I was surprised she spent much longer time than I expected on this haircut. Most salon stylists don't bother working on my hair much as they are more interested in other girls (who usually dye or curl their hair). I can not recall leaving a hair salon feeling completely satisfied and happy until today!! Cindy did an amazing job, she knew what I wanted and needed before I did! I have long hair with extremely dry ends. I wanted to keep my hair long, and didn't want a dull/flat look to my hair anymore. Cindy spoke with me for 5 mins, and knew exactly want I needed. She removed all of my dead ends and cut long layers. She stopped every time to see where I wanted my layers. Since we were doing long layers and I wanted to keep my hair long, Cindy did a dry cut. By doing so, I knew exactly how many inches was taken during the cutting process. Cindy also gave me a nice "V" shape in the back of my hair, and an angle cut in the front. With just a simple hair cut, she managed to clean up my hair and knew where to trimmed. My hair feels healthy and alive! I am soo happy to have gone to Cindy!! She is really great at her job, and you can tell that she loves cutting hair. She makes it look so easy!! Hair cut was $35 cash (but she also accepts checks). Appointment was at 6:30pm, and she finished at 7:30pm. She spent one hour cutting very intricately and styling at the end. That's dedication!! read more

I've been to 3 salons in Sunnyvale near Murphy St from the most affordable to expensive and all I can say is Cindy is amazing. For $35 she turned my medium length straight and thick Asian hair into a very cute cut and she gave me styling ideas as well. Her work is very detailed and she spent 45 minutes getting it right. She was very pleasant and I dare say enthusiastic about the challenge of dealing with so much of my hair :D Unlike other places where it takes 2-3 days for the hair to "settle in" I walked out of Cindy's shop ready to go. She rents a chair in StudioFX near the Goodwill and King Wah Chinese Restaurant. Call for appointment and she'll text you the address + time. Review are right, Cindy does really great hair cut. I have been to studio 5, and it took them a couple of tries to get to the style i want. Just imagine waiting for them to learn it how I want it to be. I was patient and usually wait 1 week after the haricut to enjoy the style since it grew a little and behaved naturally. But for Cindy, right after the cut, it felt natural already and no need to be ashamed for a week. Since she nailed on her first time. $30 I paid including tip. A little higher than studio 5. But I was happy with the quality. I know I can trust her skills. BTW she rents chair in the salon and not own the shop. It does not matter as long as she deliver. And I know she deliver pretty well. I enjoyed my time at Cindy's. I got a cut for my long hair and also a nice coloring job turning my ombre red. She is very dedicated and spends a long time making sure you get what you want. She never once complained about my somewhat troublesome hair (it's long and can get tangled here and there) like some other hair stylists. I'm very happy with my haircut and the coloring job she did, but I'm not sure how good of a ombre she would have done had my hair not been pre-bleached and dyed. My previous stylist did a great job with the coloring with great dimension and highlights. Though Cindy made my ombre an awesome red color, any dimension it had was from the base by my previous colorist. She did not use foil or a steam machine for my color as well. I am not sure how long the astonishing color she produced will last. The whole process took just under 2 hours. I will return because she's such a sweet, hardworking lady that really cared to make my hair pretty :) read more

So my previous hairstylist Cindy suddenly went MIA last year. Such a bummer, because she was excellent. But guess what - I found Cindy 2.0 last week right by my house! Totally different person, same first name, even BETTER service. As other reviewers have mentioned, she is a genuinely nice lady, and her skills are superb. She also takes your lifestyle into consideration - she gave me a super low-maintenance bob that I could style and make it more polished whenever I feel like it. I never get my hair done professionally and try and save money to do it myself. I had layers and alot of grey/white hair and alot of other colors. My husband treated me to get my hair done in April and YELP help me find Cindy. Not only is she good at what she does, but she's funny and super sweet. She explained to me what needed to be done and even told me upfront how much it would be, I LOVE that. When she was done, my hair was healthy, colored correctly and highlighted great. The colors we chose went well with my completion and looked so natural. I am taking my daughter there this weekend to get her hair colored for the summer. Cindy's a genuinely wonderful person. There's no haughtiness around her and she's skilled and dedicated to boot. I donated my hair a few months ago, and after that my hair basically has no shape. I told Cindy I want to keep the length but have it heavily layered to make myself look less like a kitchen mop. I came here after reading the reviews and seeing pictures on Yelp. Scheduling an appointment via text was very convenient, and Cindy was very sweet and friendly. My hair cut actually looked pretty nice when I left the salon. My reason for giving this poor rating is that after washing it out and looking at it the next day, my layers were completely overdone and it looked like I had a short bob over a long mullet. The reason it blended so well was because she straightened my hair before cutting it, so the slight wave in my hair didn't show any of it. I specifically asked for an easy cut where I could shower and air-dry without much of a fuss--I'm a mom of young kids. This cut required me to blow dry my hair with a round brush every day, and even then, you could see the unevenness. I wouldn't go here again. read more
