I read the great reviews and got my hair done here. Unfortunately, its been a disaster. Susan was really nice and friendly. However, her technique was off right from the beginning. For ex: she cut off 5 inches straight off the bat and then went ahead and cut layers like you cut paper (along a straight line). In my 20 years of haircuts across the globe, I have never come across this. She also dint take into consideration how I wear my hair. My hair looks terrible with one side clearly looking way longer than the other. I have had everyone com up to me and ask whats wrong with my hair (as it clearly looked like my kid cut it). Also, when I discussed the uneven length with her, she said 'thats not how you should look at length, you cant look from the front, you need to look at the back. I cant help you.' I need to spend on another haircut just to fix this. :( read more

I came in expecting to get a fresh balayage done, but I already had some balayage from a previous salon. It was grown out and yellow. Susan suggested that I touch up the top a bit and tone it a different shade. I took her advice and loved it. She also gave me the most beautiful waves. Donr know what happened but we appreciate her rapid response. My wife and I scheduled two haircuts together on a weekend. I called in advance to schedule these haircuts and let her know that we both had very short cuts. My wife has kind of a guy's haircut and I have a short pixie. I wanted to make sure that she was comfortable with that and also that she was okay with cutting hair for lesbian clients because some people just aren't and we don't want to go to those people. Both haircuts were really quite good and we enjoyed the space and she was very nice. The cuts were only a little more we usually pay at chain stores like Great Cuts and such but that was to be expected and the slight extra cost was worth it for a better quality cut & nicer experience. We gave her a good tip for both of us on top of the price. We really liked her and we really liked the haircuts that we got and we would like to be regular customers. read more

I had a great time with Susan during my Keratin treatment session with her. She's very attentive and considerate knowing you'll be spending hours waiting for the session to be over. She offers you a drink and snacks too while waiting. She never rushed. My hair was great after the first wash. But after the first week, and 3 shampoos later, the back portion of my hair showed damage and is now dried out. Looks like the back portion of my hair couldn't take too much of the heat and needed adjusting in temperature. Susan was nice enough to offer a free hair conditioning treatment after reaching out to her and sending photos. I decided to try Susan's haircut after reading all the good reviews. However, I must say I am not entirely thrilled by the experience. Susan was cordial and polite. But the haircut I received is just average, and definitely pricey. I paid $100 for a haircut and blowdry ($50 each) which is pretty expensive considering I only got layers done. Also, I have never been given this kind of split before with a separate price for blowdry and haircut. $50 just for the blowdry is just too expensive. All in all, it was a mediocre experience. After showing her a few photos of what I was hoping to achieve in hair color, she was able to create exactly what I wanted. My hair has already gone through many highlights (some sessions against my wishes), which lead to severely damaged, dry hair. Susan has revived my hair. There are so many pros to mention: 1. Communication. I messaged Susan over Yelp and she responded within the hour. After a few messages back and forth letting her know what I wanted done, we were able to confirm an appointment over Yelp messaging. Throughout the coloring process and trimming, she was very attentive and verified what I wanted. 2. She is extremely courteous and thoughtful. She offered me something to drink and a clean gown to protect my clothes. 3. Professional but friendly. She was easy to talk to and so nice. Loved chatting with her with no pressure to keep the conversation going. 4. Best shampooing experience I've ever had. She's not rough on your scalp/hair. Plus, whatever products she used smelled amazing. 5. Total pro with styling tools (and quick!). I had my first keratin treatment done 4 months ago and it still looks awesome. I normally have wavy, frizzy hair that looks horrible without blow-drying or in humid conditions, but now my hair looks great every day. With or without styling, in a rainstorm, my hair always looks sleek and smooth, and a little straighter than before. Now I can use any shampoo, no product and no blow dryer and my hair still looks great. Susan is fantastic. I was wary to spend $400 to get a keratin treatment, but I'm so glad I did! I will certainly come back to Susan when my current treatment wears out, but so far I haven't needed to. To extend my treatment I bought a sulfate-free shampoo, but I only use it when I'm at home.
