I will be honest and it was or maybe still as the transition from SunPower to SunStrong has not been the smoothest. This transition left those of us with contracts in limbo waiting to find out who does our servicing which in the end went to Sunspear Energy. It took quite a while BUT in the end the work performed was done professionally and well. Much thanks to Zack for taking care of the initial request and getting the panels up to par. Many mahalos to Issac, Issac Jr and Isaiah for the care they took in removing and then reinstalling our panels for roof work. I can't speak for the companies BUT these guys ...Zack, Issac, Issac JR and Isaiah deserve this shout out. It was a pleasure and we were very happy with their work and professionalism. Thank you.

( two houses on one lot ) ( 440-442 ) Therefore Enphase would not honor the warranty. They said the micro-inverters had been moved ! Ms. Reed was extremely rude and unprofessional. Rather than trying to help, she ( relied ) on the fact that the same DBA was dissolved in 2017 following the death of her brother. Poor customer service................. Would not suggest using this company

Since Eco Solar installed our Tesla Powerwall and solar panels, I genuinely don't know when it happens. No flicker, no beeping, no hunting for flashlights, the Powerwall takes over instantly and the house just keeps going. More than once I've found out we were in an outage from a neighbor texting me. The lights never even blinked. We shopped around and got quotes from several companies before committing. Eco Solar came in with the best pricing, and by a pretty good amount. What I appreciated just as much is that the number didn't move, it was a single advertised price, and that same number went directly to the credit union that helped me with financing. Michael French is who we worked with, and he's the reason I'd send anyone here. He walked us through system sizing and the Powerwall without any pressure, answered questions I'm sure he's fielded a thousand times, and was honest about what did and didn't make sense for our roof and our actual usage. He stayed reachable after the install too, which in my experience is exactly where a lot of companies go quiet. The install by the team happened in a single day, and all the permitting and paperwork was taken care of by the office staff, I barely had to do anything myself aside from the finance setup. The install is super clean and my neighbors have come by and asked who we used since it looks so professional. If you're a fellow Hawaii Kai resident and tired of the outages, or just tired of what you're paying HECO every month, ask for Michael. Can't recommend them enough.

As luck would have it, my previous updated review of Ecosolar would not be my last…read more After converting my system from running off of Sunpower/Enphase's microinverters to Tesla's inverter from my new Powerwall Plus, I had some worry about what might happen with a single point of failure. Midway through summer, I found that out when my entire system went down when it failed. I reached out to Chris from Ecosolar right away and let him know that I was having a problem and he started troubleshooting immediately. After some investigation it was determined that the inverter had to be replaced and after waiting for Tesla to ship out the part, it was replaced in a timely manner. I was back up and running again, until December when my system started acting up again, this time seemingly having a problem with one of the batteries. I contacted Chris again and let him know that I was having a problem again, and although communication was rough with the end of the year approaching and federal tax credits expiring, I had a service appointment scheduled for the first week of January. On their site visit, it was determined that my new Powerwall Plus itself had gone bad. They were able to start the RMA process with Tesla and told me it would be replaced, possibly with a new Powerwall 3, because the Powerwall 2 was end-of-life and not in production anymore. That meant they would also have to replace my original Powerwall 2 as well with a new Powerwall 3 expansion pack. They hoped optimistically that I wouldn't have to wait too long for the replacement. Fast forward to April and it did take longer than expected for Tesla to send them the replacements but the good news was that Tesla did indeed replace both of my Powerwall 2 units with a new Powerwall 3 and expansion. This did require much more work on the part of Ecosolar to retrofit than just unplugging the old setup and swapping in the new one, for my particular case, and I appreciate the extra lengths they had to go through versus just having to swap out the old if Tesla had just sent a Powerwall Plus replacement instead. I had been down for a few months but the upside is that I have a brand new set of batteries now in 2026. I would say my solar journey has been rougher than I expected it to be. Parts have failed. Parts have been replaced under warranty. Yes, I've experienced periods of time where my PV system has been offline due to failures, and had to deal with big HECO bills until those failures were resolved. I've had two Powerwalls replaced under warranty in the last 7 years (technically 3 since they swapped my still working Powerwall 2 with a new expansion pack), and an inverter. I had problems with weird glitches with power that kept tripping the Powerwall into thinking that I was experiencing a power outage, that Ecosolar's technician helped to diagnose and find out was actually a problem with HECO's underground service feed into my home (which was another years long adventure with HECO altogether). Sunpower's PV control system got booted offline and needed to be reset remotely. Each time I've had a problem I've contacted Ecosolar and each time they've addressed it to the best of their ability. Yes sometimes it takes time to get things resolved, and it can be hard to be patient. Tesla seems to take awhile to get things sent here but they have always come through thus far too. My additional cost for all of their warranty work and service over all this time has been ZERO. Every single problem I've ever had has been addressed. It's great if you can invest in something like this and never have a problem, but I understand that things happen when you're dealing with new technology, and it sucks but sh*t happens. But when you do invest in something as expensive as solar, it's good to know that I've invested with a company that takes care of it's customers.

