So the second time around, I would have to say this was a much better experience. I did go during lunch and not dinner. Our server David was super attentive and welcoming. He kept checking in on our food and we did hit a hiccup which was we put in the order for the kids first, but it didn't come till much after our adult entrées came so again I would say the consistency still need some growth but overall it was much better than my last time. You can see the picture where our food wise and we waited for about 12 minutes until the kids food came. I will give the extra Star because of David and the service that he provided checking in on us refilling our water. He was very attentive and very kind This time we did try some new dishes like the mahi tacos, which were good, but the fish was a little tough. The trout plate which was cooked actually very well and my kids both got hamburgers. Again, beautiful scenery and the food was overall good for some reason we had a hiccup again. Nothing can be perfect but again I will say that service was great. The view was amazing as usual and glad to revisit.

Delicious food, great view, and wonderful hospitality! On our last evening in San Diego, we went to Coasterra to wrap up our vacation there. This restaurant came highly recommended by major Visit San Diego websites, and we felt we should give it a try. Located right next to the water, the restaurant offers expansive view of the harbor and the San Diego skyline. Sitting is about 50/50 indoor vs. outdoor, and we chose the indoor sitting as it tended to get colder in the evening. Parking is available out front, but we took Lyft there. We came in around Happy Hour, and we were able to score two appetizers for $11 each. We got fried calamari and fish cervice as appetizers. For entree, we had the fish tacos and scallops. Both of the appetizers were excellent, and the cervice was so light and flavorful. My husband loved his scallop entree, and the taste and presentation were original and outstanding. My fish taco was enjoyable as well. For dessert, we had fresh churro that was paired with ice cream, which was excellent as well. Our meal came to $143 with taxes, which was a very good value with the quality and services offered. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, which made us felt right at home. As for the ambiance, it felt modern and relaxed. There were diverse customers from locals, tourists, and business people. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and we will return.

Made reservations on open table but the space is so big there were still lots of vacancies when we went for a Saturday lunch. Ordered the crispy calamari, ceviche trio, and ahi tuna tostada. Enjoyed the different flavors of ceviche and was a fan of the super crispiness of calamari. My fav was the ahi tuna tostada. Super dressed up and had a good mix of crunchy, tart, salty, and mildly spicy. The restaurant has a great view of the ocean especially if you sit outside. Our waiter was very friendly and our food came out in a timely manner.

This is one of our favorite spots for food. Not only are their drinks good Deb's Coconut Margaritas delicious but so is their food. I love their chips & salsa which are complimentary. On this day we had the Surf & Turf Quesadilla, Potato & Poblano Flautas & Birria tacos. . Everything was equally good. My favorite is the Birria tacos. The staff is always on point. If you haven't stopped by, you're missing out because you have the Bonus San Diego view which is amazing and a plus for out of town guests who come to visit. I do recommend a reservation. They're always busy. Parking is ample, however after 4:00pm they charge to park.

This is one of the places where you are going for the view. The food is decent but nothing to rave about although all three of us raved over dessert. We ordered the butter cake and the churros, amazing! The social hour food is pretty mid but reasonably priced for SD. Now for the bad parts-we went on Friday and it's super cheap and cringe that they only have valet open... When people are going there already for dinner to spend $. I politely asked the hostesses if they validated the tickets for valet to which she replied 'it's just them out there." to which i replied "i'm sorry what does that mean?" just for the other hostess to snap and say "we don't validate." it was really rudely said so i walked away. You can't beat the view and dessert though

The food was delicious and plentiful, everyone at the table had leftovers to take home. We had scallops, chicken & steak and shrimp fajitas, delicious. We splurged for the table made guacamole and that not only was super cool (my 1st time), but also delicious. BUT...the best part of the experience was Calvin, our server. I am 57 & he was the best sever I have ever had in my life. His vibrant personality, attention to detail & knowledge was so joyous, he really made the experience. The whole staff was great & really accommodating for my disabled Mom-in-law. Great night, views, pricy of course and great special dinner. Highly recommend. 10 out of 10 .

