I went to get my birthday nails hoping for somthing a bit more fancy and fun but no. the first lady said no she cant do that so i went to another lady and she said she could the proceeded to talk shit about my design and chosen colours in their language. She then told me AFTER fileing off my old nails (so i couldnt just leave) that she could not do what i asked for and that it would look bad if she did. so i then decided i would just do one colour and a few cute stars on my nails. i chose my blue and she said "no that colour is not beautiful. ill do this colour" and tried to start painting. i said "no i want this one" and she finally agreed. the nail art is not filled in completely and extremely sloppy. the 1 star is for the colour because it is gorgeous. i paid 75$ for these which is just a fill and this design. I came in as a walk in and got seen right away at 9am. The place looked a little dirty like it could use a good cleaning but the women were very friendly. I got my original acrylic set while on vacation and was coming in for a two week fill. It was $45 for a fill which I was kinda surprised about due to state of the the salon but after seeing the quality of my nails it was well worth it!! They had an amazing color selection and I left with an all around better nail shape. They made sure my nails weren't bulky or had large humps at the cuticle as some salons leave it. They look very natural and feel comfortable. My fill took about 25 min which I thought was a good amount of time. All around I would recommend getting a set done here. read more

Don't be tricked from the reviews that are 2+ years old on this place...it sucis. I went there last week to get a fill for my acrylic set and they charged be $55 dollars. Which in my opinion was overprice however I paid and somewhat liked my nails. Then 5 days later a nail fell completely off (have had this set for 2 months without problem). I went back to get it fixed and they tried to charge be $15+. Both times the customer service was horrible however the inflated prices was even worse. Instead i went around the corner to Blume Nail Spa. Not only was it more upscale, there were more employees, and they were 20x nicer. Paid $7 dollars for fill instead. Spread the word, Kathy does the best nails in Solon! She always fits me in if I schedule a manicure ahead of time with her or if I walk-in last minute. I continuously show her the latest designs from pinterest and instagram, and she soars with my design ideas. When I was dreading the winter weather, she painted a tropical pineapple perfectly. She recently coordinated my nails to match a dress I had for a work function. I have tried several of the area salons and they have told me numerous times that they do not have time for nail art, do not know how to do my designs I like, or charge extra for the designs. This is NOT the case with Kathy. My acrylic manicure with gel polish costs roughly $45 with tax, without tip. I cannot wait to get a pedicure at Solon Nail once it is flip-flop season :) read more

Dirty facility. None of the instruments were sanitized. The lady who was doing nail couldn't see well somehow so my cuticles were not cleans where I had to correct it. I wish I could give a place 6 stars. Since I first wrote a year ago, I still frequent Solon Nail when I am in the suburbs. I firmly think they are the best in Solon. Kathy and Chi are both wonderful. You can see my review below about the time another local salon botched my nails and I came to Solon Nail same day pretty much in tears. Kathy fixed my nails perfectly. The gals in here are so funny and nice and know their stuff! Since then, I have been a continuous client. They are so flexible with scheduling and have always been able to fit me in the same day. The appointments are fast but they never compromise quality. Kathy is the best! She is so knowledgeable about what she's doing and cares about her clients. I usually get a gel manicure but recently tried the SNS Dip Powder nails. They are different than what I'm used to, but far so good (it's like a cross between gel manicure and acrylic). They are currently one of the only salons in the area doing this, in case you're looking for dip powder nails. I'm not super adventurous with nail art, but I always see gals leaving with beautiful designs, accent nails, and other cool nail art. So whether you are looking for well-done gel nails or funky and interesting nail art, I highly recommend Solon Nail. I can't tell you how much better I feel after I leave! read more

Do not get dip powder nails here. I can't speak for all the technicians, but mine didn't know the process of dip powder application. Additionally, I had three cuts by the time we finished. First - she sanded down my nail beds and only applied 2 layers of dip on a relatively light colored polish. I mentioned it looked a bit sheer, and she told me that was the color I chose (for the record, I've picked this color a couple of times at different nail salons, and it's always been a lovely subtle lavender). Then before applying the top coat, she sanded down my nails again (which has an actual layer of dip powder on it) before proceeding to file my nails down to the nail bed to remove the excess nail polish. Finally, she applied the top coat and had me use the UV light to seal it...dip powder nails don't require a UV light. The nail color is nonexistent, and you can see how sloppily my nails were managed. There are no nails on some fingers (middle and pinky) but some nail on my ring finger and index. When she moved on to my left hand, I asked her to keep the length of my nails so I wouldn't have both hands looking like my right. I would be less frustrated if the color were at least opaque, but you can clearly see how messy my nails look with this polish. Doubly upset since I got this done for engagement photos with my guy. She was really sweet, but this "manicure" was not worth $38. read more

