This was the most magical night of our lives! Hazy Meadows is absolutely gorgeous! Words can not explain how much we loved this venue, from the green grass to the fire pit, horseshoes, and oak trees.. the atmosphere was out of a dream! Cassaundra made sure our night was perfect, she really went above and beyond, she made sure we were on time the whole night and took care of any issues that arose. Everyone that came up to us told us that the venue and wedding was the best they had ever been too! I can't think of a single complaint, I just can't wait to renew our vows here one day! I had my wedding here in October of 2010, and it was a beautiful gorgeous wedding. I wanted a "vintage rustic" theme, and the venue was perfect for it. They had no cellphone reception, they were in a valley in Lakeside, and it was just gorgeous, picturesque and so quiet. I loved it. It was exactly what I was looking for. I found them through google, looked on their website, and emailed them in December of 2009 and set up an initial consultation. I set up a meeting with Carrie, myself and my mother-in-law. The place was dreamy and I immediately fell in love with it. I was very clear in letting them know my theme, ideas, etc. They allowed me to take in my own decor and props. Linda was very accommodating. She let me use their "hay ride" wagon in lieu of the horse-drawn wedding carriage that comes with booking the venue. So I was able to have a "hay ride" for the kids at the wedding. They also had a fire pit and they provided the hay bales and mexican blankets for people to sit on. I used their picnic tables and covered them with table cloths and I got away with not renting tables. Our guests had a lovely time and commented on how unique this venue truly was. If I could redo our wedding all over again, I would choose Hazy Meadow Ranch all over again. read more

We were attending a wedding here. And it's a little beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. It's a rancho style and has a little jail, barn, carriage and saloon staged. For the ceremony they have two options: gazebo or huge gorgeous tree. It's fenced with bushes so kids can run around freely while parents enjoy the reception. read more

I wanted to like this so much more because it is actually one of my favorite weddings I have photographed..I understand at some venues that the rules are strict. This place is one of them. Me and a videographer were invited to the rehearsal to see the venue and meet the owner and coordinators. They were super nice and I had a good feeling things were going to go smooth with a considerate kind staff.... Until the day of the wedding. Me and the videographer were treated like we were an inconvenience to them, while we respected their rules and we were still kind. A man that said (he owns the place) yelled at the videographer for not shutting the front door right away and made it clear that this was his home. The ladies that we have met were clearly irritated and treating even people that were a part of the wedding like they were doing something wrong and were treated poorly. They even dumped all of the groomsmen' belongings into the back of the father of the bride's truck without even asking if that was okay. The coordinator and owner were basically my shadow telling me where and how to photograph. I just couldn't find myself to tell them to back off in front of the bride and groom. So i held back and ran with it. The venue itself was "okay" ... Had to venture off outside the gates to get some epic shots, and I did. During dinner I couldn't find myself to eat because of the strong smell of manure. And the random dogs coming to the dinner tables seems to be a liability. There is dirt, mud and pot holes everywhere. Seen a couple of guests fall in them. Honestly, even though I am happy with the photos and how the wedding went, my experience with this venue and staff was very poor. Owners that are going to yell at vendors and bridal parties reminding them that we are using their home, should maybe re-think about using "their home" as a wedding venue. From what I have seen, everyone has kindly respected your home. It just would of been nice if you respected the people that are paying you and being on good terms with the vendors. I will not come back here or recommend this place to my clients. read more

My wedding was perfect....and this venue is just that perfect. This place will be in my heart forever. Let tell you a story. On my wedding day my dress ripped almost completely off my body. Yes before the ceremony even started the whole top layer of my dress got stuck in the tire of the a golf cart and rip....the onsite co ordinator Pam....looked at me and said we got this lets go and the woman literally sewed my dress back together on my body. The train of my dress was shredded completely. She bustled it and hid it. Seriously no one knew the catastrophe my dress really was. Pam saved my day. That's what you get at Hazy Meadow. The venue is heaven and the people WANT your day to be perfect, they do this thousands of times but they know this day Is special because it's YOURS. We had our May 2015 wedding at Hazy Meadow. First off, the grounds are absolutely gorgeous! It rained the morning of our wedding, but by the time the ceremony started it stopped and the grounds look so green and more beautiful than ever. The communication with the owner was tough at times. She's very kind, but doesn't always understand questions. The maim reason this was a 3 star was because of the day of coordinator. We only met her the day before the wedding which was tough to get on the same page so quickly. On the day of the wedding it felt like her and the owner kept trying to tell me and my bridal party what to do. I understand they have a lot of experience, but we paid to have everything we wanted (within reason) and not what they wanted. They were definitely helpful, but at times we didn't feel heard as customers. The biggest issue was the random dog running around the grounds. Overall it was a beautiful day, but there's definitely room for improvement. read more