We had a reservation, they were welcoming and sat us right away. Our server Soni was excellent. She was well versed on the menu. Kind and attentive, she was able to resolve a minor issue professionally and to our satisfaction. Even the gentlemen that were running the table side guacamole were friendly and polite while pushing the cart in between tables without distracting us from our dinner. The food was excellent. It was a gorgeous evening, the lighting and mood was perfect. Sat by the fireplace, we really enjoyed ourselves and the service. Thanks Soni. Oh, and I think I saw the manager helping with guests as well as I recall a gentlemen dressed very nicely helping set our table with cutlery. I think it's fun how the bartenders showcase their own drinks in a little friendly competition. That added a fun element to the evening. Parking was easy to find as well.

Coasterra in San Diego is such a vibe!! The views alone are worth the visit ..especially around sunset. We sat at the bar for a bit and the bartender was so attentive! genuinely friendly, and every drink he made was spot on. We decided to start with an appetizer at the bar We ordered the fish ceviche, which was sooo goood and super fresh and full of flavor. And they do not hold back on the tortilla chips... seriously, it's a whole boatload!! When our main entrées came out, I was a little surprised. My dish ended up being smaller than I expected, and it came with white rice (I had swapped the beans for mushrooms). It felt a bit under-seasoned, and I did have to ask for salt and pepper to bring it to life. On the other hand, my boyfriend ordered the Wagyu hamburger and said it was amazing!! the overall experience was still great. The service was warm and thoughtful they even left a sweet birthday note on our table, which I loved. And the birthday dessert? So good. The cake was fluffy, clearly made in-house, and the perfect way to end the night. Between the beautiful views, great drinks, and thoughtful touches, I'd definitely come back. Next time, I'm trying a different entreeee

Underseasoned and underwhelming This place has all the makings of a perfect evening. The comments do NOT reflect my server, as he was really good So I ventured here from Torrey Pines in the middle of rush hour (clearly a non-resident rookie mistake). The atmosphere is beautiful, nestled on the water, and downtown, you could not ask for a better view. The chips and salsa were good. I wish they had refilled my salsa. The appetizer: This was a total miss. I usually can eat it, but the lack of flavor and depth was disappointing. The main entrée was painful. The chicken was so dry and under-seasoned that it was hard to eat. I had to get extra sauce, which was more oily than expected. The lemon added good acidity to the chicken, but they should use thighs if they are cooking it for that long. I will say the skin was nice and crispy, and the food was actually hot. The espresso martini was a bit underwhelming since it tasted like cold brew, but again, it wasn't terrible, and it didn't blow me away. The churros were AMAZING!!!!!! If you get nothing here but this, you'd be happy. Those were soft, crunchy, perfectly sweet, with perfect accompaniment.

What a Beautiful spot to enjoy lunch after arriving in San Diego. Stopped here right after flying in as I was starving and we were ready to start our vacation. We enjoyed some cocktails and share some appetizers and a salad. The corn pudding was a little dry but had good flavor I'm just used to it being much more moist like a pudding vs a corn bread. The guac was delicious although I could use more heat and cilantro but that's a personal preference. The salad was excellent the shrimp was cooked perfectly and all the flavors worked well together. Our server was fantastic super sweet brought everything out within perfect time of each other so we didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy the nice afternoon. Would definitely come back and try a meal next time.

A solid pick good for groups and has a beautiful views of the bay. I really enjoyed the Paella and ceviche trio. The Paella was made pretty well and great for sharing. The Ceviche was really nicely done too with a good citrusy profile and a good amount of meat. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff was really friendly. It can be a little bit of a wait with how busy it is but overall would come back!

Request for seating outside! The views is beautiful! Chips and salsa was good Frida Rita w/Tajin rim was refreshing We got the table side guac which was smooth and tasty We also got the ceviche. It was delicious and not too citrusy as some others can be. Service was a bit slow, but I believe it's because our waiter was giving us time to enjoy our appetizers before ordering. My husband wanted to try the short rib enchiladas, as he saw it on a yelp post, but when we inquired with our waiter he said it hasn't been on the menu for the past 4 years which I found strange, that someone just posted about it a month ago..... I order the mahi taco that came with rice and beans. The rice tasted way better than it looked. It was very flavorful! The beans also had great flavor too. The fish was nicely battered and fried with pico de gallo in a flour tortilla. My husband got the seafood enchiladas that also came with rice and beans. He said it was really good as he ate everything on his plate. All-in-all, this was a great restaurant with great food and service. I'd definitely come back and definitely recommend checking this place out.

