I don't believe they cooked them long enough. Then I noticed my granddaughter's burger void of cheese with a tiny dot of mustard, no ketchup and two pickles. Her meat was hidden within the bun. It was over cooked on the edges and had a rubbery appearance and texture. The only things we received that were remotely edible was my cherry limeade and her apple juice. $14 for a pile of garbage. I won't be back, ever. read more

It's great for a quick bite. Even when they're quite busy I've never waited longer than 5 mins for my order. The food quality varies greatly day to day, though, so three stars. Sometimes the grilled chicken and burgers are perfect and other times they're dry and tough to eat. The fries are usually decent but never piping hot like the tots, which are always great. When we pulled up this really rude, heavy white lady opens the window and pushes the drinks out. I couldn't even look at them before having to put them in my car. I immediately notice one of the drinks is wrong. Before I can say anything she yells can you give me one of those back. I say sure, here is this one, I don't think it is the lemonade freeze. Came here to grab some quick lunch and because I haven't been in a long time. Went through the drive-thru and ordered the chicken tender meal, came with tots and a piece bread. When I got home food wasn't hot and my tenders tasted okay but my tots were good. I may come back at some point because they do have some bomb slushees but it wont be anytime soon. read more

We've stopped in from time-to-time in years past, but had not been here in a couple of years and decided to take the pups for some softserve one Sunday afternoon. The patio area was partially clean (but that means it was also a little dirty). We ordered a small cup of softserve for the dogs to share and some fries and an ice cream dish for one of us adults. Since there's no Sonic's around NoVA, and I was sightseeing Civil War Historical Sites in Fredericksburg. I've never tried this, but the idea of a drive-in seemed cool enough! Boy was I impressed! Drove right up to the kiosk and ordered just a regular cheeseburger combo with a Strawberry Cheesecake Shake. THAT SHAKE WAS AMAZING! The shake alone makes this place deserve five stars. Service was also very nice, carhop was very friendly and seemed to be in a good mood. Fries and burger were fresh and hot, pretty good for a fast good place. Please put a Sonic in the DMV! For a sonic that just opened, I'm surprised that a couple of their booths don't work, and a lot of the employees are just downright rude. Ordered a Dr. Pepper that tasted rancid, but was already back at work when I tasted it. Called to let them know and the manager says "What do you expect me to do about it?" I have had no real complaints about this location other than, whenever I order a burger with no cheese - it comes out with cheese, and for some reason the car hops never have napkins on them and they always have to go back in to get them.