Linda and her husband (the owners of the venue) truly go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect! Our wedding went perfectly, absolutely no mistakes and definitely much more than we ever imagined. They are personable and make it clear from the beginning that they are there to make you feel comfortable and happy. The venue comes with a day-of coordinator, Pam, who was a huge help and took a lot of pressure off of us as far as making everything runs smoothly. So cannot believe I didn't write a review of this before all the others. Hazy Meadow was the third property we toured in consideration for our wedding. It is a functioning horse ranch (boarding, sports, carriages, the full nine) in the middle of dead cell service country of Lakeside, yet within 15 minutes civilization. The landscape around the property is all natural, California rocky hilly foliage filled views.In communicating with the property for a tour, they were professional, pleasant and answered questions. Upon entering the driveway you pass by another ranch on the left side (two driveways are parallel but separated by a chain link fence), then upon coming onto Hazy Meadow property you'll pass by the horse corrals and stables before hitting the houses driveway (where you see carriages parked out front). We arrived for our tour and were greeted by one of the owners at the main house where they live and where they have the bridal and grooms suite and gardens for photographs set up. Make sure to dodge the peacocks roaming amount and screeching in the trees. Just past that driveway is a storage shed, chickens, the caretakers mobile home, water tour, the sports center with an equestrian pen, and then a dirt lot at the end in front of a hedged grassy area that is the reception.ceremony area. The driveway in all the way to the end where the ceremony takes place, where guests would park their cars, etc isn't terribly attractive. It;s very country so perfect for folks who like that concept....They could dress it up a bit to mask some of the everyday stuff so guests don't immediately get weirded out by it, especially for those who dress for the occasion and might worry if they overdressed. Plus I imagine with some creative landscaping, the smell of the horses on a hot day (the day we went there was no smell, but if it was hotter maybe, we warned about that possibility) might be thwarted with some nice smelling jasmine bushes or something. The chain link fence is also see through and you can see the neighboring properties so if you are worried about your event not being private that would be an issue here. More notes: Nice reception ceremony area. Inexpensive. Country atmosphere. No plumbing or sewer connections so portable restrooms would need to be brought in. Entrance to reception area includes exposed views of mobile home, sports center and storage sheds and property is fenced in by short chain link fence exposed to neighboring properties. Location also has no cell phone or wireless connections as its out in the boondocks. But it does have gorgeous landscape, tons of photo opportunities, carriage and horse are included in the price should you decide to use them, and they are flexible on vendor resources (pending vendor getting a tour of the property) and will accommodate the price to reflect that. The price includes use of wedding areas, carriage and horse, catering and rentals and DJ. Wedding reception area is cleverly designed, all outside, there are western town facades that also have hidden areas with electrical for catering and bar that can be dressed up or toned down in style. There is a tree covered area with a raised cake platform which is a great idea, a fire pit with portable seating and lights in the trees where the dance floor and tables and chairs would go. In front of that there is a large lawn next to a gazebo that can be used for ceremony. The whole area is hedged in, with the exception of a few exposed areas and mostly private. The parking is a dirt lot in front of the wedding area that can have 100 cars and there is a designated smoking area right out front the arbor entrance to the wedding area. This place would work well for day of location only. Overall we liked the place. A bit taste specific, but can be toned down or decorated in a way that muddles the Western theme. Theres a just few practicalities that knock if off the list for us, but if we had a different more easy going guests list and a different type of event, we'd definitely consider this property in the future. It is a fun location. I'd imagine any western themed gala would fit perfectly here, although I'd check and see if non-wedding events are accepted (they seem cool about being flexible as their main concern was just making sure they personally met with vendors and familiarized vendors to the property in advance of the event). read more

I hired them (as a surprise) to carry Angelica and her father Jose right to the beautiful white runner to go down the isle. My daughter booked a wedding in June, 2018, for her wedding and n May, 2019. The owner was very personable and helpful. My daughter was excited about the venue. Less than 90 days before the wedding date, the owner contacted my daughter and said she "had to list the property for sale" and she couldn't guarantee if someone bought the property, they would honor the contracts for the weddings that were already booked. Long story short, the owner made it sound like she had "just" listed the property, but a Zillow search showed the property was listed in October, 2018, but she just got around to telling my daughter less then 3 months before her wedding Fortunately, my daughter found another venue, but with such short notice and this being the wedding season, maybe others might not be as fortunate. Good news is we got our deposit returned but this whole things seems like poor business practice. The venue is still for sale and she is still booking events. If you drive to the place. There are no for sales signs so it seems a little shady because people are booking the venue without having all the facts. read more

I had the most beautiful and exciting wedding at Hazy Meadow Ranch. As many will agree, choosing the wedding venue is one of the most important decisions when planning the celebration. The venue largely influences the whole theme of the party and dictates many of your other vendor choices based on what they allow and what they don't. After everything was said and done, I am beyond grateful for my experience at Hazy Meadow and the staff who helped us through the whole process. The owner, Linda, is a sharp and at times quirky lady with a huge heart for hosting weddings and making this an experience everyone will cherish. She invited us to stop by the Ranch anytime we wanted with whomever we wanted and offered to meet us if need be. As beautiful as the grounds were, it had always been a dream of my Dad's and mine that my wedding be decked out with flowers, especially since my Dad was in the nursery business. When we asked Linda if we could come a month before the wedding and plant some flowers in the flower beds, flowers my dad and I had chosen specifically for the wedding, she welcomed the new additions to her garden! And even offered some of her employees to help. To be able to have that kind of creative influence over the floral design of the landscape was something I knew not every venue would be so open to, and on the day of the wedding, everything looked perfectly in place and made the whole grounds POP with color. Even though the property has a Western motif, we went for a classy, country chic theme and everything blended together beautifully. Linda and her team have weddings down to a science. They have great recommendations for other vendors too. And they will keep you on track when time is of the essence on the Big Day. When you say the wedding starts at 4, they make sure everyone is in place so that the wedding starts at 4, not 4:05. My guests constantly kept coming up to me and complimented how beautiful this place was and how the space made everything feel so fun yet so intimate at the same time. The horse drawn carriage grand entrance certainly made a lasting, exciting impression on everyone. My DJ and photographer who are very familiar with the area were surprised they hadn't worked at this venue before, but now that they have, they know they can look forward to a truly memorable event. Warning: there is no cell service out there. But then again, that adds to the appeal of keeping the focus on the celebration and the interaction of others with those present. read more
