We purchased a prom dress in March and was told it would be ordered new and in by May 7th. It was not and when I asked for tracking information she said she didn't have it. When the dress finally "arrived" in mid-May, it was stained, had no tags and had pulls in the fabric. I asked if it was the sample. Shelly said no, but could not show us the sample bc 'they got rid of it.' With less than a month to go, we moved forward with alterations and a promise that it would cleaned and fitted. Ultimately, I picked up the dress less than a week before prom. It was still stained. Never sent to the dry cleaner, even after Shelly told me that she sent it to NYC for a special cleaning and I should be thankful. The alterations she did make were sloppy and the dress was poorly fitted. We took it to another tailor who could only make slight alterations to her sloppy work. He showed us how she only took-in one side of the dress!! Unfortunately that meant that the dress would be off-centered. I reached out to Shelly to express our disappointment and she didn't respond. Save yourself the potential for such aggravation!!!

In each alteration and fitting appointment, Lana's talent and enthusiasm for her work was clear. Next thing I knew I was scheduling a second appointment to come back with my bridesmaids and father to get their opinion on the 2 dresses I had fallen in love with. (After going to so many shops, friends and family stopped wanting to hit the road with me, so the first time I put on my dress it was just me, my mom, and a couple sales associates). The boutique itself is small, but don't let that fool you they have the best selection. A variety of dress fits, colors, and styles - a little something for everyone. Since it is on the smaller side, you essentially have the place to yourself which was a huge win! During the wedding and for years after I've gotten compliments and questions about where I purchased my dress. I cannot recommend this place enough, it was truly a great experience during such a crazy time. She was getting a little discouraged after the first two shops didn't work out. The first boutique didn't have a lot of choices and the second was so expensive and not many options under $1000. Bijou was a larger bridal shop and not a formal wear boutique, so I had a good feeling when I walked in and saw several formal dresses that could look great on my friend on mannequins at the front of the store. The lady who helped us was so nice and didn't have any issues with the price range that my friend was looking to spend (not like the second boutique we visited). We actually found tons of dresses for my friends to try. The prices of the dresses were within her limit and there were color options that my friend wanted. We finally settled on a dress that she and I loved. The sales attendant was so helpful and she did a great job clipping the dresses so we can get a sense of how the dress would fit. Overall, the whole experience was easy and pleasant. Definitely check out Bijou if you are shopping for a wedding gown or a mother of the bride/groom dress.

And they are WELL DESERVED! I am not into wedding gowns... at all. And I put off the dress buying as long as I possibly could. My other bridal shoppe experiences don't hold a candle to how comfortable and welcomed I felt on both of my visits to Yes to the Dress. So wonderful, in fact, that I swore I was going to buy a dress through them because I believe they DESERVE the business. It's posh, modern, clean. The staff is knowledgeable, articulate and caring. They could have made me feel amazing in almost any dress. Unbelievably, I ended up closing the deal on a 100% custom designed, one-of-a-kind gown after attending the Leanne Marshall trunk show & the savings were significant. It was a win for the shoppe, a win for Leanne, and a major win for me. The excitement level was through the shop roof!! I lost count of the hugs being thrown around. My mom is going back for her gown, my friend's mom is going to visit for hers. For better or worse, I too read a lot of boutique reviews when I was on my search. Madison was very nice and worked with me to find the perfect dress. She defiantly had a nice personal touch, even saying that she would come with me to make sure that the dress was altered perfectly. She said that the dress would come in the first week of June (a little over a month before the wedding). It would be little close, but not bad, keeping in mind that the dress would also need to be tailored. We also ordered to flower girl dresses from them because, they complemented my dress so well. A few months go by and the flower girls dresses were supposed to be delivered. Both myself and my sister-in-law (mother of my flower girls) called as well as stopped by to see when the dresses would be in. Every time, the date we were told, would always be moved back. This didn't make me feel good about my dress, because we were cutting it close to begin with. In the end the dresses came in about three weeks late. Of course, the first week of June came and went. Calls were made and estimates of shipping dates were given, but it kept being moved back, again. It wasn't until seventeen days before the wedding, when I called, that I was told that my dress had been in for days. Madison's assistant told me that my sister-in-law must have missed the message she left. That is impossible, she was more excited about the dress than I was, but I did double check with her (no phone call or message was ever left). I made an appointment, fifteen days left, to see how the dress fit. The personal touch from Madison, that I got when I first tried on my dress, was gone. Madison popped in long enough to see how the dress looked. I made an appointment, with her assistant, to go to the tailor. I would meet her at the store ten minutes ahead of time. She would not only drive me there, but she would also carry the dress for me. I came back, ten days before the wedding, expecting Madison's assistant to be ready to take me to the appointment. I saw her in the other room busy with a bride (I already knew what was coming). Madison told me that her assistant couldn't take me and that she was in the middle of doing inventor. She wrote down the directions, wished me good luck, and told me to send her pictures of the dress. I was shocked, but headed to LT Alterations. My sister-in-law was already there getting the flower girl dresses altered (later she said I looked confused and sad when I walked in). We got the dresses figured out, apparently Madison didn't tell her how close the wedding was, but she said she could get it done. Two day before the wedding, I got my dress. The alter was great, but the bustle seemed I little confusing....ok...really confusing. Thirteen white ties made of sheer fabric that she couldn't find during her bustle tying lesson. On the day of the wedding I had three, very patient and loving friends, up my dress for a half hour trying to figure out the bustle. They couldn't find all the little ties or maybe some of them fell off (the tailor said they were delicate). It took the event coordinator, with a handful of pins, to finally get me bustled. I loved my dress, but the games they played with me I could never recommend this business to an blushing bride-to-be.
