Located and easy to find; the medical plaza has a plethora of medical offices with a variety of specialities. Made me smile as I walked in as there is a Oral surgeon here that helped make my sister's experience with her wisdom teeth a little more hilarious. Anyways the office is spacious with a small frames space to check out some new designs. My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of working with Karen at the front as she was pleasant and worked with us as we didn't really have the best understanding of our coverage. While the forms were sent to us, my boyfriend had missed a sheet and quickly filled it out. Our 3pm apt was pretty on point as I was working with Jen a 19 year veteran to the facility. She was polite, professional and patient while I asked odd questions about my contacts and the place of business. Standard procedure with reading letters on the wall, machines to measure my detoriating eye sight and dilation to finish it off. Everything was quick and we were sitting with Dr. Sparks in no time. Nothing too serious lucky for me and we were moving on to see Denise who scheduled me for my contact fitting and follow up. They have locations in Windsor and Bloomfield which is nice and easy for me to get to from work so win win. All in all I had a great experience. Everyone at the Windsor office was friendly and tolerated the banter between my boyfriend and I. Stay tuned for my review with the Bloomfield office.

Very poorly organized office, very bad "waiting time"/"service time" ratio, very skillless reception manners. Natalie was perfect! She was highly professional, very sufficient and very pleasant. I can't stop praising her! Doctor was... just nothing. Natalie made all measurements and tests. My prescription was done by her in 10 minutes! But then I had to wait for Mr. Pasternack for awfully long time just to sign this prescription. Such a time wasting. Very bad service!

The person that helped me was a guy named Paul - he was really great in helping me find not only a pair of glasses but a cool pair of sun glasses as well. Getting glasses can be a little stressful since it's not something you really do all that often, but Paul was really knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions quickly. They charged me a separate charge to give me a…read moreprescription for my eyeglasses - no other eye doctor has charged me extra to do that since that is the point of me going to the eye doctor. In addition, they somehow billed my insurance using codes that resulted in me having additional charges not covered by the insurance. Again that has never happened at any other Eye Doctor I have ever been to. I believe these issues may be due to dealing with a large corporate structure instead of a local Eye Doctor's office. ReFocus in a corporation buying up local offices and consolidating billing and policies such that they extract more money from patients while providing poor service. I called them to see if they would address any of my concerns before posting this, but I could not even get anyone on the phone who had any authority to help me in any way.

Where to start? TLDR; wrong billing for insurance, then tried to get yet more $ out of me to…read morecorrect; badly wrong PD on Rx that rendered this year's AND last year's glasses worthless. Longtime patient. My insurance pays for either contacts or glasses 1x per year, not both. Last year did contacts - fine. This year, was very specific about glasses Rx. Received the Rx, but also "just because I was there" was talked into a quick contact eval which amounted to putting in the lenses and reading the chart; no change in Rx. There was no corneal eval, no rotation check, nothing, but I paid some extra at checkout for the service. Then the problems: insurance wouldn't pay for glasses because Prudhomme had billed for a contact fitting. After several increasingly aggravating calls, they billed the insurer correctly (but initially told me I'd need to pay even more $ for the contact eval; eventually they relented). For several reasons I ended up buying glasses from another vendor my insurer recommended, and - surprise! Prudhomme had my PD Rx wrong (too narrow) by about 10mm. Not sure how this is going to go with the current glasses vendor, BUT after a couple hours, it occurred to me I bought glasses a year ago (2024) that were unwearable - turns out Prudhomme put the wrong PD on THAT (earlier) Rx too, complete waste of my money.

No one told me only one doctor was on. At 2:05, I asked why I was still waiting. "Sometimes things happen that change the schedule by a few minutes." I responded that 30-40 minutes is not "a few minutes." I wasn't able to escalate my complaint as the office manager was not in. The receptionist, while pleasant, was useless. I left. I had plans in the afternoon, and my time is valuable. At 2:10, I received a call from the doctor. He said there had been earlier "emergency," but he could see me now "without having to wait." Only, I had already waited. I said I wouldn't be coming back then or ever. The next morning I received an auto-email as if I'd no-showed for the appointment, reminding me to "reschedule for a better time." The customer service was awful, and neither the receptionist nor the doctor cared about wasting my time and did not offer a discount or incentive for me to return. I had my first visit to Connecticut Vision for an eye exam today. What a great experience!…read more Beautiful office with every new high tech piece of equipment. Totally free from any of the discomforts I'd experienced in previous eye exams... No dilations, no air puff in the eye. Afterwards, I received a very thorough overview of the tests while using 35" high-def color monitor to look at the various parts of the eye interior. Allise has excellent chair side manor and a cheerful disposition. Staff was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this service. Accepted Medicare. Oh yeah... Great Logo too!
