    OVERALL: This venue was stunningly beautiful, and absolutely added to the perfection of our wedding. They renovated the venue in May 2015, so everything was new, clean and modern. There is literally no other venue in San Diego that is ON THE OCEAN, so we had unbelievable views and a beautiful sunset. This venue was admired by San Diegans and out-of-town guests alike. BUDGET: There is no way we could have found a more beautiful, oceanfront venue for the price we paid here! Because we purchased a food package (vs. doing a la carte), we paid a total of $700 for the ceremony/reception venue. Additionally, there were food packages as low as ~$45 a head. On top of the already low prices, because it is on a naval base, there is no tax! And, if you are active-duty military, you get a 10% discount on food! FOOD: You have to use Admiral Kidd Catering, and unfortunately the food is not the selling point of the venue . In order to taste the food, you can attend one of 4 catering fairs a year. We went expecting a modern catering company with unique food options (like we have seen at many recent weddings), but the options were VERY traditional and frankly, not to our standards (we are foodies). BUT, we loved the view of the venue and were very impressed by the cost, so we didn't let the food bother us too much. We ordered the simplest options we could find (steak/salmon, potatoes and green beans), and we were surprised on our wedding day...the food was well prepared and tastey and guests seemed to enjoy it! SERVICE: Because this is a military venue, do not expect superb service from your catering manager. I had so many questions while I was prepping months before the wedding, and unfortunately, to get anything answered, you really have to attend the catering fair, where the catering managers are available to address your questions. It was nearly impossible to get a hold of our catering manager until we were about a month out from the wedding. She ended up being very sweet when we sat with her to finalize reception details, and she even threw in a few things for free. The day of the wedding, the service was amazing and the staff was very accommodating. SECURITY: Because your guests will be accessing a military base, you have to provide a list of first and last names of all your guests to base security prior to the wedding. Additionally, all of your vendors have to get background checks prior to accessing base. Admiral Kidd Catering DOES NOT help with this, nor do they really have their facts straight about this process (it's the navy! don't expect these departments to talk to each other!). If you have questions, go to the base security office and ask them your questions directly. They are VERY helpful! OTHER: - Get extra bartenders if you have an open bar! We had two bartenders and our lines were so long! Get three if you can afford it! - Our wedding was in summer so the wedding is perfect, but pay for heaters if your wedding is at any other time of year...the venue gets chilly when the sunsets - Weddings are short...5-10pm...they only give 2 hours to set up and make you breakdown IMMEDIATELY after the wedding....I would HIGHLY suggest paying a day-of-coordinator to facilitate all of this so you and your family don't have to worry about a thing on the day of your wedding - Do not go with this venue if you are not prepared to put in the time and effort to nag the catering managers and work with security. It is A TON of work but worth it to have a beautiful, VERY AFFORDABLE, venue!

    I love this place for their Sunday brunch! I don't know why more people don't take advantage of this! For less than $20 you can have an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet that includes a waffle bar, eggs Benedict bar, omelette bar, sundae bar, as well as many delicious breakfast and lunch items to choose from. I filled up my plate with eggs, potatoes, muffins, fruit, and many other items before I ran into Ivan, the chef of the waffle bar. If you are on a diet, steer clear of Ivan! Otherwise, he will give you the best waffle of your life. He put the traditional fruit, butter, and syrup on only to top it off with peach cobbler, ice cream, white chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, and so many other delicious items. I loved it all so much! I'm surprised they did not have to roll me out! Thank you to the very friendly and thoughtful staff who continually refilled my water and fruit drinks and made this one of my new favorite brunch places! Join the military and try this place!

It was exhausting but my experience with Full Moon Bridal exceeded all the other stores. Her store was well stocked and I was on a time crunch since my wedding was just three months away since we decided to do a wedding venue after all. The dresses were well organized as I wanted something simple and elegant. When I went to Full Moon Bridal it was more of a personal experience unlike other stores. You had the whole store to yourself and friends if you chose to bring them. She was so helpful with helping me try on the dresses and I got to pick quite a few to try on versus being limited like other stores. I went to about 4 or 5 stores after hers and I knew the dress I tried on at her store was the one and went back. It was also in my price range! I had it altered with her and the dress fit perfectly and the length was spot on. I highly recommend going to Full Moon Bridal. Yanna is the best and my dress was perfect!!! However, things went down hill towards the end. the closer we got to my wedding , her response time was not the best. I found myself anxious and unsure when I asked for updates. My portal was never updated on the additions I made. Her attention to detail is not what she tries to sell. The day of the wedding came and my bouquet was NOT what I had sent her. It didn't even incorporate my wedding color. My bridesmaids bouquets looked wilted. The men's boutonnières had some ugly ribbon that I asked to be removed. I never decided on that look. Plus after requesting additional ones, they were not added so some of the bridal party did not have boutonnières. The coordination was horrible at the reception. I completely put my money and my wishes in her hands for my most special day only to have to be looking for her half the time. I had to call her at one point cuz she was no where in sight. Even after arriving early after pictures The grand entrance started late. She didn't have my bridal parties names after she had asked for all that info and was provided on her website. She had to write it down the day of for the MC. The late start was due to the band not being able to connect their sound but we had a dj also who was ready so I don't know why the delay even happened tbh. That pushed us back almost an hour. The food was served late. Her food tasting did not match the food the day of the wedding. Although cooked on site I had guests later tell me their food was cold, the beef had too much fat, the waiters were rude. My vendors kept asking me and other guests for food constantly because they were not served! Even after guests had eaten. All the important wedding events like bouquet / garter toss, cake cutting, dollar dance were super late I had little to no guests left I had to constantly tell her I wanted to do them already. Everything that I purchased separately i labeled where it went and what it was for to make it easier for her and placed in a container for her and her team to either do or put out and was explained beforehand. I was told it would get done but it didn't. My table decor was not what I asked for. I had asked for hurricane vase candles and they were not put. So I'm not sure why I paid what I paid for candles ? The ones she put out were from the dollar tree because I've seen them there. I had a backdrop I asked her to put up. It was left in the box and not put up. Then my box was taken. My memory wall was not decorated how I envisioned. The candles I bought were not placed with the pictures it was literally a naked wall w pics smh. My bouquet was given to her at the wedding, after handing it to her and telling her I wanted to preserve it still and her assuring me she would put it in water only to later find out she handed it to an assistant and She ended up taking it to her warehouse and I got it back 4 days after the wedding of course in horrible condition. It couldn't be salvaged anymore. My party favors were never placed on tables even after the sun had gone down. My cake was not cut and passed out. No one got cake!!! I didn't let it ruin my night but I wish I would have read some of the negative comments on here first because her coordination is terrible. Sure her decor is nice but also didn't meet my expectations and what was asked / told would be delivered. I had many guests later reach out to me with negative comments on the coordination part and that they had to actually go look for her as well to try and help out because they didn't want to bother me or my groom during the wedding event. Apparently other guests had requests or concerns and I didn't know until after the wedding. Super embarrassing to hear. Nice girl but shouldn't offer what she can't deliver. Maybe it was too much on her plate and she needs some extra assistance. I suggest she gets more help if she can't do it all. Not worth my money IMO.