Very pleasant experience, this is a very clean and quiet salon. I was surprised to that the solon did not have an overwhelming fume smell! This is usually my peeve with nail salons. They have a vast select of polishes including regular, gel and sns dip powder. I was taken immediately for my pedicure and the seat was ample and comfortable ( I'm a plus size woman and some seats can be too tight). The seats work everything from head to tush!!! Nearly put me to sleep and really aided some lower back pain I'd been having. My pedicure was great and super affordable. Would definitely return. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday, a couple of other people there getting manicures. I got a French pedicure by a lovely young woman, Ree, who was friendly and did a great job! Overall my experience was fine, they have an impressive amount of colors in SNS Dip where most places are lacking. I'm not super picky about how my nails are shaped as long as they are all consistent and done well. The shape isn't great on each nail. I requested almond shape but got a botched almond shape on a few of the nails. And there was no massage at the end and I had to put on my own lotion. 49 bucks with tax. I was looking for a place that could do dip powder nails which can be hard to find. I love how they last but also don't damage the nail like acrylics. I have tips added to mine since I can't keep long nails to save my life. Absolutely AWFUL!!! Avoid at all costs. My sister went to get a full set and came home in tears. She was bullied into a color that she didn't like and the owner kept screaming the prices at her. She paid $75 for this. When I called, a man answered the phone and was exceptionally rude. I was hung up on. He called me back and said "Come tomorrow 9:45am". I told him my sister is on her way back and he got angry and said "MA'AM YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO LISTEN. WE HAVE CUSTOMERS HERE". When we arrived, he was already glaring at us. I asked them to redo her nails or simply take them off. He refused and said they don't have time for her. In return, they yelled and said we bad manners. We were threatened they would call the police on us. All of this yelling and screaming is caught on video. I was terrified. How awful. Any salon I've gone to has been more than accommodating, FRIENDLY and redos any mishaps within 5 days free of charge. Please spare yourselves a toxic environment. The price was not the issue, but screaming the price at your clients is uncalled for. The quality and abusive nature from the owners is NOT WORTH YOUR ENERGY. read more

Moved to area and tried to find a good salon. Looked at reviews so tried this place. I got an SNS manicure and had a few issues. First, the put a design (push pressed design) onto my nail without asking me. It was on my nail and in order to remove I would have had to completely redo SNS which I didn't have time for. (BTW, they charged me for a design too) Also, they do not put the SNS top coat on. They top it with gel and UV light. So after a week my nails look absolutely horrible since the gel is peeling off the SNS polish. read more

Every single time I call, they always are able to get me in. I recently went, and they were offering "dip" nail polish. I never had that done and I decided to do it. My daughter has acrylics. I've taken her to several local places. I've never been happy with the results. They've either been thick or shaped strangely, etc. Kathy did her nails at Solon Nail. She did a wonderful job. The nails are thin and shaped perfectly. She did a great job and was very nice. I took off one star because we'd made an appointment but weren't taken until 45 minutes past the appointment time. Obviously they'd given her a walk in shortly before our appointment time. We will go back and hope that we don't have to wait so long. I would suggest that you make an appointment because I saw them turn away at least 3 people because they had no availability. I am updating my review to 5 stars. We've gone back many times now and never had to wait more than 5 minutes since that first time. Full set acrylics with regular polish was $33.30 before tip (3% surcharge for using credit card)...the younger gentleman did my manicure and while he was very friendly and easy to chat with, he definitely cut corners. Didn't push back cuticles, didn't properly trim nails, didn't make acrylic flush with nails, and didn't pinch the acrylic (so it looks more squat than as narrow as my nail-bed. Gotta say everyone is very nice in this shop, and I guess it would have been a better experience if I had been very very clear what I wanted and checked more often the progress of the application.
