    Prepared with lovely white umbrellas.

I had the privilege of attending two weddings at Lavender & Olive this year; both Petite Productions: essentially economical mini weddings for 10 or fewer people that include DJ, bridal/groom suite, photographers, champagne, first dance, reception and more, all in a storybook setting. When I say storybook setting, I don't mince words. I used to work for a wedding chair cover company, spending considerable time at venues across San Diego County, and I can't say I happened upon anything this dreamy. The setup was exquisite, the people so friendly and clearly personally invested in the couples. The owners have been married for over 40 years and it's clear they extend their love to the couples they host. Music was spot-on, guests were happy. The owners were prepared with sweet umbrellas for all guests, so they rain ended up contributing to an ethereal, whimsical backdrop for a beautiful day. One thing I love, in particular, about this venue is that all couples of all orientations are embraced fully and wholeheartedly. This place is a find: the perfect kickoff to happily ever after.

A couple of classics at the entry way!

Beautiful place for a wedding and clearly one of Ramona's best kept secrets! Great staff and a fantastic vibe!

The most beautiful wedding venue. I got married here this year on September 1st and it was a DREAM! The venue is stunning and such an open space to do whatever you dream to do with it. Carolyn was so helpful through every stage. As well as her husband. The day of everything went smoothly and I couldn't have asked for a better day. I want to do it again!!! I love this venue and would host any event there it was amazing. Here's some photos to show all of the different spots!!!

Let me start by saying that the venue is beautiful and well kept. It appears to have all the elements to host an outdoor event of any kind. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the owner/host. To begin, the venue was booked for the rehearsal the night prior to the event for two hours (3-5). At 4:30 one of the children took out the cornhole to which the owner quickly snapped was not ok due to another party coming at 5. She then proceeded to say that she was hot, overwhelmed and snappy but not by intention. Getting to the day of the event..... the owner was walking around during the first few hours and I personally heard her making comments like "this party seems to not care about timelines" because the party was running late. The venue was reserved until 11 but the owner was sitting on the outskirts of the event at 10 with a trash bag ready to clean up! As a business, write it into your contract that there are strict timelines and any non adherence is a fee but do not stand there trying to push clean up to satisfy your timeline.... Especially at a wedding that was hosted for out of town travelers. Events that need venues like this are fluid events, memories in the making and timelines may get blurred. As an owner, you deserve to be compensated fairly BUT do not stand around an hour before the time ends with a trash bag. It is tacky. The owner was either unwelcoming and lacked emotional intelligence in social settings or racist.... None of which I wish to explore further on with this venue. Rent at your own risk. Plan ahead and get your contract written with fluid movements as memories made in settings like this tend to last a lifetime.

I had my wedding recently at L&O and I just have to say I had the most amazing day! Though we did have a lot of unexpected rain the owner Carolyn stepped up and made sure we had tents and helped rearrange all of our reception area to make sure our day would still go off with a hitch! We had the most amazing time and she is a great host! I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for the best rustic boho experience! Thank you again L&O!

We had our rock 'n' roll wedding at Lavender & Olive in Feb during San Diego's first blizzard warning in history and it was epic! We got to choose our own vendors and had our friend's punk band to play the reception. Our guests and family members continually tell us that our wedding was the best ever. Rain or shine, the show must go on!

An absolutely amazing venue. The owners are so wonderful and made us feel absolutely amazing! I wouldn't have had my wedding at any other location! Thank you so much for making our day so special!

    Welcome sign for guests

This venue is not only a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Ramona, Carolyn is a pleasure to work with to assist with any needs for your event. Property is clean, well maintained, organized and crew is ready to jump in to help make everything run smoothly. I would definitely recommend this venue and hope that I can work there again in the near future! Thank you, Carolyn and Barb for the excellent communication and service you provided for me, my crew and my clients!

My daughter was looking for an outdoor wedding venue and heard about L&O. The first time we went and talked with Carolyn she was so helpful and really helped my daughter with her vision of how she wanted her wedding. Everything was perfect, beautiful and just awesome. They have top notch venders to choose from. I would recommend L&O for any party. I can not say enough about Carolyn. She really made my daughters day.

This is the first time I've ever reviewed anything on Yelp, but I was really compelled to. I will echo that the place is well kept and just overall atheistically pleasing. My rating is solely based on my observation of the host/owner. After the wedding party shifted outside to start the ceremony (around 5pm), the host/owner was walking around, room by room, taking pictures of all of our things, almost as to prematurely say that our group was bound to leave a mess behind and she wanted documented proof. We still had approximately 6 more hours left on our booked time slot. I'm not entirely sure what the customary approach for an owner of a venue is, but it felt like we had an uninvited guest at the wedding the entire evening. I'm tempted to say that the fact that an hour plus prior to the event ending, the host walking around with a trash bag, going table by table, was helpful but it really just felt like she was just trying to rush us out. Maybe everyone else will have a better experience since this is a new venue and the host/owner is just starting out.

