I never like to give a bad rating to a restaurant but in this case, this was one of the worst meals…read moreI've had. The problem is, the place was packed and is clearly a very popular restaurant here. To start, the service was great! Everyone was super friendly and fairly attentive. Moving on to food. We shared two appetizers, peppers in oil and fried Zucchini flowers. The peppers were ok but had just a low quality olive oil that made them seem greasy. I've had fried zucchini flowers many times growing up in an Italian household but these were the worst I've ever had. They were overstuffed, over battered, and again, greasy! Not sure why they offer this dish when you can't taste the flowers at all as they are overpowered by everything else. Next, I had Chicken Marsala. I've had chicken Marsala all over the world, have cooked it many times, and I absolutely love the dish. This version was unlike any other version I've ever had with the addition of a ton of peppers. The chicken was cooked properly but the sauce was gloppy, didn't taste like Marsala, and seemed like it was cooked by someone who doesn't understand that the best Italian dishes should be simple and not "overhanded". The chicken parmigiana was the best meal out of everything they made but unfortunately the spaghetti it came with had waaaaay too much sauce and the parmigiana cheese (which we had to ask for) seemed like the low quality stuff you can buy in a jar at the supermarket. I guess the overall impression was poor quality Italian food made with average quality ingredients. If you like Olive Garden, then you'll probably be happy here as it felt like this restaurant from the food to the decor is stuck in the early 80s. One other note - the prices were very reasonable but as many Italian places in the US are, they don't understand that the main principle of Italian food is high quality ingredients combined with simplicity.

I absolutely wish that, I could give this zero stars. My Husband and I ordered takeout, not once but…read moretwice! Both times were absolutely horrendous. Ordered there "famous" Station Square Charred Ribeye and Prime Rib Au Jus and neither of them had any flavor at all. My husband said it tasted like steak from Ponderosa back in the day and he was absolutely right. We also ordered the lamb lollipops that were dry, had absolutely no flavor. The little bit of juice from the lamb had soaked into the instant mashed potatoes, that are underneath?? it's an appetizer?!? They tasted like paste!!! The most flavorful thing we got was the Ajou sauce which I ordered an extra side of it/paid for the up charge and they were extremely rude about it. It was extremely overpriced and nothing was good! We won't be returning. As a young child, I used to eat there a lot with my family, but I see things have changed tremendously.

We were…read moregiven a brunch menu (very limited) thought about leaving so we could get a burger but decided since we have 8.5 hours left to drive we would just get something. Not 5 minutes after we place an order the table behind us gets a full menu, with burgers and sandwiches on it. Am I a bit PO'd.... YEP Also the waitress doesn't smile. She looks miserable, geez, at least make an effort! So I ordered chicken and waffles and my husband ordered a few wings. As for the food..... The chicken tenders are AAMazing! Waffle is good and the hubs like the ginger lime wings although a small side of sauce and a few celery and carrots would make a better presentation. But for the diamond in the rough. I can only assume it was the manager/owner that delivered our food. I asked why we had a limited menu as I read here on Yelp I should have the prime grilled cheese. This man offed it to me on the house now that is some great customer service. I had to decline bc we have such a long drive ahead of us but he hands down was so kind. So I'm going with 4 stars. To sum this up I would happily come back just bc of his kind service! As we were finishing up Doug the owner came by again and he is a great reason to visit this place. He definitely has a heart for customer service!! Thanks Doug

What looks like a nondescript bar with a modern twist is actually a goldmine of appetizers. My family of five descended upon the place today and we ordered a slew of appetizers. Let me tell you, it was a feast for the ages. The place was immaculate, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the service was impeccable. I had a hard time choosing a favorite, but if I had to pick, it would be the Brussels sprouts and crab Rangoon dip, closely followed by the lime wings. We're all from different parts of town, but we'll definitely be back. It's a hidden gem worth discovering.

It pains me to write this review, but believe it's important to write to help folks make an…read moreinformed decision. I have been having dinner here a few times a year for 18 years. We have rented the vault for my most recent birthday for example. Based on good prior experiences, we made a reservation for another family birthday and had folks in from out of town. Our reservation was for 6pm and we were not able to be seated until 705pm. The interim between arriving for our reservation and our seating has made it clear to me that something has changed in this place and they cannot support the level of service they have been known for in the past. The floor manager was not able to find our reservation even when displayed on our phone. After some help, it was found and despite the cake we had preordered for the event, the staff was caught by total surprise and suggested we might have dinner elsewhere. We even had a tense moment where she asked my sister to backup because she felt she was too close, while holding my sister's phone to try and find our reservation. There is no seating to wait so we spent our idle time in the parking lot. Selah was the birthday party's ideal and we were willing to wait. Our server did try to be welcoming, but a series of delays in servicing of drinks and food had us leaving at first opportunity a little after 9pm. I truly feel that a staffing or communication issue caused the restaraunt's overall functioning to fall through. Seated at 705, drink order at 730 and not served till nearly 8. My son's spaghetti and meatballs had no meatballs and my brother in law's gnocchi trio had one. They had run out? They comped my brother's meal. We took the cake home to celebrate and it was an excellent cake. I don't care about money or food at its core. I go to dinner with my family for an experience and to share joy. The business of this place made that not possible. While I'm sure I will continue to have dinner at Selah for many years, I can't risk important or larger tables there any longer. We had a bad time on what was supposed to be a warm night and much of it was because of strange social interactions before, during, and after our meal with the staff based on what I'm sure was high anxiety over repeated delays due to be understaffed and underprepared. Please consider that reservations are made to ensure service, not to detract from a healthy walk in crowd. It may be that Selah is just the place to go for 2-4 people for a mid level dining experience. I had not felt that way until today, and held it as one of the area's best places to dine.