They explained every step of the way and any time they ran into any difficulties from the previous installers they informed me of them and already had multiple solutions. They didn't rush through the job at all and repaired things around the window on their own so that the rest of the area around the window looked just as new as the windows. Then, since the problem was a seal on the door, asked me if I simply wanted him to remove the seal to stop the sound, and gave me the pros and cons of doing so. I said yes and he removed the seal and put things back together. He gave me some tips on what to use to lubricate the door, as well as--if I ever wanted to replace the door--what I should look for and how to save money. Nick was knowledgeable, personable and effective in solving my problem. I highly recommend Oahu Windows and Doors.

When the day came for the roof replacement, the crew had great energy in spite of the insane heat. Mahalo to Solar Tech for navigating our path to what we hope is a great solar future. Our first stop was with Julian, who listened very carefully to our wishes and hurdles, and developed a plan, then revised the plan when reality got in the way and then revised once more in order to maximize our ability to get the project done on schedule. Along the way, he was patient and thorough, always explaining all options, and the pros and cons of each. It's worth noting that Julian's participation didn't end with the sale...he was always available for explanations and to sometimes advocate for us with the ops process. Kudos also to Brandi for her guidance through the contracting process...and to Jelly for insurance that the installation would get done. Both of those ladies had to endure endless calls from us and always handled them graciously. Finally, a huge thank you to the installation team, who had to endure the elements on what was likely the most inclement day of the year, but still got the job done professionally and politely. Solar tech is a reasonable company you can trust for a fair evaluation and excellent service For the past six months my electric bill went from $18 to over $100. I thought it was dirty panels but my sister mentioned I should have this company look at my whole system and get an estimate. I am glad I did. Anthony came to look and give me an estimate. Being a senior and not very tech, Anthony explained very patiently what was happening to my system. I was only using 8 panels because I had a short that stopped my 14 other panels from producing. He had pictures on his notepad that showed the short. One of 2 of my circuits were tripped as a consequence. My receiver of solar had to also be repositioned which Anthony easily did. Of coarse I was not following my panels on the solar program so Anthony had to get me set up with new password and walk me through the steps to retrieve information. The planning of the system was excellent. Julian was very knowledgeable in his explanation of all the different options of panels, batteries, and inverters as well as after installation questions. He was timely in getting back to me and helpful with my many questions. He was also able to get me better pricing compared to other quotes that I received. There was a longer time that I had to wait from planning to installation. I was told that my system would be up within 5 but it took almost 8 for my system to be put on and running. I did have to be proactive and inquire about dates and move the process along. The installers were very professional and efficient. They were able to put my entire system, it being a smaller system, by lunch time. Overall going through solar tech was a very good experience and I am very happy with Solar Tech and would recommend them. read more

