Our wedding here was fabulous! If you are familiar with this area you know that Kate Sessions is famous for the view of South San Diego (and on a clear day TJ), but what some of you may not know is that right across the street is a fabulous venue called The Soledad Club. First things first, this is not a place where you might hold a "Platinum Wedding" as there are really no frills. It's a DIY place (do-it yourself) and you get what you put into it. We had a wonderful wedding and really did minimal work to the interior to make it ours. They provide a reasonably priced, functional house, transformed into a Bridge Club during the week and wedding/anniversary/birthday venue during the weekend. It is owned by the city and operated by a lovely woman, Renee Hirsch. Renee is great - she is friendly, responsive and organized. She also works with the French Gourmet and is a wedding coordinator herself. She is gracious enough to answer any questions you may have and will give you suggestions or some free advice if needed. The contract is simple, and deposit (which we received back in full 2 weeks later) was $1000. Our guests raved about the venue and the view, there is wrap around porch which we donned with paper lanterns, belly bars and candles. Inside is a little plain jane, but we dressed it up with some white Christmas lights and most of the decorations were from candles and the tables. We fit 120 people sitting for dinner and had plenty of room to dance the night away. Another awesome plus to Soledad Club is you have access to the hall as early as you need it, the morning of your event, noise restrictions make you end the festivities by 10pm, and they require you to be cleaned up and out by 11pm. We held our ceremony at 430pm, and the last song played at 930pm, we ended early but kept the party going at the hotel! Long story short, I had an amazing wedding day, everything was perfect and my new hubby and I were able to throw the party we wanted without breaking the bank! Bottom Line - If you are a bride who is budget conscious and love our fine city of San Diego, there is no better place to party with you and your closest 150 friends and family.

Across the street from Kate Sessions Park is a small recreational center that is open to the public for whatever function you may have. Apparently, bridge is popular. But you can also have wedding receptions, for example. I was at a wedding reception this weekend. The main room comfortably fit a little more than 100 people with a dance floor and an area for the buffet dinner. There was also an open area by the entrance for people to stand and mingle, plus there was the outside balcony/patio area. If you want to see the view, check out the pictures I uploaded. The photos on the website are true to the real space and how it looks. There is no a/c; only overhead fans, so keep that in mind for summer events. Also, the lot is small, so if you are having a large event, some people will need to park on the street. Rental information is listed on the website. This place is recommended if you want a great view for a nice event.

Had my baby shower here recently and had a great experience! Such a spacious and beautiful venue, highly recommend!

Got married here in November 2014. Was so excited when I found this venue. It is by far the most bang for your buck as far as wedding venues in San Diego. The views are incredible and the flexibility of the venue allows you to have either a relaxed, laid-back wedding or fancy. We had the ceremony on the outdoor patio and the reception indoors. Renee was great to work with and Mario who was in charge of rentals did an outstanding job. He saw my vision and made sure everything was exactly as I wanted. By far the most affordable wedding venue in San Diego. (Believe me, I did a TON of hunting and research and was so excited to have found this venue).

Had my wedding there on March 20, Renee did a great job she helped us so much with the vendors and got the whole thing flowing like clock work I would love to give 10 stars if I could. I recommend you book her

A little confusing to find but once I realized that it wasn't the park across the street I was good to go. What a gorgeous view. So happy it was a clear day. So Clear you could see all the way to the Coronado bridge. Once we went in, there was a red carpet for us to walk on and we were greeted by lovely ladies in traditional Hawaiian clothing and given a colorful lei and a delicious Mai Tai. To the right was a cute little setup with mermaids. I wanted to take a picture of them but they asked if I waould like to take one with them. Of course I would. I grabbed a prop and took my photo. The smells wafting from inside was so yummy I couldn't wait to try some. (I was hangry so I forgot to take a photo). The entertainment was super cute and so many vendors to choose from first. I made my way around to several vendors and conversed until my tummy was talking to me and everyone around me. I scarfed down the Hawaiian chicken, rice and macaroni. Oh so good. Thank you so much for such a great evening of fun! Can't wait to do it again next year.

