After 21 years of amazing haircuts by Mariola, I must tell the world! Am I ever the lucky one to have met Mariola all those many years ago. She was recommended to me by a friend and still today, I wouldn't even think to go to anyone else! I can count on Mariola to work her wizardry every time I come in for a cut. I remember her telling me one day, that each time she cuts my hair, it might be just a tad bit different. She looks at my face, the current length. She asks questions, even today...were the bangs too long last time? Do want this part shorter, etc? She takes to a haircut, the way an artist might take to a canvas and she enjoys the process. It may take a little longer to finish, but she's a perfectionist and I'm totally okay with that. The finished look is always bright and refreshing. She is up with trends, and yet knows all the classic styles as well. Being an artist myself, I let her do whatever she wants with my hair. She truly loves to create something great and she does, every time! My friends and family are still commenting on my cute haircut. I happily tell them, Mariola is still doing my hair! She's even able to work with gobs of white strands, making it look cool to be older and not coloring my hair. We joke about that...maybe someday I will. Also, Mariola is just a sweet, wonderful person. We chat about anything and everything and I always learn something from her. Thanks Mariola, for 21 years of great hair!!! If you're searching for your own refreshing new look, set-up an appt with Mariola! read more

So glad I found Naomi Blackwood for my haircuts! The salon is conveniently located and she is great. Highly recommend

I had been going to Parlour 308 in Los Gatos for years but found out my hairstylist retired. Since I live in Los Altos Hills I thought I'd try to find a place closer to home, and chose Somewhere in Los Altos based upon the positive reviews here. I was lucky that Vida had a cancellation the following day. I really don't like changing hair stylists, but had no choice here. Fortunately it turned out that Vida was great! She asked a lot of questions to understand how I like my hair cut, gave me a perfect haircut, and is also a very nice, personable person. The place is really small, and there are 4 different stylists who work there. If you are going there the first time it can be hard to find - it's right next to Chase. Very glad I found a great new stylist! read more

Vida is a sweetheart and was able to get me looking respectable again :) Would definitely come back read more

Beatriz is an amazing stylist and colorist! She's very warm and friendly as well as deeply knowledgeable and professional. Beatriz took the time to truly understand my daughter's complicated situation (wanting to remove her brunette dye and re-color her naturally blonde hair), and to explain what she was doing at every step along the way. Beatriz was incredibly patient with the lengthy and challenging re-coloring process -- and made a very long day pass easily and comfortably. She also gave us great advice about maintenance and future care and encouraged us to call her if we ever had any further questions. My daughter and I are very grateful to Beatriz for being so compassionate and considerate and for working with us so patiently. We're both delighted with how my daughter's hair now looks and feels. Thanks to Beatriz, my daughter feels like herself again. Truly, Beatriz is awesome! I highly recommend Somewhere in Los Altos for its lovely combination of high quality professional expertise along with a cozy, comfortable, intimate atmosphere and very friendly, welcoming stylists. read more

Naomi's door is always open, so to speak. She has been "do"ing my hair for many years and it always looks great. She is conscientious about keeping her area clean and disinfected. She has a sanitation station with sanitation gel, thermometer, and masks. Call her for an appointment. 650-2480217 read more

I went in and saw Beatriz who was recommended to me by a mutual friend. She did such a great job - beyond my expectations. I came in for a subtle ombré and she did a fantastic job! I was hesitant to do any coloring with my hair (due to a bad experience with another hairdresser in another salon), but B put all those fears to rest. She was quick and time-efficient and even made me a latte ;). I LOVE my hair and have been getting so many compliments since. Will definitely be coming back for future cuts and colors. read more

I'm sure everyone at Somewhere is very good at what they do, but I can only speak from my personal experience. I had my hair cut by Nicole last week, and I must say she is absolutely awesome! She listened to what I was looking for and offered a few suggestions of her own. When she was done, I can honestly say that she gave me one of the best hair cuts I've ever had in my life. Guys, if you want a great hair cut, go see Nicole. Girls, if you want your guy looking good, go send him to Nicole. I will definitely be going back to her from now on. read more

Was looking for a new place, I have curly hair so I hate having to find a new place. Beatriz not only gave me a great hair cut but some great advice as well. She took the time to asked questions and listed to my issues i was having first too which means a lot. The place is cute and comfortable, although a little hard to find first time you won't disappointed. read more

