I have been going to Atefeh over three years now. I get facials and waxing done from her. She is specialized on waxing and facials. She is a very professional and experienced Aesthician and creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Your skin looks at its best. She is truly amazing and the best at what she does!!! read more

Carrie is handsdown the best waxer ever. She gets every little hair out and is super thorough. I also just enjoy being around her, makes the waxing experience something I really look forward to. She's always on time with her appointments and I appreciate that I can book appointments over text and also get text confirmations. The room is clean and calming. I highly highly recommend it. read more

I can't say enough good things about Carrie. She's SO professional and yet also a friend. I've been going to her for about a year, and came referred by a friend I trust. She's responsible for my waxing, and on occasion my facials. Time and money well spent is time with Carrie. read more

I go to Carrie Andros for waxing services and she's fantastic. Not only is she very professional and excellent at what she does, she has a great personality that will keep you laughing and chatting the whole time you're with her (which is a nice distraction when getting waxed!). I highly recommend her! read more

I have been seeing Carrie for years. She is not only fantastic at her job but she always brightens my day when I see her. I literally recommend her to anyone who is interested in getting a wax. She is easy to schedule with and takes care of you so well, especially if you are a first timer. read more

Went in for a cut today with Nina. Her and Jenny were very sweet. On last minute, I lost my childcare, and the salon wasn't that busy during that time, so they let my kid run around with his toys in the salon during my cut! Totally mom friendly! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because you can't just call the salon to book an appointment, you have to call each individual person to book..... too many phone calls ; ) read more

The hair stylist trimmed my split ends, and ATTEMPTED to give me bangs, which ended up like nothing. It was probably a 15-20 mins haircut for around $65. NOT WORTH IT. My hair ended up looking the same as it was before, except for the trim. I expected better from this place read more

This place is the best! I have been seeing Jenny for my hair since before she opened this salon. She has literally been doing my hair since high school! I live in San Jose now, but still travel to Mountain View for my haircuts because I would never trust anyone but Jenny with my hair. I'm proud to be a regular customer here. read more

Jenny is the BEST! My family has been getting our hair cut by Jenny since before she had her own salon, and when Solstice opened up we all followed her here. She's super friendly and easy to talk to, and she's good at cutting your hair exactly how you want it. And she's always been happy to squeeze me in between appointments if I need an emergency bang trim! Haircuts are pricey, but worth it in my opinion. read more

I love Solstice! Everyone in my family gets their beauty needs taken care of here -- we have had wonderful experiences with Jenny, Bob, Gloria, Carrie. Kathy is lovely too and she and Jenny (co-owners) have made this a peaceful and warm retreat in busy Silicon Valley. You can't go wrong with any of the professionals in this salon! read more

I haven't used their hair services but I do go for their waxing services. Carrie is absolutely divine. She has a quick hand and I think she has done a P.H.D in hair removal. lol. She knows to get to hard to reach areas and even though you are in uncomfortable positions, her humor and wit makes it much less. Her technique is as pain-free as it can get. Highly recommend her. And the cherry on the top is that she does nice things for her repeat clients like discounts :) read more

Came in for a full leg wax and had a great experience. I've always switched back and forth between waxing and shaving and was looking for an affordable place that does a good job. Atefah was super detail oriented (she actually tweezed out the ingrowth) and friendly. She also has a buy 5 get 1 free (for same service) coupon which works out really well. This will definitely be my go to place for waxing. read more

Atefeh is the BOMB when it comes to facials and waxing. I have had many facials and this was the best. She also threads brows and does a fabulous job - brows are arched perfectly and shaped to frame your eyes natural shape. So wonderful. Waxing is wonderful - Must go and see Atefeh! read more

I checked out this place because of all the good reviews about Carrie. I have to say she is the most pleasant esthetician that I have ever visited. She is also very clean and tries to find the ingrown hairs. This place is not cheap and unfortunately I was so disappointed when I came home and found large patchs of hair left on my stomach and bikini area. I honestly thought full leg (includes bikini) really means full leg+bikini. I did not ask for Brazilian wax but thought if the service includes bikini wax you get the bikini wax like any other salon I have ever been to; something that doesn't show when you are wearing a normal bathing suit. It seems for that I have to visit another salon. read more