Located right on the water in beautiful Mission Bay, it offers a rare mix of indoor and outdoor space with stunning views and a relaxed, beachy vibe that's perfect for weddings, receptions, and large celebrations. What sets Tower Beach Club apart is not just its location, but how user-friendly it is. You can bring in your own vendors (like me!), which gives clients more flexibility and control over their event. It's truly just a beautiful, open canvas of a venue. The built-in bar is spacious and perfect for bartending services, and there's ample room for setups of all sizes. Another huge plus: parking! The large lot makes it incredibly convenient for guests and vendors alike--something you don't find at many venues in San Diego. The owners are also fantastic to work with--responsive, accommodating, and professional. If you're looking for a venue that's scenic, versatile, and vendor-friendly, I highly recommend Tower Beach Club. It's always a pleasure to work there, and my clients love it just as much as I do. Who wouldn't enjoy this scenery?! Molly @mollyshakesitup

We truly cannot say enough great things about Yard & Sea as an event venue!…read more We hosted our 20-year high school reunion here, and from the very first interaction, Jay went above and beyond as a venue host. He made our site visit seamless, and once we booked, the level of support exceeded all expectations. The pricing is incredibly reasonable--especially compared to other venues--and Yard & Sea includes so much like tables, linens, chairs, etc. It is flexible, customizable, and works for a range of budgets and needs. The vendors they work with are top-notch. We received tons of compliments on the tacos and the photo booth was a huge hit. (This wasn't your average setup--it was a high-end experience where you can customize the photo strip design, pick your backdrop, and choose from options like GIFs, photo series, and more!) The space itself is open concept, essentially a blank canvas with tons of potential for decor, and perfectly located in the heart of Pacific Beach. The reserved parking lot was a huge bonus, and Jay let us in as early as noon to set up--and even allowed us to store things overnight for next-day pickup. The setup and breakdown team worked fast and efficiently, and they were incredibly friendly and helpful before/after the event. Between the location, pricing, flexibility, and overall vibe, Yard & Sea was the perfect venue for our reunion. It felt like an elevated house party in the best possible way, and we're so glad we found it!

Upon arrival, we were welcomed with little fidget toys as we got out of our car. When we went to our room, there was a little goodie bag for each of them with actual items that they used the entire trip! Aside from the thoughtful touches for the kids, the staff was friendly and I appreciated the spacious room and cleanliness. It was a great location and we all really enjoyed our stay. I was just trying to grab a single mixer, yet it took way longer than expected because there didn't seem to be any clear system for serving people. It also didn't help that most people were ordering canned cocktails--which should have kept things moving--but the line still felt disorganized. On top of that, people were cutting in line without any staff stepping in, which made the wait even more irritating. What really stood out was the lack of water availability upstairs. When I asked about it, the bartender gave a vague explanation about water not being allowed upstairs, which honestly didn't make much sense. I get that there may be policies, but offering bottled water for purchase seems like a simple fix--and that wasn't an option either. Overall, it's a decent spot if you're just looking to grab a drink and hang by the pool, and the vibe itself is nice. That said, I want to stay fair--this is just my experience, and I'm sharing it so others know what to expect. Since it's part of a hotel, it does feel like guests may be prioritized, so if you're not staying there, just be prepared for a potentially slower, less organized experience.

We ordered the ahi tuna and guacamole for our appetizers but the timing for the meal was so off. It was a long wait before the waiter even checked back on us and which is when I asked for a refill on my water and chips. We had order drinks as well. The smoked old fashion was good and the ahi tuna appetizer portion was plentiful. There were some parts of the diced ahi that was a bit chewy. The gaucamole portion was large and it wasn't until I asked another waiter did my refill of water and chips arrive. For entree, we got the scallops with corn cake, a salad and I had the poblano burger. I asked for the burger to be cooked to medium. When the entrees arrived my burger was overcooked with no pink in sight. The flavor of the burger was good but the burger was definitely dry as can be. The corn cake with scallop was interesting it was almost like the corn cake was a croquet that encased a corn salsa. Overall the food was okay but the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter and the end seemed to put up a fake act when the check came. Since we asked for the check it seemed like the waiter was on hyper speed. Overall the view is nice but the food and service did not meet the expectations.
