We hosted our wedding here in September, and from the first tour, we knew there was no better setting. The venue itself is stunning- light-filled, elegant, and perfectly positioned overlooking the bay. It offered everything we were looking for aesthetically and logistically. Overall sentiment: This is a gorgeous venue that makes an incredible first impression. However, the experience with the venue's coordination and communication didn't live up to the beauty of the space. If you're detail-oriented or able to stay on top of planning logistics yourself, you can absolutely make it work, but if you're hoping for hands-on, consistent support from the venue team, you may want to budget for extra help. 2) Pros Beautiful location: The ceremony site overlooks the bay between palm trees, truly breathtaking and perfect for photos (though note in Sept the grass was pretty brown/dead- it's maintained by the city of San Diego, not the Point). Gorgeous interior: The reception space is full of natural light, with beautiful wooden tables (no need for linens) and a chandelier draped with greenery and lights, which helped us save on décor and flowers. Flexible vendor policy: We loved that we could choose our own caterer and bring in our own alcohol, this flexibility gave us creative control and helped manage costs. Spacious and well laid out: The venue comfortably fit around 150 guests, with smooth transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. 3) Cons Customer service inconsistencies: Communication often lagged, and we had to double-check details multiple times to make sure nothing was missed. Frequent staff changes: Our main contact kept shifting. Different team members joined calls without being fully briefed, and we occasionally received conflicting information. Day-of coordination issues: We weren't introduced to our "day-of coordinator" until a week before the wedding. She left after our grand entrance and handed us off to someone we'd never met, which felt unprofessional and confusing. The event timeline fell behind, the grand entrance was delayed by about 30 minutes, and no one notified us so we could adjust. From that point on we were late on the whole timeline, and we ended up missing "golden hour" for sunset portraits. I wish she would have approached me at the scheduled time for the grand entrance to check in with me on making it happen. Last-minute changes: Floor plans were delayed several times, and even at the rehearsal, staff were suggesting new tweaks instead of finalizing details earlier. Parking challenges: Guest parking was extremely crowded, and we weren't warned this could be an issue, which led to confusion and delays. No bridal suite/bathrooms: There is no availabiltiy to get ready on site- they don't have a bridal suite and the bathroom is a small one toilet room, or a group of stalls shared by the Mission Bay Acquatic Center- you will have to get ready offsite and then sneak into the venue through the catering entrance in the parking lot. In summary: This is a truly beautiful venue. But the organizational side could use improvement. If you're someone who can stay on top of the details (or hire a planner to help), it's absolutely worth it for the setting. Just be prepared to take the lead on coordination to ensure your day runs smoothly. read more

We used The Point for my daughter's Sweet 16th and couldn't be happier. The venue was perfect for our 55 people guest list. There was plenty of room inside for seating without making the space too tight. The chandelier and fairy lights made the room so pretty at night. The fireworks from Sea World can be seen from The Point which made the night truly spectacular. The staff were friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. We had a couple of issues with uploading our daughter's pictures on the screen and they went in to help create the albums so I can easily add pictures to them. The Taco Bar they helped us catered was so delicious and all the food was devoured. Marni was on-site for our whole event and she was lovely. There was a minor issue with photos not streaming correctly and she fixed the issue right away. My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Point. We had a one hour set up time (4-5pm) before the reception started. Upon arriving, staff was on a call and did not assist or have the floor plan set up for 20-30 minutes (Leaving us only 30-40 minutes to set up a party for 90+ people). We used a bartender that was coordinated for us by The Point. However, the bartender was at least 40 minutes late to our reception (Without an explanation or remedy from The Point). For a 4 hour reception with the first hour being a cocktail hour, this was a very frustrating situation. read more