I have been going to Solstice for facials now for 6 years. Atefeh is simply the best that I have ever been to! She uses great products and she even gives you a great mini massage along with your facial. What a great find... I leave revived, relaxed and beautiful. read more

This write up is for my nail stylist, Parvaneh. 12 years ago I was looking for a quality person to do my nails and being as picky as I am I was recommended to Par. I have followed her to 3 salon's since then and not only do I get the best service, I have also made a great friend. Quality to detail, not a 20 minute job. She takes her time and pride in her job. I now live 25 miles away but every mile I drive is worth it. Her Pedicure's are like heaven. I can and will say that I have the best nails and feet in SC County. Prices are higher then most places, BUT you get what you pay for...p.s. she doesn't take walk in's . I just booked my appts for the next year with her. Check her out yourself, you won't be dissapointed. read more

Went in to see Carrie today, for a Brazilian, and I just have to say again how great the whole experience was. Her technique is extraordinary and the result was fantastic! Best EVER! Also, while I was waiting, Jenny gave me a complementary bang trim! Thanks to both of them for another lovely visit! read more

This is a wonderful salon and everyone here is so welcoming and sweet!! The atmosphere is beautiful, professional and has a cute Zen flare. Soraya is an amazing hair stylist and a true master with color. I had a Brazilian Blowout done with her several months ago...I still have the effects and swear it made my hair healthier than it's ever been! Atefeh also gives incredible facials with her healing touch. I feel close to everyone at this salon and highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional services in a place that really makes you feel at home. I look forward to every visit! read more

Carrie is an awesome (hell, now i have to look up the spelling) estheticianist (I would've been close.) She makes you feel comfortable and at ease right off the bat so if you're going in for say...a bikini wax, you stop feeling self conscious right away. She has waxed parts of me my ob/gyn hasn't seen. I was mortified going in but she had me laughing hysterically the entire time, I literally had tears streaming down my face. As far as her waxing skills, she's quick and thorough. I was totally amazed that waxing my knees actually was more uncomfortable than uh...some other, more personal areas. She always checked back with me to see if I was happy with her work-she even talked me out of a couple extra services I was considering. Her pricing has always been consistent but I have been to other waxers who have a range depending on how long it's been since you've waxed. I mean if you're a hairy gorilla and she spends 2 hours on you, I think she should charge more. Make an appt. with her-her bubbly personality is addicting and you won't dread going back in for another. read more

I've been going to Solstice since about 2002. Jenny does my hair and is brilliant with color--exactly what I want. Carrie does my brows (and nose!) and is completely hilarious. The location is cozy, the atmosphere is welcoming--I always look forward to coming here. read more

After struggling and failing to color my hair myself I finally decided I needed to call someone for help so I looked up Solstice Salon. The salon owner, Jenny, was extremely sympathetic when she spoke to me on the phone and told me how I could wash out some of the color. Then she told me to stop by the next day. When I stopped in, Soraya Moafi said she could take me that day. She expertly highlighted my failed attempt at brown hair with dark blonde, light blonde, and strawberry blonde. She saw immediately what would balance the colors and make my hair look beautiful without damaging it. Then she gave me a stylish cut that I absolutely love! It made my hair look soft and shiny--no product added. She took her time and did everything with a careful, perfect hand. I really owe it to her. I am still getting used to the darker color, but I love the highlights and cut. If you are looking for a colorist you need to call her first--I definitely will. No more at home hair coloring for me! read more

Carrie at Solstice is an AMAZING esthetician. I have been going to her for years and constantly get compliments on my eyebrows. Not only is she an AMAZING esthetician she is very charismatic. If you are looking for a new esthetician, I highly recommend Carrie at Solstice. You won't be sorry. read more

