Sometimes unexpected changes in travel plans lead you to the best places! We were supposed to…read morecontinue our trip to New York City, but because of the heavy rain, we decided to stop in Hudson, NY to visit a dear friend who owns Nolita's Cafe & Gallery. And what a wonderful stop it turned out to be! We honestly had one of the best breakfasts of our entire trip. My son had the turkey sandwich, Mom enjoyed a delicious ham & cheese croissant, and I had the Philly cheesesteak with mushrooms,so good and satisfying! My daughter ordered the Dalgona coffee, and it instantly became her favorite. The food was fresh and delicious, the coffee was excellent, and most of all, the café has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You can really feel the personal touch and love that goes into this place. If you're visiting Hudson, New York, or traveling through the Hudson Valley, make sure to stop by Nolita's Cafe & Gallery on Warren Street. Support a wonderful local business, grab a great cup of coffee, and come hungry! What started as a rainy change of plans became one of our favorite food memories from the trip. We'll definitely be back!

What a gem of a coffee shop. I took my Aunts (mom's friends before they became relative through…read moremarriage) to Hudson, NY. Wound down the day and wanted them to get a little pick me upper. My Aunt Libby says it sounds Filipino...We go in and lo and behold it was! Halo Halo was out so I ordered coffee and they got tea. They also had yummy pastures like coconut muffin and they had mango. Everything was a delight and my Aunts liked it. Service was nice and cheerful but slow. They were packed so they get a pass. However they tried to get caught up and got what we ordered in good time. Ambiance is nice and quaint with indoor and outdoor seating. I can imagine this place getting packed in summer for sure. I liked it! So if you are in Hudson, NY and want some good drinks and other foods, hit Nolita up! Definitely a jewel in the countless number of coffee shops on the street.

My family felt a bagel would make a great mid-morning breakfast/early lunch option, so we gave Hudson Bagels a try. Each of us was quite pleased with our experience! The fella that greeted us upon entering was nice and helpful in guiding our selections. The bagels were fresh and as good as any NYC bagel I have ever eaten. My family and I couldn't have been happier with our visit. The only downside was the limited amount of indoor seating available, but that's not a complaint--rather, just something to know if you're planning of stopping in for a bagel. If the weather is cold, the outdoor seating isn't likely an option. I highly recommend Hudson Bagels! If I ever make it back to Hudson, I'll visit this shop again! :-)

One thing I noticed about these bagels is that there's a lot of seasoning on them. All the bagels in the display seemed heavily seasoned--whether it was everything, garlic, onion, or whatever, they were covered in it. The bagel itself wasn't bad. I've had worse down in the city, so I was pleasantly surprised. Not as much chew as I'd like, but still tasty.

Talbott & Arding was chosen as our first stop on our girls' getaway journey. Tucked in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from the Berkshires, it was a sweetly energetic beginning to our day. We each chose a sandwich from the counter. My smoked salmon on focaccia was a delight. The bread, airy and light, beautifully happy yeast just bounding with lift, defying the constraints of olive oil which left my fingers gloriously glistening. I haven't had a focaccia as happy as that in a minute. Super thin radish, bright pickled shallot and fresh watercress all gave a nice vibrant touch. Ben's cream cheese couldn't possibly be creamier. And the delicate, silky, fresh, luxurious salmon... What a dream. So balanced. I filled my arms with goods- iberico salami, Aleppo chili oil, Blackstrap coffee beans, local chocolates, and an adorable Talbott & Arding puzzle. I'm sure I could have easily convinced myself to buy just about everything I laid my eyes upon. The cheese counter was an absolute work of art. It's clear that Talbott & Arding is a willing servant to the gifts of the surrounding earth and people. The homage it pays is palpable. Our stop at Talbott & Arding set the tone for an intentional, peaceful, vibrant, cozy, delicious, connected trip. I'll be back immediately.