Awesome view of the bay, perfect ambiance. Girls night out, we had cocktails and appetizers but by the time we got most of our food we were all stuffed from eating chips and table side guacamole!!! Service is okay and food was okay but nothing will beat the view of the bay!

Do I need to make a reservation in advance to get a table on the terrace with a bay view, especially in the evening?

The venue itself is stunning- light-filled, elegant, and perfectly positioned overlooking the bay. It offered everything we were looking for aesthetically and logistically. Overall sentiment: This is a gorgeous venue that makes an incredible first impression. However, the experience with the venue's coordination and communication didn't live up to the beauty of the space. If you're detail-oriented or able to stay on top of planning logistics yourself, you can absolutely make it work, but if you're hoping for hands-on, consistent support from the venue team, you may want to budget for extra help. 2) Pros Beautiful location: The ceremony site overlooks the bay between palm trees, truly breathtaking and perfect for photos (though note in Sept the grass was pretty brown/dead- it's maintained by the city of San Diego, not the Point). Gorgeous interior: The reception space is full of natural light, with beautiful wooden tables (no need for linens) and a chandelier draped with greenery and lights, which helped us save on décor and flowers. Flexible vendor policy: We loved that we could choose our own caterer and bring in our own alcohol, this flexibility gave us creative control and helped manage costs. Spacious and well laid out: The venue comfortably fit around 150 guests, with smooth transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. 3) Cons Customer service inconsistencies: Communication often lagged, and we had to double-check details multiple times to make sure nothing was missed. Frequent staff changes: Our main contact kept shifting. Different team members joined calls without being fully briefed, and we occasionally received conflicting information. Day-of coordination issues: We weren't introduced to our "day-of coordinator" until a week before the wedding. She left after our grand entrance and handed us off to someone we'd never met, which felt unprofessional and confusing. The event timeline fell behind, the grand entrance was delayed by about 30 minutes, and no one notified us so we could adjust. From that point on we were late on the whole timeline, and we ended up missing "golden hour" for sunset portraits. I wish she would have approached me at the scheduled time for the grand entrance to check in with me on making it happen. Last-minute changes: Floor plans were delayed several times, and even at the rehearsal, staff were suggesting new tweaks instead of finalizing details earlier. Parking challenges: Guest parking was extremely crowded, and we weren't warned this could be an issue, which led to confusion and delays. No bridal suite/bathrooms: There is no availabiltiy to get ready on site- they don't have a bridal suite and the bathroom is a small one toilet room, or a group of stalls shared by the Mission Bay Acquatic Center- you will have to get ready offsite and then sneak into the venue through the catering entrance in the parking lot. In summary: This is a truly beautiful venue. But the organizational side could use improvement. If you're someone who can stay on top of the details (or hire a planner to help), it's absolutely worth it for the setting. Just be prepared to take the lead on coordination to ensure your day runs smoothly.

He was incredibly responsive throughout the process and remained highly engaged in discussing our plans. =PROS= *Extensive decor included. The package came with beautiful florals and centerpieces, and we were able to view a sample table set up that felt simple yet elegant *Food was included and notably served plated, which is typically an expensive upgrade at many other venues *Clean bathrooms with multiple stalls, which was surprisingly uncommon after touring so many venues *DJ and wedding planner services were already included *Photobooth upgrade was offered at a very reasonable price =CONS= *Very limited parking. We were grateful valet service was included for our larger guest count, but I would strongly recommend this upgrade if not already part of the package *No groom suite. There was a small bridal suite available, though it would feel cramped for anyone beyond just the bride *Limited greenery surrounding the ceremony area. Aside from some shrubbery, there was very little natural scenery and noticeable street noise nearby The pricing was extremely competitive and this likely would have been our choice had I not personally prioritized a venue with more natural surroundings. From both a financial and planning standpoint, this option removed a lot of the usual wedding stress because of how many services were already bundled together. On top of that, Oscar and his team stood out for being exceptionally organized and efficient during both the tour and quoting process.

I was not disappointed in their service as they were attentive and met all of my requests. They also made a few accommodations for my guests with allergies and for those who were vegan. As for the venue, it was absolutely beautiful, inside and out! Don't waste your money choosing a venue that is a blank slate. If you do, you'll be spending more than $60K. If you want something affordable, all-inclusive(food, flowers, DJ, photobooth, centerpieces) and luxurious, this is the venue! Thank you Carlo, Oscar, and Michelle!