Thank you Yelpers. Moved to Mountain View last December and continue to discover all these amazing service providers in the area because of this great community. During the Winter time, you're not feeling sexy anyway, so why bother getting a wax on the regular, right? Then all of a sudden, BOOM! It's SPRING TIME! And the dreaded realization, "Oh shoot! I'm going to be wearing a cocktail dress and bikini this weekend!" I was leaving for a Vegas birthday weekend early Friday and was lucky enough to get a 5 pm appointment with Carrie on a Thursday. This was my first time at Solstice. Carrie is so down to earth, funny and makes you feel so relaxed during the entire ordeal. LOL. I called waxing an "ordeal." Carrie is the consummate professional. Will definitely be coming back again when it's time. She's got herself a new client! read more

I am extremely picky when it comes to brazilians... when I travel (which is quite a bit) I refuse to be waxed by anyone who hasn't received top reviews. (Hey, when it comes to vaginas, I prefer not to settle for average.) As a result, I have gotten waxes from wonderful estheticians all over the world. When I finally settled on the east coast, I thought I found the best esthetician I could ever hope to find. But when I came to California, I quickly found that Carrie blew her (and everyone else) out of the water. I have never experienced a better wax. From her questions before beginning, to her tips for preventing bumps at the end of the wax, she was incredibly thorough. She managed to keep me calm and minimize my flinching, which is a feat in and of itself. I've never felt so comfortable with an esthetician, either. She was engaged in the conversation but never let it get in the way of her remarkable work. Thank you, Carrie. read more

I had my first waxing experience at Solstice with Carrie and it was 100% positive. Carrie has a great personality and she is fun to talk to and funny. I think the chit chat helps distract from any discomfort, but in all honesty the waxing wasn't bad at all. I'll look forward to going back again. read more

This salon is just perfect! I came here withing a week of moving to Mountain View. I had my hair brought back to life by Soraya. Not only is she one of the most talented colorists and stylists, but, just a genuinely lovely person. It was a true pleasure to make her acquaintance, and she immediately made me feel welcome, not only to the salon, but, to the neighborhood :). I have returned to her for highlights and haircuts, exclusively, since our first appointment, about 15 months ago (as of this post). She always listens to exactly what you want to do with your style, and then delivers it to perfection-beyond beautiful, every time. My color is blonde, and finding someone who can blend highlights, so when your hair grows out, it doesn't look awful, is nearly impossible to find. My hair is also very thick, which can be challenging for some stylists I've worked with in the past. Soraya uses the straight-razor (I think that's right:)) on my hair, in addition to scissors, and makes it look sleek and lighter- not mangled like some stylists have done in the past with that same tool. Soraya is the best. Period. I also met Atefah when I came in to see Soraya, for the first time. Atefah has also become someone I consider a friend, as she is just so kind, and caring. We've bonded during my facials, peels, waxes, etc. She is willing to learn a new technique if she thinks it will benefit your treatments, which I have never seen. Just an amazing, detailed professional. She is incredibly knowledgable when it comes to advising you about your skin care-you can ask about basically any treatment, and she can tell you if it is right for you, and her advice has been spot-on. She is happy to chat with you, or, on days when I have been exhausted, happy to just help you relax. The atmosphere she provides is amazing, and my skin has never looked better than when I see Ati. Everyone else that works at the salon is also super kind, and friendly. They are always positive, you never hear them gossiping about clients, and I have heard that before in a LOT of places. It's a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with talented professionals. Everyone who works here seems to be very happy to be affiliated with the salon, and each other, which makes for an inviting atmosphere. They have a variety of beverages available for clients, and sometimes treats, too. This salon is a wonderful gem, and I am happy to be the client, and friend, of both Soraya and Atefah. If you're new to the area, I HIGHLY encourage you to try this salon before any others. read more

Jenny has cut my hair for years. She's quick and great at styling men's hair. I can get in and out in less than it takes me to get lunch in most places! It's a fun, lighthearted atmosphere in the salon. Everytime I go to someone else because of my schedule and timing, they always mess up my hair. This is the best place to go for a reliable and awesome hair stylist! read more

I love this place!! Soraya has been cutting and highlighting my hair for almost 15 years and I'm always so pleased when I leave! (as is my hair). She never lets me make bad hair decisions and realistically tells me what my hair will and won't do when I bring in a picture. Even when I wanted my hair cut a little shorter once, Soraya let me come back a week later and trimmed it without charge. She's so great and accommodating. The owner, Jenny is also fabulous and friendly. I highly recommend this place and definitely recommend Soraya! read more

I like this place a lot. Laura does a great job on my hair and is one of the nicest people I have ever met! SHE IS FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY.