    Front entrance, cant miss it

I sat…read moreon this review for far too long because it honestly just made me so incredibly angry and I didn't want to relive the experience. I've also seen how the manager responds to other negative reviews and didn't feel like dealing with the attacks. I had been following Bandy Canyon on Instagram and the experience they promote online nowhere meets the reality. We chose to stay at the Eagle cabin because it had more space for our 2 kids and dog and the other rooms available were much smaller in comparison. The cabin didn't look upgraded online but for $910 for 2 nights, I assumed it had to be nicer than the photos looked. It was actually much, much worse. The website touts upgraded and renovated rooms but the Eagle cabin had clearly not been updated maybe since it had been built. I cannot begin to explain how depressing the cabin felt walking in at night. Floor to ceiling brown shiny walls illuminated by harsh white lightbulbs, no art or decor on the walls, tacky fake plant from the 90s covered in dust, yellow stained and ripped curtains. The floor was ripped and worn. It felt like a prison. The TV was missing the remote so we couldn't even turn on the TV for some added ambiance. It was dead silent. We spent hours turning the place upside down trying to find a remote, my husband was hyperventilating from how suffocating and tacky the room felt with no escape. We almost left as soon as we arrived. I called the front desk over the course of several hours. The front desk couldn't get us a remote that worked and tried calling her manager but couldn't figure out what to do. We hadn't eaten dinner so my husband reluctantly grilled us some food on the sad bbq outside our room in almost complete darkness. It was intended to be a special celebration of our 10-year wedding anniversary and it ended up being a weekend from hell. Did I mention they prohibit you from bringing your own wine? Because they sell wine on site as part of their "winery." However I was told they only had rose when I asked for a red. What is this, a college dorm? I'm going to get in trouble for bringing my own wine to celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary? Didn't find this out until we were packing our bags for the trip and my husband was looking at their website. I somehow managed to convince my husband to stay the night versus driving home immediately. I really wanted to salvage our milestone anniversary trip! I tried using the shower and the pipes screeched loudly, sounding like someone was screaming in your ear the whole time. I sent video to the front desk. The noise was so unbearable that we couldn't even use the shower. The sound echoed through the entire house, making it impossible to ignore. These elements greatly diminished the comfort and ambiance we had anticipated. Furthermore, a major reason for choosing the ranch was the promise of a pool for our toddler to enjoy, especially as it's promoted across the ranch's Instagram. To our dismay, the pool was not heated and was too cold to use, which was very disappointing. Adding to this inconvenience, the pool bar was closed, further limiting our recreational options.    All the ranch workers we interacted with were supportive and apologetic, agreeing that the Eagle cabin was outdated and unfit for guests. They acknowledged that it should not have been rented out in its current condition. They promised us the manager would make it right. I was told she's get in touch with me after the weekend. It took me messaging them for about a solid month for the manager to finally call me, which by that point I had zero interest in talking to her. We paid good money to stay here and it was a complete waste. For 2 nights we spent almost 1k ($910 to be exact). You'd think for that kind of money we'd get a much nicer experience!

I stayed in the cozy Sparrow cottage, which was well-decorated and had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and dishes for two. I loved the rocking chair on the patio for coffee and reading. The pool is cute and relaxing, though unheated, but the hot tub is warm. There's a serene stream with frogs croaking at night, and the property is secluded, with a few nearby wineries to explore. This retreat is ideal for couples or a small group of friends. Cons: The hot water is only lukewarm. The bed had some dirt/sand. My TV didn't work, and the bonfire is only available until 4 pm. The animal sanctuary ($7) requires a reservation, but the front desk told me to just show up. When I did, the staff said same-day reservations weren't allowed--and she was a bit cranky--so I couldn't visit. However, it's small enough to view from outside the fence. TL;DR: This ranch is feels safe, peaceful and promising. Once the restaurant opens and cleaning standards improve, it will be a perfect nature escape.

Everyone is incredibly friendly, professional, and solution-oriented, with an impressive network of resources and vendor connections. From start to finish, it truly felt like the team had our backs on all fronts. Their level of care, organization, and professionalism made the planning process feel far less stressful. The property itself is absolutely stunning -- vast greenery, rolling vineyards, citrus trees, and the most incredible natural scenery. It even smells amazing on site! We were lucky enough to be one of the first couples to host our wedding at the new venue location after originally booking the former space, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. The new venue is breathtaking and perfectly complemented our moody, romantic wedding vision. The new getting-ready suites are beautiful and thoughtfully designed, and having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces so close together was a huge plus for our guests. Even months later, our guests still talk about how magical the Rancho Guejito property is.
