You see a sign that says wait to be seated, and after 7 minutes, we stopped waiting and took a table. After 10 more minutes, two waters showed up but no menus, napkins, or utensils. This method creates multiple trips back and forth. The employee looks busy, but very little is getting accomplished. When do these people get trained on customer service? They seem totally enamored by the POS screens rather than checking on customers. On the 4th trip to the table, napkins and forks showed up. It is no secret in the restaurant business that when employees make regular visit to their tables there is more chance to sell more food & drinks. All this wasted motion works against the interest of the owners. The food was served hot and both our dishes were very tasty. The business manager is either not involved or not aware of these deficiencies. Something as simple as if you are going to put a sign out requiring guests to wait to be seated, have someone stationed there. Duuuuuhhhh!

First night in Boise, we were tired from flying and looked for a local place but didn't want to wait so we ended up here. I was thinking it was just bar food but saw these Sweet Potato Enchiladas and was very intrigued. Sweet Potato Enchiladas are something you need in your life!! The chipotle chile verde sauce, cashew cheese and chimichurri on top oh my. You bet I are everything and I had to hold myself back from literally not licking the plate it was so flippin good. Instead of rice it was served with an avocado and spicy chili risotto which was a perfect compliment to the enchiladas. Don't pass up Solid, do yourself a solid and stop in !

I came here during taste of Boise and had the pumpkin soup, blackened salmon, and pumpkin cheesecake and it was sooooo delicious! Everything was flavourful- the soup had such a deep flavor and the salmon was cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce. The restaurant is warm and welcoming as well. Excellent service.

23 bucks for the world's smallest piece of salmon. In a fun and festive friendly place. Excellent waitress. Or is it 'server' to be P.C...?.. Prices high for what u get. 9.99 for soup and salad -- ok. I fell for it ' vegan chili'. Beans in canned stewed tomatoes. Salad is bagged. Nothing special here, folks. But the server was lovely.

Pro-tip: Decent food for a place that's open so late at night. Highlights: Not a ton of late night options in Boise, so I was surprised that the food here was pretty decent honestly. The menu is pretty extensive too and it's not overly priced. Lowlights: The server definitely got my boyfriend's beer order wrong and even when we pointed out that it was the wrong one, he didn't believe us.

Just flew in from S. Cal and walked here from our nearby hotel. Beautiful night, delicious burgers, great music, sweet service and relaxing atmosphere - conveniently located in downtown Boise. The vibe here tonight is lovely - and it's only Wednesday. Our burgers were $12/each and really good. Service was great - attentive and polite. Soaking in the perfect night.

On our way to Yellowstone N.P., started our drive this morning in Cottage Grove, Oregon. (I few in to Eugene from So Cal over the weekend. ) We are overnighting in Twin Falls and it is late (9 p.m. ) so we decided to find a restaurant that was open late. Lucky us. Solid Grill & Bar in Downtown Boise was open until two. Our server, Hannah, could not have been more friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. 5 stars! And the food--perfection. I had the Bleu Idaho Steak Salad. My traveling companion had the Poutine. I'd go back in. heartbeat. Don't miss this place if you are in Boise!

Solid is a nice place to grab a late night meal. The staff was very nice and communicative about what time the kitchen closes and about staffing if they are short. They staff is knowledgeable of what spirits they have and drinks that are in season and popular. As well as their house BBQ for their chicken wings is a must. They have a large space available for banquets and other parties you may want to have. Go check them out and hear about their special along with enjoying happy hour twice a day from 1600-1800 and 2200-0000.

We saw a young couple get frustrated with how packed it was and left, but what do you expect on a Friday night, this isn't a fast food place. We stuck around and placed our order. Got lucky because they only do Fish Fry's on Fridays! Ordered the prawns and fish, got two order of buffalo wings, Mac and cheese, chipotle wrap, and kids burger. Fish was amazing!! Tasted Fresh! Not frozen! I was really not sure what to expect and faced my fears and ordered it. I can say it was some of the best fried fish I've had no lie. I was super pleased with it! Next time I'll try just the fish and chips in hopes that it comes with one more piece. The prawns were skinny ones and I wasn't too fond of them but the fish the main dish was perfect! Wife and bro-in law got an order of wings each and they were both super happy with them, I snagged 3 and would say top 5 wings I've had. Sister got the chipotle wrap and she said it was really good! Wife also got the mac n cheese with bacon and her and the kids loved it. Kids burger was able to split between two kids and they tore it up along with the mac n cheese! We had a great experience! Just be patient with staff and cooks, they get bogged down and you have to expect that or be ready to order fast when you're there.