We are out-of -towners and hosted our destination wedding at The Point in August 2025! In our home city, we had a difficult time finding affordable venues that would allow for outside vendors for food and other necessities. The previous year we traveled to San Diego for the first time for our friend's wedding. As we began assessing costs for our wedding, we realized there were many affordable venues in San Diego. As a venue, The Point at Mission Bay is perfect for a 100-person guestlist. We loved the sustainability aspects of the venue, the ease of being able to move pieces, already included décor, and adding our own décor. We loved meeting with some of the venue's staff at the time, Sophia, throughout the year. We were then passed onto another staff member and then passed onto a third staff member the day-of the wedding. This staff member, Leigh, was such a gift and a huge help that day. With the package we paid for, we were only able to be at the venue for 8 hours total including setup, ceremony, reception, and tear down. They do allow for an hour walk through the night before, but any décor must be setup day-of. We paid for additional trash clean up at the end of the night and an additional hour. Leigh also provided us even more time at the end of the night. There was plenty to clean up, and even with the catering team of four plus the bride, groom, and a few friends, it took a bit more time to clean up at the end of the night. Leigh tried her best, but she is only one woman. Leigh actually thanked us for being so kind and understanding. It's disappointing to think many wedding parties may have not been as understanding to the one-human-show staff. I know August is busy season for weddings, but on top of that, there was an event the morning of our wedding at the venue. We asked if Leigh had been there for the morning event as well. She said she had been there since 9a. I do appreciate the venue giving us as much extra time as they could as far as setting up, complimentary, but this venue should spend less time on meetings with the couples and more time and money on staffing the actual event. Staffing of the event should come with the initial presented package. Depending on the volume of the event and extra décor/ vendors, the owner should staff the event appropriately as a part of the base pay package. We would recommend only paying for the reception package if this venue is your top choice. We believe the ceremony spaces are San Diego city owned, so if you are looking to save money, file for the permit yourself and have your reception at The Point. At the end of the day, we got what we paid for, but we were expecting a little more support day-of. We did enjoy ourselves, and many of our guests came out describing the day as authentic, sincere, sophisticated, but humble. The Point was the PERFECT venue for a welcome event before our wedding! Throughout the planning process, they were so responsive, professional, and on top of things! They were very clear about how to get everything set up on the TVs available beforehand and set up check-in calls at various points to make sure that they had everything set up the way we wanted. The day of, they were super sweet, available for anything we needed and just so easy going. The venue itself easily fit our 130 person guest count for the event. They had plenty of tables and chairs, they had games set up outside and coolers for us for the bar! Would 100% recommend them as a venue for any type of event. We had an amazing experience booking our Micro Wedding (Ceremony & Reception) Package with The Point from the very first e-mail all the way to the very last. When we were first looking for a micro wedding ceremony and reception package, we wanted to have everything as stress-free as possible since we would be planning our own wedding. Such a beautiful venue to have a business meeting, or even a celebration. My wife and I had this place on our list to consider for our baby shower. We ended up choosing another venue but had the opportunity to visit when our friends held their baby shower here. Parking of course is difficult as it's in Mission Bay but once you get past that, you'll be surprised with the place. The natural lighting helps illuminate the main room. There are dividers and a patio area that are available for use. If it gets too hot during the summer, there is also AC available. Lots of room and endless possibilities. The staff was very involved, checking in with us in the leading weeks and months, connecting us with great and affordable vendors (like bartenders and dinner) and helping us coordinate the best use of their resources (like organizing a slideshow on their screens, a photobooth in their patio, and a projection to play movies). Skip the boring hotel conference rooms. The team was responsive and super helpful throughout the process. We had a (somewhat spontaneous) intimate elopement ceremony and reception at The Point and it was amazing! Despite the large crowd of beach goers, we were easily able to have a secluded ceremony with the beach as our backdrop. The crowd never bothered or intervened with our event. We had our reception at the Bay Room/Garden. The venue was able to provide a few decorations for us and it was really beautiful. Even without decorations I feel the interior design and aesthetic of the room & garden is really breath-taking! We only had our parents and siblings celebrating with us, but the space is definitely big enough for large crowds. The Point team members (I mostly spoke with Jenna & Krista) were also really amazing, accommodating, and wonderful to work with. They were very responsive (email, phone, etc.) and were so helpful with planning everything. They also have great connections with local vendors. A nonprofit volunteer run organization held its nationwide convention for its board members at The Point. The point is an indoor/outdoor venue located on mission beach. It shares space with a beach rental company that rents out sups, etc. The venue provided one dedicated person on site at all times which was great. She was good about keeping people out of the venue and redirecting tourists to the right place lol. The only downside was that the rental counter was literally one step to the right of the venue. So there were a lot of tourists blocking the door to the venue, looking in, taking up parking spots (parking was really tight bc we had over 100+ people at the convention). And the bathroom was a shared bathroom / showering area for the rental place, so there was sand on the bathroom floors from the tourists coming back from their beach day, etc But I loved the location! A huge grassy area to chill, throw a frisbee around, play some spike ball etc. and it overlooked the bay which was wonderful. The main area was roomy but super easy to rearrange chairs for groups, etc. the acoustics were really good actually. The speakers didn't need microphones. There was a nice smaller table area that was semi Enclosed behind glass walls which was a nice small group / work station area (food and drinks were set up in there). I especially loved the back patio area. Lots of comfy couches, standing tables, chairs to lounge in. We got a taco truck like thing back there so that was cool lol Overall highly recommend this very professional but uniquely San Diego venue :) read more

The space you say is not yours, is representing themselves as you, and the pictures are of your venue and location. I would of reached out to your events manager but she lost my trust upon lying to us and presenting us with a new contract for a different date we never agreed upon, trying to be slick and dishonest. If you and your business would have been honest and upfront in the beginning, then I would have never had to write this review. I am not the only reviewer on here that experienced the exact same treatment. Not only did our friend call, I called and my partner called and he represents that you are both the same business. Maybe instead of continuing to defend your dishonesty, your tactics would be better used to clear that up with him, not me. Lol! I do not feel as though I am spreading false info, as everything I have stated is true and accurate, and I am not the only reviewer who had the same experience. Again, maybe you need to take it up with those who lie, send a contract with an incorrect date sneakily, tell us the date is free and then do a 180, or Jason and Peerspace who state both are the same business. My events director suggested The Point and we found it to be perfect for our event! The staff was over the top helpful and well connected to food vendors and bar tenders. With close to 100 guests the venue was a perfect size for us. The location is right on the water and while the parking lot did fill up, there was overflow parking. We utilized all of the monitors and Apple TV screens to showcase our event which allowed us to be totally paperless! The pricing was very affordable and our guests loved the space.
