With our tight work schedules and living 2 hrs away from San Diego, it was like planning a destination wedding. But Gisele's vendor recommendations were on point and everyone worked incredibly well together. As a detail oriented person, I stressed the small details. Gisele did a great job reassuring me and also suggesting great, fun and creative ideas to produce the wedding of our dreams. Everyone delivered more than they promised. When looking for a planner I wanted someone who was responsive, creative, but also maintained our privacy. Gisele went above and beyond anything we expected. She's a great communicator, and immediately responsive to emails / phone calls. She spent hours of her personal time to make sure everything came out exactly how we wanted it, even the night before our wedding. If we said we didn't like something she never took it personal, and helped us find exactly what we wanted. The other nice thing is that if you're on a budget, Gisele would take it upon herself to pass along any professional discount to the bride and groom, which saved us thousands of dollars! Not to mention, she protected our privacy throughout the whole process. I had a lot of surprises in mind that we didn't want to reveal before the wedding. She worked great with the hotel staff and all the guests complemented how professional her team was. On the day of the wedding, we knew we were in great hands. The timeline worked like clockwork, and as the bride and groom, we did not feel a single hiccup! it was timely and perfect. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond to make sure our wedding flowers were absolutely perfect, she was jsut the freaking best! I knowww that I was VERY particular about my wedding bouquet! I was so anxious, I flipped back and forth a million times in an email thread and she was an absolute ANGEL throughout the entire process. She spent so much time on the phone with me, sent multiple photos, talked through different options, and reassured me over and over again whenever I started second-guessing my decisions. Not once did she make me feel like I was being difficult or asking too much. Instead, she was patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure I loved the final result. That level just meant so much to me, during all the stress! Something else I really appreciated was her HONESTY and TRANSPARENCY. She was upfront about which flowers she could realistically source from growers and which ones might not be available. Rather than making promises she couldn't guarantee, she communicated clearly and helped me understand my options. I trusted her completely because of that! And the PRICING!! Before finding her, I had received a quote from another florist that was nearly DOUBLE what she charged for comparable arrangements. Idk it just feels like weddings can sometimes come with inflated prices just because the word "wedding". Finding someone who offered such beautiful work at a genuinely reasonable price who never made me feel pressured or taken advantage of - like these are the kinds of people who deserve thriving businesses! The quality of her work was absolutely outstanding, and she knew SO much about flowers, the shape, the colors, the seasons, which ones would wilt too quickly in the heat etc. Pickup was unbelievably easy, and our flowers were beautifully prepared and ready to go the moment we arrived. My bouquet was everything I had hoped for and MORE! She also created the most beautiful ground floral arrangement for our ceremony. More than anything though, the QUALITY and LONGEVITY of these flowers!! They stayed beautiful for DAYS after our wedding. In fact, FIVE DAYS LATER, they were still in such wonderful condition that I was able to bring some of them to my grandmother's grave, which was incredibly meaningful to me. I also contacted a professional flower preservation company about having my wedding flowers preserved, and after inspection they confirmed that the flowers were still in good enough condition to work with! FIVE DAYS after our wedding!! I mean, c'mon! Melissa was someone who listened, reassured me, respected our budget, and helped us bring magic to life and the floral quality was top tier - it was so special they lasted long enough to honor my grandmother's death anniversary. Leah helped me a lot in having me rank the different wedding related items to see what was important to me. Leah also followed up with me on certain vendors after our appointment and was always willing to help. The only downside with The Bridal Bar is that they only recommend vendors that pay them to advertise their services. Since they are in La Jolla, a number of the vendors are on the pricier side. There's no expense to you to use their services though, so I definitely recommend them to anyone planning their wedding in San Diego.

You can decorate the space however you want so it's very customizable. They also allow any outside vendors for food and drink which is a plus because I know some venues make you work their list of food vendors only. I found the staff very easy to work with. We communicated via email the weeks before our party and they answered any questions I had promptly. The only con I had this place was the parking situation. I toured this place in the late afternoon after work when things were nice and quiet, so I didn't think the parking was bad at that time. But on weekends at around noon, it gets really crazy. Factor in the weekend crowd and if there are any other events taking place in the area, it is a nightmare. Some of my family members weren't able to attend my event bc they spent 40+ minutes driving around. I would definitely recommend getting there early or ride sharing, or maybe hosting your event later in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. It was also pretty warm. They do have air conditioning, but since it's an indoor/outdoor space, it's hard to keep the cold air in. It's not the venue's fault for the hot and humid weather we have been experiencing though. Just something to be aware of. Overall, my party turned out great. I would recommend, but just really assess the parking situation.