SolarTech removed our old PV system of 18 panels (2005) which was not functioning up to par, and replaced it with their Endphase system of 10 panels at the start of January 2019. After that, our electric bill went from $160 - $175/mo to $28.35/mo! (it's actually $26.35/mo but there's $2 added for Sun Power for the Schools). My daughter moved in and has an EV which she charges ea. night, so I thought our bill would go up abit, but it hasn't. Our existing NEMS agreement w/ HECO is still intact. The system is monitored by computers at SolarTech and they can tell if any panel is not working and fix that specific panel, without the whole system being affected. We're very happy with our PV system and highly recommend SolarTech Industries! read more

After comparing 5 different companies, we ended up having our solar PV system installed at the end of 2020 by Solartech. Mike and Karli were both very easy to work with, very accessible for questions by email, text, and phone call. The process went smoothly from start to finish -- they sat down with us to personalize our system to fit our needs, worked within our budget, and they worked around our busy schedules to get the installation done without too much inconvenience. Their installation crewmembers were professional and friendly, complying with COVID mask wearing safety precautions. Rory has been a solid salesperson looking out for us and making sure we were on schedule. Their office always called to confirm install dates, changes and also double checked via email. Finally, Jordan Bush as the crew chief was very good in doing the initial inspection and letting me know the next steps that would be involved. Their crew was prompt and let me know when they would be at our home to start. Always good to have confidence in the company for such a big investment. Jordan did the final hookup and left us with a great feeling we had installed something valuable. I recommend Island Pacific Energy to all who are looking for a solid local company that stands apart from the others that don't return calls, don't communicate well, don't follow up and make promises that aren't fulfilled.

Since Eco Solar installed our Tesla Powerwall and solar panels, I genuinely don't know when it happens. No flicker, no beeping, no hunting for flashlights, the Powerwall takes over instantly and the house just keeps going. More than once I've found out we were in an outage from a neighbor texting me. The lights never even blinked. We shopped around and got quotes from several companies before committing. Eco Solar came in with the best pricing, and by a pretty good amount. What I appreciated just as much is that the number didn't move, it was a single advertised price, and that same number went directly to the credit union that helped me with financing. Michael French is who we worked with, and he's the reason I'd send anyone here. He walked us through system sizing and the Powerwall without any pressure, answered questions I'm sure he's fielded a thousand times, and was honest about what did and didn't make sense for our roof and our actual usage. He stayed reachable after the install too, which in my experience is exactly where a lot of companies go quiet. The install by the team happened in a single day, and all the permitting and paperwork was taken care of by the office staff, I barely had to do anything myself aside from the finance setup. The install is super clean and my neighbors have come by and asked who we used since it looks so professional. If you're a fellow Hawaii Kai resident and tired of the outages, or just tired of what you're paying HECO every month, ask for Michael. Can't recommend them enough.