I have been living in Palo Alto/Los Altos Hills about 8 years now & since we moved here I kept looking for a really good hair stylist + someone who is excellent in highlights. Iris is very sweet & very professional ! I totally trust her. prices are OK & she'll be very focus & listen to what you have to say. this is a match from heaven. read more

Susan Leoni has been our hairstylist for over 20 years. My husband and I both go to see her. It's like the beginning of a date night. We go to the salon together, get our hair cut and then go out to dinner. We have followed Susan to each salon she has worked at. She does a great job with my husband's hair which is wavy and full and my hair which is pretty thin and flat. In the fall, she gives my hair highlights so that I have a fresh fun look. Susan can take your ideas for a hairstyle and make suggestions on how it would work best for you. We always begin the session with her asking "How is this style working for you?" read more

I love this little gem. Cozy, zen, and nice staff and clientele. I book with Naomi exclusively. She's an artist with color and cut and have been a faithful client for 10+ years. read more

My 12 yo son has tons of thick thick hair, that he was keeping a little long for years, though willing to get it trimmed and neatened. Vida is the fourth person we tried and the first who finally made it look good, satisfying my desire for it to look cared for and his for not a typical short buzz cut. It seems cutting longer male hair isn't a skill possessed by all, but Vida has it. She charges $40, but it is a very good hair cut. The Salon can be tricky to find, it faces the parking long behind Main St. read more

This was my first time going to a hair salon and it was amazing! My stylist, Vida, was literally one of the sweetest women I've ever met and she cut the most perfect asymmetrical bob that would fit my face. She's very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to hair care and styling. I will definitely return here for another haircut in the future! read more

I highly recommend Vida for a men's haircut. Great Experience. Very patient and nice!!!

Vida is fantastic! I wanted my hair colored to more of my natural brown with a few highlights and that has been a big struggle in the past at other salons, she looked at the picture and got it perfect! I'm so excited to have a new stylist. She has a ton of experience, is very down to earth and does not push products, she's great! read more

I was looking for a place close to home for a cut and color and found Beatriz through Yelp. She suggested a Brazillian Blowout for my curly hair. I had been thinking about it a long time so I agreed to try it and I love it! So much easier and my hair feels the healthiest it's ever been. This saves time and money; my hair dries faster and is SO much easier to style! Plus I don't need the buckets of products I used to keep in stock. read more

Beatriz is an AMAZING hair dresser and woman! She has reasonable prices and did a fantastic job on keeping my hair as long as possible but healthy and did really good subtle blending for my grown out dye job =) She is a business and family woman and is awesome and kind! =) Thanks Beatriz! read more

I had my hair done by Nicole and would most definitely go back to her again and again! I have very curly hair and find it hard to blow dry and flat iron myself and even more hard to find someone who can do it for me with the high standards that I have (make it straight as a bone!) and Nicole did that and more for me! She made my hair so straight and shiny and it lasted for five days (which is a lot in the curly hair world). Go see her, she won't let you down! She's very friendly, she listens to your needs and wants and will give you what you ask for! read more

I have had many hairstylists that have said they listen to what I want, but in the end did not. Finding I ris and Stephanie has made my life easier and happier when I go for a haircut, color, or even a brazilian blow-out which I highly recommend for anyone with frizzy hair that wants to look like it was freshly blow dried at the salon, right at home with minimal fuss. these two ladies are awesome and very professional. no hype and nothing phony about them. read more

It's such a relief to have found Beatriz! I liked my previous stylist, but it just seemed like my hair came out different each time I got it cut and the color never really looked natural. I finally decided to try someone new and I'm so glad that I did! Beatriz was able to understand the cut I wanted and she is consistent every single time. And the color looks very natural. She is so friendly and easy to chat with that I really enjoy going to get my hair cut and colored. Maybe I'll go wild this summer and try highlights! I wouldn't try something new like that with anyone else. read more

Beatriz is the best hairdresser! I'll never go anywhere else. Today I had a Brazilian blowout done. My hair is smooth and oh so shiny!!

