I'm writing this to warn future (or current) Angel Rivera brides of my experience with the tailor shop they work with -- Christine's Custom Tailor. My experience was an absolute nightmare. I bought my dress at Angel Rivera, and it was a good experience, but I left there under the impression Angel would be making my custom sleeves (these sleeves were integral to the dress; I've always wanted a wedding dress with sleeves). A conversation happened behind the scenes, and Angel was not doing them anymore. I, unknowingly, arrived at my first fitting to see Robert from Christine's Custom Tailor. Unfortunately, I feel I was sold the dress under false pretenses and promises, even if that wasn't the intention. The first seamstress they assigned me to had to be REMOVED from the project. She gave me different versions of the sleeves that were 4-5 sizes too big, the next version: raw hem, still too big, buttons not equidistant, and one arm with an outside seam down to my mid forearm the other one had a seam down to the bottom of my bicep, the next version: the seam was sown crooked so it did not sit right on my arm whatsoever. I then went to Angel Rivera Bridal Shop to talk to Danielle had this awful experience, and she had to step in and try to advocate for me. Danielle got a new seamstress from Christine's Custom Tailor on the project. She basically had to re-do the whole sleeve 2 weeks before my wedding. She fixed the sleeves and dress a lot, but I still was not being listened to about the lack of structure in the sleeve. And, now there are lipstick stains all over the sleeve. So, long story short, a week before my wedding I have a new seamstress inserting some rigid strips of fabric to the top of the sleeve to provide more structure like I want. Then, I will have to quickly get these to the dry cleaners and pay for a 2-day turnaround because of lipstick stains all over the sleeve. They are small stains, but noticeable to me and not what you expect when you pay over a grand for alterations/custom sleeves. I lost sleep over this whole experience, and after 6 fittings, I am exhausted... one of these fittings being 5.5 hours!!!! There are still random threads/stitches visible on the sleeve and the fabric is pretty roughed up by the buttons. I have very high attention to detail, as should any tailor shop, but this business does not. Save yourself so much mental anguish and take your dress elsewhere. This all could have been avoided if Robert was honest about this team's capabilities from the beginning. They were way in over their heads with this project. Unfortunately, I had to compromise on my original vision because of their lack of skill. I did not want visible seams on the forearm, and now I have them. In the words of my new tailor: 'This is so bad. Why did they do this? These are stitches that should be on the inside, not on the outside like this. Terrible.' Don't expect compensation, let alone an apology, from Robert if they mess up. He's not a bad man, but he is a bad businessman.

If I could leave 10 stars I would. I found Aleana's Bridal on Yelp last year and it was the first place I went to try on dresses. When we went in November for my first appointment, our consultant, Olivia, was ready with a variety of different dress options for me (as I was very unfamiliar with the different style names etc), and after trying on a few, she knew exactly what I was looking for. Ended up finding the perfect dress that day! We asked for a couple days to commit as we had other appointments the following days, and commitment is scary! After going to one other bridal shop, I immediately knew this was the dress I wanted and that Aleana's Bridal is where I wanted it from. The experience I had at Aleana's was unmatched and the competition simply could not hold a candle to the high bar set by Olivia. We cancelled all other appointments, called Aleana's and paid for the dress that day. Fast forward to getting the dress a few months later... I live in Austin so my mom picked it up from Aleana's and flew over with the dress so I could get the fittings and alterations done in Austin rather than have to fly back and forth multiple times. When I tried the dress on it was quite large on me. I had already ripped off the tags and the seamstress here said she could alter it for me for basically half the price of the whole dress, or I could return it and try again. I was besides myself - this is less than 3 months before my wedding! I called Aleana's and emailed distraught. Lana, the owner, called me back and was so kind and helpful - she texted with me, sent me measurement instructions, and even facetimed me while I was trying the dress on again at the Austin alterations spot. She managed to disarm me and took me out of my mental and emotional spiral calmly and with solutions. She did not argue with me once. Even though it was most likely a mistake made by the designer and not anything Lana and her team did wrong, she still was willing to go above and beyond to help save the day. I ended up taking my dress back from the Austin spot and bringing it with me back to Aleana's when I was visiting home in July. Lana and her magician of a seamstress, Elena, worked with my short schedule and limited availability to get my dress altered to PERFECTION in less than 2 weeks and 3 fitting appointments. Lana was there to check in on the progress and ensure I was not just satisfied but happy with the dress and my experience. Even Olivia came by and checked in. In many cases, the sales person and the owner have no interest in you after the sale is completed, and especially if you have any issues or complaints. Not the incredible women at Aleana's! I cannot even state how impressed I was by each and everyone of them. I got married 2 weeks ago and got SOOO many compliments on the dress and how perfectly it fit. (After going to so many shops, friends and family stopped wanting to hit the road with me, so the first time I put on my dress it was just me, my mom, and a couple sales associates). The boutique itself is small, but don't let that fool you they have the best selection. A variety of dress fits, colors, and styles - a little something for everyone. Since it is on the smaller side, you essentially have the place to yourself which was a huge win! Madison was very nice and worked with me to find the perfect dress. She defiantly had a nice personal touch, even saying that she would come with me to make sure that the dress was altered perfectly. She said that the dress would come in the first week of June (a little over a month before the wedding). It would be little close, but not bad, keeping in mind that the dress would also need to be tailored. We also ordered to flower girl dresses from them because, they complemented my dress so well. A few months go by and the flower girls dresses were supposed to be delivered. Both myself and my sister-in-law (mother of my flower girls) called as well as stopped by to see when the dresses would be in. Every time, the date we were told, would always be moved back. This didn't make me feel good about my dress, because we were cutting it close to begin with. In the end the dresses came in about three weeks late. Of course, the first week of June came and went. Calls were made and estimates of shipping dates were given, but it kept being moved back, again. It wasn't until seventeen days before the wedding, when I called, that I was told that my dress had been in for days. Madison's assistant told me that my sister-in-law must have missed the message she left. That is impossible, she was more excited about the dress than I was, but I did double check with her (no phone call or message was ever left). I made an appointment, fifteen days left, to see how the dress fit. The personal touch from Madison, that I got when I first tried on my dress, was gone. Madison popped in long enough to see how the dress looked. I made an appointment, with her assistant, to go to the tailor. I would meet her at the store ten minutes ahead of time. She would not only drive me there, but she would also carry the dress for me. I came back, ten days before the wedding, expecting Madison's assistant to be ready to take me to the appointment. I saw her in the other room busy with a bride (I already knew what was coming). Madison told me that her assistant couldn't take me and that she was in the middle of doing inventor. She wrote down the directions, wished me good luck, and told me to send her pictures of the dress. I was shocked, but headed to LT Alterations. My sister-in-law was already there getting the flower girl dresses altered (later she said I looked confused and sad when I walked in). We got the dresses figured out, apparently Madison didn't tell her how close the wedding was, but she said she could get it done. Two day before the wedding, I got my dress. The alter was great, but the bustle seemed I little confusing....ok...really confusing. Thirteen white ties made of sheer fabric that she couldn't find during her bustle tying lesson. On the day of the wedding I had three, very patient and loving friends, up my dress for a half hour trying to figure out the bustle. They couldn't find all the little ties or maybe some of them fell off (the tailor said they were delicate). It took the event coordinator, with a handful of pins, to finally get me bustled. I loved my dress, but the games they played with me I could never recommend this business to an blushing bride-to-be.