Plan to circle the block several times if you want to be close. Otherwise plan on parking and walking. When we walked in, 5:30-ish on a Thursday evening the bartender told us to sit wherever we wanted. There were two booths and a couple of other tables available. It took several minutes for anyone else to acknowledge us and bring us menus. When asked, the waitress didn't know what beers were on tap, but did have them all written down. That was helpful. Also seemed to have a good selection of "house" cocktails, which would be fun for happy hour or a game day. Vibe is definitely sports bar on a college campus, but the patrons were not college-aged. As others have commented, great overhead music. While we were there it was 70s classic rock. Now for the food - all great! Hubby gor the finger steaks, and while the breading looked very dark, he said they didn't taste burnt or overcooked. They came with BBQ sauce and an Asian-ish sweet-chili-horseradish sauce. Not cocktail sauce and very weird. I got The Grateful Shed burger with tots. It was delicious! Served on a brioche bun that could not stand up to the burger and how juicy it was. But that's what a fork is for. The candied bacon on it was so good. And the tots! Crispiest I've have in all of the treasure valley! It did take quite a while for the food to come out. I had a good view of the kitchen so I know it wasn't the wait staff. And its never good to see tables that ordered after us get their food before us. That's the only reason for a 4 star rating. If you aren't in a hurry, and maybe don't mind walking for parking, I'd definitely recommend The Shed!

Bittercreek provided me with just what I needed today. Warm and inviting service and a terrific selection of food and beverages for me to enjoy. Dined alone at the bar and everyone that I came into contact with did what I expect. Timely greet and informative service personnel. Hats off to the whole team. Was talked into a Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley and it was spectacular. I usually stick to Willamette Valley reds but went for it after a tiny taste. It's what I needed but didn't know it until it was offered. Too many times I stick to my wheelhouse and don't stray but was coerced by someone who I assumed was the inhouse shotcaller. I had two glasses and it went well with the Bowl of Corn Chowder I was told about. Served hot and with some semi crusty sourdough that hit the spot. Finished every spoonful and it brought me back to my time in New England. The soup was done right for sure. Noone trying too hard which is an issue when trying to recreate a coastal favorite while land locked in the mountain state of Idaho. Right before I had.my second glass of Chardonnay, I asked "the front of the house shot caller" about the selection of Rums and was offered a taste of one that could have been a contender for my follow up beverage. No mixer needed. Would have made a great sipper, as most good rums can be but I elected for the second glass of Chardonnay. Glad that I did. Was feeling a bit buzzed and full from my meal and had to exit stage left before trying a dessert. I'm sure it would have been epic but I'm thin for a reason and don't overindulge. Thank you Bittercreek! My visit with you all made me wonder why I hadn't been in since 2006 or 2007. I'll, certainly, be visitong more often and will bring others with. You've got a fan in me!

By coincidence when walking around town I spotted it and had to go try. I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy and these definitely beat what you would find in a Denny's or IHOP by a landslide on the taste and aesthetic scale! It's super filling since there's so many carbs, but the taters (more like small potato wedges) are actually a clever add-in. They add a slight bit of texture to the mushiness of the gravy-soaked biscuits, and potatoes and gravy are already best friends in terms of food pairings. There's also garnish on top (some sort of greens and cheese) that gives it a nice look and extra flavor. Delicious! I didn't think much of the customer service initially aside from thinking they were super friendly. However, I sat down at one of the tables and took my time eating and people watching. So many people came by the store to talk to the chefs with such familiarity that it felt like this popup was its own restaurant and community. It hasn't reached a point of popularity where it's flooded with people, but the more I look back on the experience, the nicer I feel about it. The bread consistency was great, not too soggy, and with a great crispy texture. I wish they had spread the tri-tip out more to make sure every bite was being celebrated. I also ordered the mac and cheese as the side per the instructions of the bartender, James. Let me say that was one of the best mac and cheeses that I have ever had. Now my biggest beef with the Fish (get it) is the size of the filets and the temp of the oil they cook them in...too thin of a filet and too hot of oil...result is a very dry and not very flavorful piece of fish. I've had it a few times where it's like eating a crispy leather like thing...way too hot oil and way too dry of a result of the fish...not very appealing. The fries or pretty good, tend to be a little on the hard crispy side as well, very hot oil is my guess (speeds up cooking time)..but not bad. Overall, for fish, do the fish tacos...they are very good! I would pass on the fish and chips, but that's just me! I like large, think filets, light crispy batter that has a crunch and flavor without the grease! Fries, short and thick, good crunch without being dry in the middle...
