I think I found my go to hair salon wow wow wow. I called about 45 minute before closing on a Sunday and Susan was so warm and friendly when she picked up. When I got there, Susan greeted me with a smile and directed me to Helen. I asked for a hair wash and trim. Helen did an amazing job! She washed my hair and gave me a little head message which I was not expecting but, thoroughly enjoyed. She did an amazing job walking me through the haircut and was super precise and careful. She even recommended me some shampoos for hair thickening since I naturally had thin hair. She was so sweet. I can't get over it. The wash, haircut, and styling came out to $75. Had a great experience here at sunny salon with Linda! I called ahead to book an appointment and they were able to take me in the next day. Linda was great- she listened to exactly what I wanted and was very attentive! I didn't want too much length off because I'm trying to keep my hair long and she listened but also gave good recommendations about cutting off at least some of the split ends. I'm writing this a few weeks later and I love the layers! The only thing I would say was when I called I asked about a rough estimate for pricing and they told me 45 and they charge per extra inch cut or something like that. When I finished the totally was 75. I didn't think I got that many inches cut off but it was fine! I was charged $82 for a 1 inch trim on my hair. The stylist tried to justify it as "everything is going up!". Meanwhile the stylist did not use any product on me at all. I've been a returning customer here for 5 years and every time I come in I am charged more and more for the same exact trim. The cut was choppy after I washed it that evening. I found out about this place through TikTok initially so I went in to get a quick trim for my curtain bangs and ends of my hair! Helen was extremely nice and detailed throughout the entire service. I've been to this salon twice before and had very good experiences with Helen and Kim. The salon isn't the cheapest, but I've found their prices to be fairly reasonable compared to other salons in the area. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was very different. I had another stylist, and from the beginning, I wished I had waited for either Helen or Kim. The hair washing and conditioning was extremely rough. She repeatedly scratched my scalp and got water all over my face. I have long hair and specifically asked for a blunt cut just below my shoulders with long layers. The final haircut isn't terrible, but it's not what I asked for. Instead of a blunt cut, it ended up being more of a V shape with layers. While cutting my hair, she used a men's hair clipper to remove most of the length and then seemed to roughly chop at the remaining hair. The entire haircut was also very rough. She repeatedly pushed and moved my head around throughout the appointment, which made the experience uncomfortable. When she asked how I liked the haircut, I didn't say anything because, while it wasn't a completely bad haircut, it simply wasn't the length or style I requested. At that point, I also didn't want to spend another 30 minutes being handled so roughly. I was charged $75 for the haircut, left a $10 tip, and was also charged a $2 fee for paying with a debit card. I was surprised by the additional fee and would recommend the salon review its policy regarding debit card surcharges. Overall, I would still recommend this salon for a trim or haircut if you book specifically with Helen or Kim. Helen is kind, quiet but takes her time and passion in her work. Kim is conversational, kind and does a fantastic job. Based on my experience, I would not personally return to the other stylist. Unfortunately, I'll now be visiting another salon to have the haircut corrected, which means spending additional money to fix a cut that wasn't what I originally requested. read more

He did a great job with everything else but the cut, I wanted only an inch cut instead he chopped at least 3 to 4 inches off of my hair and put way too much layered in my hair then what I asked for. I've had a few haircuts at Sunny Salon and today was my first time requesting highlights. Ivan did an AMAZING job and I couldn't be happier. He exceeded my expectations, hands-down. I typically color my roots at home and it had been at least a year since a round of balayage/highlights, so I was in desperate need of adding dimension to my hair color. I prefer a natural, more subtle highlight and try to avoid chunky or jarring blocks of color. He did such a great job. Ivan doesn't speak a lot of English so I'd recommend you bring a photo or two of what you're looking for to simplify the process if you don't speak Vietnamese. Others did help us translate a few times and it all worked out. Beyond the color, I'm really happy with the cut as well. Ivan was efficient with time and I was in and out within 3 hours including the highlights, root touch up, a relaxing head massage, haircut and styling. I am shocked that this place has good reviews. When you visited I was one of 3 and all of use seemed unsatisfied with the service. I went in for highlights. I should have just left after I explained that I wanted to have the roots covered. Then she said ok so I will add highlights and I will not touch the roots. That didn't make any sense to me because my hair is already pretty blonde. So I re explained. She said that I didn't have enough out growth for highlights (this also doesn't make sense) and it would be better to do all over color. I was not opposed to this since my hair doesn't have the highlighted look anymore. Plus she seemed reluctant with highlights. (Why didn't I leave?!) The end result was my roots were yellow. I saw myself in the Mirror and I told her that it's too yellow. She said no it will look better when dried. I told her I didn't think so. Either it needed to process longer or it needed toner. But I had it dried and yes. It's yellow. She then said that she could tone it. I said no I wanted to leave. I had to be very blunt about no haircut. "Just a little bit ?!" No. I had to be a little assertive with her. Ok I'll dry it more. No Ok I'll finish it. (Grabs a flat iron) No Then she runs at me with a bottle of I believe hairspray. I had to get out of there.
