When we did ask for water, the waitress brought us the carafe and immediately walked away even though all of our cups were empty/needed filling - our empty plates stayed on our table for an hour and only got cleaned up when we asked - someone said they would be right back to come wipe the dirty table after they took our plates, and never came back - it was a birthday outing and they did comp our dessert, but it didn't come with a candle or anything. They brought 1 spoon and no sharing plates, even though there were 3 of us. When we asked for extra spoons they brought out packaged plastic utensils ??? - a lot of young and rowdy patrons, just to keep in mind the ambiance Genuinely shocking experience. Please do better!

Leah also followed up with me on certain vendors after our appointment and was always willing to help. The only downside with The Bridal Bar is that they only recommend vendors that pay them to advertise their services. Since they are in La Jolla, a number of the vendors are on the pricier side. There's no expense to you to use their services though, so I definitely recommend them to anyone planning their wedding in San Diego.

Their sign about picking up a bucket of trash and getting a free coffee honestly blew my mind. Even little details like having real small towels in the bathroom instead of paper towels show how intentional they are about being eco-friendly. The coffee is also amazing! They have in-house flavors (always a plus), and I got the banana bread latte half sweet. It was so good and perfectly balanced. The setup is unique - it's more of a coffee kiosk attached to a surf shop, with a cute outdoor deck/backyard-style seating area behind it. When I went, most people were grabbing drinks to go, but there are benches where you can hang out and wait. There was a small line, but honestly it makes sense. The fact that I never noticed this place kinda freaked me out really. Fast forward nearly 5 years.... I needed a space to host a Animal House Style Toga Party to celebrate my birthday. I didn't want to have the party at my house because neighbors, loud music and free flowing booze don't mix well together. While walking back home after having coffee with my husband and lamenting the cost of renting a space for my party, we passed the Masonic Lodge Hall and he said, 'why don't you have the party here'. HUH? Where? Here??? What IS this place? The Lodge looks kinda scary from the outside. Actually it looks sort of scary inside too, but it fit with the Toga theme of my party perfectly. It's just very dated inside with light blue paint, white columns on the walls and a hokey painted mural. Sold! The men at the Lodge were so kind to us, they gave us the hall early on the day of the party so we could decorate which really helped liven the place up a bit. All of my friends thought we were so clever to have found the Masonic Lodge and rented it for the party...most of them have lived in LJ for many many years and still never even knew it was there. The whole evening was a smashing success and the Hall rental only cost about $165 including use of the kitchen, tables & chairs. You can't be that with a Fez!

I fit about 12 succulents into my box and it looks beautiful. She also provides colored moss, stones, even ideas. I feel like it's a pretty good bang for your buck, considering that your arrangement is pretty much however many plants you can stuff into your box. Tip: If you want your succulents to pop out, fill your box to the top with dry dirt before arranging your plants on top. I left about an inch of space and my succulents are sunken kind of low into the box.

The people at the front desk were young, fun, outgoing, really friendly and I appreciated that. They told me about some happy hour they were having later in the day and I felt very welcome here unlike other hotels I stayed at in the San Diego area. The bathroom was huge in my room, very weird vibe, like felt cabin-like, I don't know how else to explain it, but it was spacious, big countertop by the sink plenty of room to get ready. The coffee bar had an enormous countertop which was great for keeping all of my things, huge mirrors everywhere too. The bed was really comfortable, again great view outside, awesome staff. It was so nice to be able to walk the boardwalk and pop back in here whenever I needed to grab something or use the restroom. Walking distance to everything. Highly recommend, I would definitely stay here again. But I probably won't because the cost is INSANE. Sorry but it is. Also housekeeping found my jewelry box loaded with jewelry and returned it to the front desk who subsequently shipped it back to my house for me.