Just got my hair cut and highlighted by Susan Leone. I'm so happy with the color--it looks really natural and brightened up my hair a lot. Cut looks great too. She's very talented and so nice. All around great experience and reasonably priced. read more

Stephanie is amazing!!! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I could not be more pleased! I had such a hard time finding someone and ended up picking her just from the reviews I read, and thank god I did! She is very professional, has a fantastic personality, and I have never felt more beautiful! I highly recommend her for your hair AND makeup! Thank you Stephanie!!!!! read more

Somewhere in Los Altos is amazing. i love Vida. She does an awesome job on my hair color and style. She also does a great job on brow tweezing and waxing. A definite must to to and get a complete makeover. I have been seeing Vida for 2 years. She is very personable and takes wonderful care of her clients. read more

It's been over two years and I still see Vida. I absolutely love the way she does my hair. The color is beautiful and I get so many compliments. Both her cuts and her color are top notch. She also uses a new product now to make my hair stronger, softer and more mangeable. It has done wonders for not only the hair health but the longevity of the color. Go see her you'll be so glad you did! My hair has never been prettier! read more

I was brought to see Vida by my daughter several years ago after a disastrous hair cut by someone else. Vida was amazing. I have wildly curly, well actually, frizzy hair. It is not easy to style. Vida quickly learned all the quirks of my hair, giving my several cute and different styles over the years. Something I had never been able to achieve before. She is honest about cuts that will look good and color choices, always mindful of my budget. Go see Vida and you will not be disappointed. read more

I have been going to see Susan Leone for 27 years and the salon where she is located, Somewhere in Los Altos, it a wonderful environment, clean, on time and she accommodates all your needs! She has also taken care of my 5 children and my husband (before he lost his hair!) read more

I went through 3 hair stylists before Justin C. (Another reviewer) told me to go see Nicole at Somewhere in Los Altos. She's very consistent and deals with feedback really well (unlike some stylists). My hair is "style resistant" but with Nicole's expertise, I've been happy with my head every time and won't go anywhere else. Highly recommend Nicole! read more

Thank you, Bea, for being the most awesome hair stylist I've had in a long time! The last several hair stylists I went to lasted only one visit from me, as NOT ONE of them listened to my needs and desires regarding my hair (because they new my hair better than me?). However, Beatriz, on top of being genuinely sweet and affable, really cares and listens to her customers. I went in just for a haircut, and with recent issues concerning hair loss, I had my fears of having someone else handle my hair and scalp due to its sensitivity. NOT with Beatriz though. She listened to my concerns, was so gentle with me, that because she had time, I ended up having her color my hair also. She is so easy to talk to, I had such a good time while she worked on my hair. After she was all done, I could not believe how fabulous my hair cut AND color turned out. I told her I was going to a great concert the next day, she gave me some wonderful tips for my hair and make up, and she even gave me a sample of her makeup which worked wonders!! I know I have found my permanent hair stylist! I work in Los Altos, but live 30 miles away, but even if I lived and worked 60 miles away, I will ALWAYS come back to Beatriz - Somewhere In Los Altos!!!! Again, THANK YOU, BEA for bringing my confidence back every time I look in the mirror and see a full-bodied head of hair, with the awesome color that reflects just a hint of dark cherry color in the sun to boot! See you soon!! read more

Vida is so, so lovely, and the salon is super cozy and cute! She fit me in for a last minute booking, which was so great because I was leaving town the day after. I went in for just a trim and ended up deciding that I wanted to get a box fringe done as well. She was very patient with me, as I wasn't sure exactly what it was that I wanted. She was understanding that I was nervous, as it was a big change, and didn't pressure me to go shorter or longer, just talked me through everything that she was doing while she was doing it so I knew what was going on the entire time, which is wonderful to find in a hairdresser. I was so worried that the fringe wouldn't suit me, but she cut it so beautifully and skilfully, I don't think I'll let anyone else cut my hair! Vida really knows what she is doing, I very highly recommend her!! read more

I am always indecisive when it comes to how I want to color/style my hair. I have literally tried every color and cut you can think of, and am always unsure of what I want to do next. Finding myself in serious need of a touch-up (but at a loss of ideas for what to do next), I decided it was time to let a professional take the reigns and work her magic by doing what she thought would look best. Needless to say, Nicole Rossi is amazing! With minimal direction from me (my only request was that I wanted my hair to look healthy and full), she took my stringy highlighted hair from frizzy and lifeless.. to a sleek and healthy style with color that I received tons of compliments on! She trimmed my hair with precision.. because the cut stayed perfectly even as I grew my hair out for 5 months after my visit to her salon. I made the trek down from San Francisco to visit Nicole, but she is well worth the drive and I will definitely do it again! read more

I saw Nicole again for a haircut and color. She made my hair feel and look amazing and I loved the color that she did. My hair literally was shinning. She listens to me thoroughly of what I want and delivers! I without a doubt recommend her. read more