As luck would have it, my previous updated review of Ecosolar would not be my last…read more After converting my system from running off of Sunpower/Enphase's microinverters to Tesla's inverter from my new Powerwall Plus, I had some worry about what might happen with a single point of failure. Midway through summer, I found that out when my entire system went down when it failed. I reached out to Chris from Ecosolar right away and let him know that I was having a problem and he started troubleshooting immediately. After some investigation it was determined that the inverter had to be replaced and after waiting for Tesla to ship out the part, it was replaced in a timely manner. I was back up and running again, until December when my system started acting up again, this time seemingly having a problem with one of the batteries. I contacted Chris again and let him know that I was having a problem again, and although communication was rough with the end of the year approaching and federal tax credits expiring, I had a service appointment scheduled for the first week of January. On their site visit, it was determined that my new Powerwall Plus itself had gone bad. They were able to start the RMA process with Tesla and told me it would be replaced, possibly with a new Powerwall 3, because the Powerwall 2 was end-of-life and not in production anymore. That meant they would also have to replace my original Powerwall 2 as well with a new Powerwall 3 expansion pack. They hoped optimistically that I wouldn't have to wait too long for the replacement. Fast forward to April and it did take longer than expected for Tesla to send them the replacements but the good news was that Tesla did indeed replace both of my Powerwall 2 units with a new Powerwall 3 and expansion. This did require much more work on the part of Ecosolar to retrofit than just unplugging the old setup and swapping in the new one, for my particular case, and I appreciate the extra lengths they had to go through versus just having to swap out the old if Tesla had just sent a Powerwall Plus replacement instead. I had been down for a few months but the upside is that I have a brand new set of batteries now in 2026. I would say my solar journey has been rougher than I expected it to be. Parts have failed. Parts have been replaced under warranty. Yes, I've experienced periods of time where my PV system has been offline due to failures, and had to deal with big HECO bills until those failures were resolved. I've had two Powerwalls replaced under warranty in the last 7 years (technically 3 since they swapped my still working Powerwall 2 with a new expansion pack), and an inverter. I had problems with weird glitches with power that kept tripping the Powerwall into thinking that I was experiencing a power outage, that Ecosolar's technician helped to diagnose and find out was actually a problem with HECO's underground service feed into my home (which was another years long adventure with HECO altogether). Sunpower's PV control system got booted offline and needed to be reset remotely. Each time I've had a problem I've contacted Ecosolar and each time they've addressed it to the best of their ability. Yes sometimes it takes time to get things resolved, and it can be hard to be patient. Tesla seems to take awhile to get things sent here but they have always come through thus far too. My additional cost for all of their warranty work and service over all this time has been ZERO. Every single problem I've ever had has been addressed. It's great if you can invest in something like this and never have a problem, but I understand that things happen when you're dealing with new technology, and it sucks but sh*t happens. But when you do invest in something as expensive as solar, it's good to know that I've invested with a company that takes care of it's customers.

( two houses on one lot ) ( 440-442 ) Therefore Enphase would not honor the warranty. They said the micro-inverters had been moved ! Ms. Reed was extremely rude and unprofessional. Calling the original installers of my solar did not result in any help. But one of them referred me to PV Hawai'i, who I forgot had serviced me a few years ago when I reroofed, and they did an R&R of my panels. (They did a great job then too) So I had an error on one of my inverters. I panicked. After calling PV Hawai'i, I was so relieved with the excellent customer service of their office staff. They were professional and worked with me to fit an appointment into my schedule. The techs just left and besides them being so pleasant, were able to fix my problem WITHOUT trying to upsell me. They were clean and moved everything back to where it was, Their knowledge of different systems (I have two) and the different equipment and what to expect from them was amazing. I highly recommend PV Hawai'i for all of your solar system service needs.

He apologized for the service I received and lack of urgency with the scheduling technician in the office. He explained his position and his own frustrations in the business which I do understand since I come from the service industry. The defective part was ordered and once received, he personally came out to install and get my system up and running. He was patient and answered all my questions. My advice is, don't give up. Email is best so you have a paper trail of your efforts in case you need to pursue other avenues to get issues resolved. Thank you to PV Hawaii for doing the right thing.

This review is overdue…read more The 5 stars is for the work that was done not the process of the companies who took over. I will be honest and it was or maybe still as the transition from SunPower to SunStrong has not been the smoothest. This transition left those of us with contracts in limbo waiting to find out who does our servicing which in the end went to Sunspear Energy. It took quite a while BUT in the end the work performed was done professionally and well. Much thanks to Zack for taking care of the initial request and getting the panels up to par. Many mahalos to Issac, Issac Jr and Isaiah for the care they took in removing and then reinstalling our panels for roof work. I can't speak for the companies BUT these guys ...Zack, Issac, Issac JR and Isaiah deserve this shout out. It was a pleasure and we were very happy with their work and professionalism. Thank you.