I received a good hair cut and color from Soraya. I like my stylist to give me new ideas and to be a little more challenging to me.

I wanted to make an appointment for my hair cut , I called them like 10 times and I even left messages, they didn't even respond. I don't know about their work but it is important to respond to customers.i am sad to give a bad review. read more

I am updating my review because my esthetician, Atafeh USED to wax my face, but NOW DOES THREADING. I have very sensitive skin and I find that threading is so much better for my face. Not only does Atafeh do waxing, threading, facials, she is very knowledgable in prescribing products for your particular skin type. I only wish I had started going to her when I was younger! My Solstice experiences have always been excellent. I have been going to PARAVEH for my nails for many years and followed her to this salon when it opened years ago. I followed her because I can honestly say she is THE BEST NAIL STYLIST i've ever gone to. She is a perfectionist and almost artistic in her craft. I can't say how many times I've received compliments on my nails. Par is very thorough and always does a wonderful job. Plus - she is so much fun to talk to, it's hard to leave when the appt. is over! I know that ALL of her clients considered her a friend. ATAFEH is my facialist and is THE BEST one at the salon. You leave feeling so pampered and rested. Don't go for her heavenly facials if you have a "chore" to do afterwards. You'll want to go home, have a glass of wine and relax. She puts you in such a relaxing state. I also see her for facial waxing (brows, mustache etc) and I swear I could fall asleep while she's waxing me. You can't beat that.! Since Solstice is a full service salon, I also get my hair done here. SORAYA is my hair stylilst and the best colorist around. I get told all the time how good my hair looks. A few years ago, I was in Hawaii with my husband and we met some guys from San Francisco. One of them was a hair stylist in the city and commented me on my hair and asked where I got it done. I was so flattered that someone noticed my hair that I forgot to hold my stomach in (OK-so I put on a few pounds...) I've gone on long enough about Par, Soraya and Atafeh. Just want to finish up by saying that I consider all of them to be tops in their field and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone asking read more

I had a great experience here. Soraya did my highlight and she did a great job. Since it was my first time coloring my hair ever, I was very worried about the end result color but at the end I was more than happy with the result. Also, I had my full face threading with Atefeh and it was the best threading experience so far for me in bay area. She was very clean and seemed to be concerned about my skin so she cleaned my skin very well before and after threading. read more

I have been receiving facials from Atafeh for two years now and they are the best I have had at the best price. She is the most knowledgeable estetician I have come across and she uses top knotch products as well. I highly recommend giving her a try. read more

I started going to Solstice about 1.5yrs ago and really wanted to recommend Atefeh for all your waxing needs :-) She is a fantastic esthetician with really great prices. Not only does she do great work, but she is very friendly and made me feel really comfortable. I had gone to the same esthetician for many years and even continued to drive all the way to see her after I moved to Sunnyvale, until I found Atefeh...went to her once just for a trial and I never looked back, she did a fantastic job, wouldn't go to anyone else! read more

My first appointment at Solstice and it was nothing short of wonderful! Being new to the area, I was desperately trying to find a new salon to get my hair done at. Yelp reviews convinced me to try Solstice, and I am so glad I did! I was lucky enough to get an appointment for a cut and highlight just 2 days out with BOB after one of his other clients cancelled. From the moment I entered the salon, everyone who worked there was warm and friendly and immediately greeted me. The place just has such a warm, welcoming vibe. And then there was BOB...he was amazing!!! Not only is he a very talented, experienced and knowledgeable stylist both technically and artistically, but he actually took the time to teach me some basic hairstyling techniques so that I can actually style my own hair for a change. How many stylists go that far for their clients? BOB was friendly, personable, a fantastic mentor, and my hair looked absolutely beautiful when he was done with me! He did exactly what I wanted and needed! I felt like a new woman leaving that salon! I am only sorry it took me this long to find BOB and Solstice! Highly recommend!! read more
